The classic 'Murder Club' remastered to launch next week in Japan. It's a port of a IOS version .

A 3D cinematic visual novel, Necrobarista, announced too.

Gematsu said:
Necrobarista, a 3D cinematic visual novel first announced for PC in January, will also come to Switch, Melbourne-based developer Route 59 announced.

Route 59 told Gematsu that it is currently too far from launch to say if the Switch version will launch alongside the PC version. They are also looking at the possibility of launching on PlayStation 4.

Necrobarista looks pretty cool. I haven't played a VN before, unless Phoenix Wright counts, and will probably pick this up, if the price is right and word of mouth is good.

Never played the VN, but the anime will always have a special place in my heart (not the OVA's).

So would be pretty down for a Switch version, especially since I don't really care for H-scenes.

More on topic, glad stuff like this is coming out on the Switch, never owned a PS3/4/Vita so I missed out on a lot. Murder Club looks interesting.

Murder Club looks awesome and is something I would like to see localized.

Im sorta wary on taking recommendations for this type of game on GAF though. The last time I did, it ended up being some bizarre disabled person sex game.

Someone please tell me Murder Club is coming out in the US...

I hope it is. I'll buy that day one. I always wanted to get it for my TG-16 back in the day, but couldn't find it in the store when I finally got mine. This would give me another chance to play it since my TG-16 doesn't work anymore.

Clannad was always an all-ages VN. It doesn't have any H-scenes to cut.

All of those games, except maybe that iOS murder club game, have either been released on Vita or will be released on Vita. So the comments about how this shows Switch is replacing Vita don't make sense. PSP got VN ports for years after the Vita launched. I expect a similar pattern here.

Personally, I would prefer playing VNs on my Switch, so I am glad they are coming. Unfortunately none of these games look very good.

I sorta understand what your saying here but really. Even by your own example the psp get vita did in fact replace it. No one was saying the switch was going to completely replace the vita over night or even so .

Switch is like a Kraken... a portable, seductive Kraken. o_o

EDIT: Hmm... not sure if that analogy makes sense actually.

That Rei-Jin-G-Lu-P game looks interesting, reminds me of Danganronpa for some reason?

..and it probably won't ever get localized amirite

That comment is probably in relation to the massively breasted little girls wearing spray-painted clothes. You guys can at least be honest - I googled the name of that game and found NSFW stuff on the official website.

Not even in the morning when girls are jogging? You need to get up earlier. Anyway, it's not soft porn.
Nah I'm joking lol. This in no way is soft porn I know that.

On topic: Necrobarista looks interesting to me hope it's story comes out good.

Switch feels like a perfect platform for the VNs I've always wanted to play but never been able to find the time for. Would love to see Clannad, Steins;Gate, Fate/Stay Night, and Muv-Luv on the system.

Do VNs tend to have a furigana setting?
Seems like a way to slowly expand my vocab.

I don't think they do for the most part, sadly. They're sort of like light novels, where you might get readings for given names or more obscure words, but only the first time they're used.

As for these announcements, I'm glad the Switch's going to be getting some VNs since the lack of a region lock on it makes it that much easier to get them if you wanted. The 3DS eShop did have many VNs in it (such as Higanbana part 1, which I got), but then again a vast majority of them never saw the light of day on the US or EU eShops.
