PUBG reaches 481k concurrent players on Steam. Highest peak for a non-Valve game.

Yet another PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds milestone thread :p

We now hold the record for the highest peak player count of any non-Valve game! GG WP everyone <3

Fallout, GTA, NMS and Civ were launch day numbers, PD2 and L4D2 were free, Dota, CS and Terraria had a specific event/update and I'm not sure with PUBG.

Edit: since Steam Charts only goes back to 2012, it doesn't display Skyrim which peaked at 287k on launch. That would put it above PD2. Thanks Hrothgar.

I hope it won't run poorly on the Xbox, playing this game at 30FPS will already be a bummer, Inhooenthe rumors aren't true...

I don't understand why this game is so popular when it doesn't even have a story. I hate what video games have become.

Is there controller support or would I just get wrecked using a comfy couch setup?

Game is a monster. It is the best version of an incredibly unique game mode with highs that are hard to explain unless you've experienced them yourself. Looking forward to more development to expand and make things better.

Awesome thanks guys.

Will get this once I'm finished up with my current project and the subsequent bender in Barcelona mid next month.
I still recommend asking in the OT, that's where I saw someone's posted he plays with a controller and does well I think.

Controller doesn't actually work properly for anything besides controlling vehicles
You could make something that works well enough in Steam by emulating kb/m controls with a PS4/XB/Switch controller but its your only option

Probably with a Steam Controller that is fine-tuned to your comfort and style. I'm too lazy, as of this moment, to configure mine, but I can really see the potential using the controller.

Will do. I'll probably just buy it and ask questions later. A quick scan of YouTube shows quite a few people displaying how to use a controller with success.

Not a troll. It's super cheap and worth every penny.

I don't see how anyone with a decent income could complain about paying £27 for it. It's GOTY.

There millions of people living poverty despite coming from working families. Telling someone to get a job doesn't help as you don't know what their financial commitments are and if they're supporting anyone else.

To answer your original question, yes I have a job and I could afford to buy PUBG now if I wanted to. I can see you're struggling a little bit, so here is a link about consumer surplus and the concept of value within marketing. I'm sorry that I triggered you by suggesting that I wasn't in an absolute rush to buy a game at its full price fam. I'm glad you're enjoying it though!

What? It feels like Early Access. Crappy UI, bugs all over the place, bad performance, little content, memory leaks...

People just choose to ignore all that because the core is fun.

Really surprised GTA:O isn't higher. Maybe youtube has clouded my mind but I figured that game was HUGE among children

You can play GTA V and GTA: Online via Rockstar Social Club client, that's why the game isn't that higher on Steam. The majority of PC users are playing in the Rockstar Social Club Client, not Steam,

Just buy it and refund it if you dont like it.
I wasnt feeling it so i refunded it glad its doing well tho.

Also my performance wasnt that great.

is the game really that great? it never looked all that special to me

I played it for 8hrs, had a couple of top 10 finishes and completely lost interest. There isn't really all that much to it and I honestly do not understand the hype.

It's in my steam library now though so will check it out from time to time when the engine feels somewhat less janky and there is more content.

I still don't get it. However I haven't touched the game so I can't say it's bad. But how is this game different from H1Z1 and others or am I completely wrong that they are simular.

Again I have not seen much of this game nor have I played it myself. So please help me out.
