Finally catching up on the Beastcast. I wanna visit the Bone Chapel. That place sounds neat. the Czech Republic one, not the Las Vegas one.

Also, Nier: Automata is a goddamn trip. I can see why it can wear thin for some because (post route A)
the whole second route is essentially the same the as the first, but with some extra insanity added in.
It also continues to push hard on best soundtrack of 2017.

I'd be fine if Kiwami wasn't played tbh, especially if the activities in and around Kamurocho are the same/similar. 0 was fun as a first time Yakuza player since both the story and minigames/substories were totally new and novel. But if they're gonna not only struggle through the combat in Kiwami but also realize that it shares a lot of the same properties of 0, it's probably not worth another 30 weeks of content.

Oh it diverges fairly soon. I think you know when.

I just wish that they'd make the Yakuza games shorter. I can't take in more Yakuza after I watched a playthrough of 4 a while back even though it has been years. It's just too much of the same.

I am interested in giving 6 a shot since there are a lot of improvements.

I'd say more like 8-10 weeks of content. The main story isn't all that long and I bet they would stick to the main path a lot more from now on.

eh, still. I feel like this bloc of 0 and Kiwami should be the high point before digging back into the original versions, so if they/Dan are already souring on the modern stuff then I don't see the series really picking up

I mean I do love the Yakuza games anyway so I'd be a bit biased but I was quite looking forward to seeing them go from the more modern games and dropping into the PS2 or PS3 version for the contrast.

Yeah, went on HLTB and it had Zero at 30 hours for main story, and Kiwami at 14 hours.

I'm thinking that they should throw the plans to do 2-5 out the window and just do Kiwami, and then 6. It's not like Dan (and Vinny to a lesser extent) will be able to follow the story from game to game anyway- look at how rough it was on an episode-to-episode basis for just Zero!

I cannot think of a single type of video game coverage that makes me as disgusted as DOTA makes this thread. I guess that since I am a DOTA player I've already hit rock bottom. And you know what, that's comforting.

The dotes content is #good.

Let's be totes honest here, Yakuza fans. Now that they have played through one, are the other games really that much different that they absolutely have to play them? Or could they actually just read Wikipedia while knowing that the game itself is pretty much the same.

Not trolling here, but the Yakuza games seem real samey gameplay wise.

that's maybe the first 5 min of a game, what are you even doing

Running around trying to find anyone to shoot. :p

I gotta say while I really like PUBG for what it is, the splatfest confirmed that I prefer games with tighter designed maps with really fluid movement options.

0 actually expanded the fighting system by a lot.

This Dota content is better as we at least have Jeff there for them to explain everything to. If it was just Ben and Brad I probably wouldn't be watching as a video with 2 guys who already understand and play Dota doesn't interest me in the slightest.

I'm looking forward to that when it does happen. I'm still wrapping what sidequests I can before moving on to the final blitz. Speaking of Route B
I really suck at twin-stick shooters :/

Get used to it lol

If it helps any you can pretty much kite around any enemy that shoots single/double/4 bullet streams with ease. Once I realised that it actually got fairly easy.

Does anyone care about Esports for games they don't play?

The only "Esports" I follow are FGC and Hearthstone/Magic the Gathering, because they are games that I play and enjoy.

Generally, every Moba seems exactly the same to me. I watched the last match of the Invitational last year, and was bored by it, and had no idea why people were cheering or commentators were freaking out at various points in the match.

I'll watch a bit of HS here and there but I've passed 2 or 3 expansions at this point so I don't know like 60% of the cards. But I'll usually get into the esport if I play the game, or play the game if I watch the esport. Fighting games are probably the only thing that I'll watch where I don't actively play.

I peeked a bit at EVO and was entertainded despite not having played all of the games there (but i enjoy playing fighting games casually).

All other esports i've followed were for games i played a lot.

Though, I've stopped playing dota but still enjoy watching the international

Fighting games are the only ones I think I can watch without being interested or played the game... And even then I struggle to watch the likes of Marvel vs Capcom.

Could never see myself watching MOBA or FPS Esports without being invested in the title.

I just opened up the last of the 5 Billionaires in Yakuza 0 and I think these property prices would have kept them from ever finishing this stuff - 900,000,000 + yen for each building.

It took a good amount of time to do the other ones as well and that's with funneling leftover money from Majima to Kiryu whenever I would finish one of the Cabaret Club Battles.

True for most esports events I watch. Hard to be excited for games I don't even enjoy like MOBAs.
