I don't particularly identify with Koharu either, when it comes to her bubbly personality and willingness to accept this role, but the show really divides itself amongst all five girls, giving a greater range to find characters to click with.

I'd seen people post impressions when they decided to bow out, dunno if I saw yours. What I really meant was I just didn't agree with the impressions that said it was badly written. What I've really enjoyed about the show is how it tackles failure pretty regularly, and feels more honest than other series I've seen when it comes to one trying to succeed in life.

I totally agree here, they had some genuinely good moments, I just find its work aspect or a sense of enthusiasm towards it to be really fundamental to making the show work as well as it should considering every episode in some way ties in their work.

The last episode I watched had kind of an underwhelming side story so it more or less became the last straw.

Yes. This wait was worth it. Now I just need to wait for the inevitable arrival of what's his face to show up and do a naked nuke again.

Sword of the Stranger-Rewatch

The secret best scene in the entire film is actually the part where Kotaro goes fetch water with his hands for Tobimaru. It is a masterclass in how subtle details in every step of a very basic and simple process adds additional layers of naturalism to the scene. He doesn't just go fetch water, but he tries to get it with his hands because he doesn't have time to find a bowl. He realizes his hands are dirty, and washes them before scooping water again. Just this small detail shows that he is actually deeply concerned that the dog gets clean water, and he adds effort to ensure that. When he's running back, he moves a little too quickly and almost slips, adding realism to the setting as he's running by the river/drain and it was likely to be wet and muddy. Even when he gets to the dog, he realizes how hard it is to feed him the water with his hands, so he uses his mouth. Insane attention to detail that shows a lot of thought going into "how can we present this scene in a meaningful way".

The other scene I always bring up is the bridge duel. Amazing use of third parties in different angles to capture the sense of place.

WTF is that Tekken movie, Mike...

You didn't know they made two live action Tekken movies?

First one isn't bad.

Minami-ke ep. 4-5
I'm starting to see more of the "hit & miss" comedy this series has to offer. Nothing pervy as of yet and just the two younger sisters being evil to one another with onee-sama trying to take care of her imouto's, lol.

Girlfriend Gal ep.6
Creepy friend continues to be a creeper, but the rest of the ecchi stuff has been dialed back the past couple weeks, thankfully. Either way, this was actually kind of a fun episode with your classic King's Game happenings as well as set-up for future episodes.

The hatred for SAO is insane on here. I'm sure I'm not winning many friends for saying that lol.

Don't worry its like that with popular LNs lol. Although there are exceptions.

I know a lot of people in here hate Mahouka, but I am not afraid to say its my guilty pleasure because of Oniisama.

But yeah the SAO hate runs deep.

Another one I really enjoyed. But you know...

Yeah my first time watching Your Name will be through Funimation's official release on Nov 7th.

I imagine it should at least be good. Hopefully I won't be disappointed.

Currently watching Mars Day Break and liking it so far. This pirate show which isn't hard to follow which is a plus for me. Now, we know about this treasure, want to see where this take me in the story line of the show.

For the person who watching Jexhnolyze, it's going to be fun ride that I would advice you to get a good alcohol drink and start drinking when you reach the end of this series. I know I did when I finish it.

I watched it for the first time over the weekend and also watched A Silent Voice again this past weekend. Both are fucking stellar.

Symphogear AXZ episode 6

Well, that was a pretty damn good episode.

Good to see that while most of the budget went to episode 1 and 2, this season's transformation scenes have all been amazing.

We sure have come a long way since the season 1 transformation style...and Shirabe's battle song is probably one of my favourite of the season so far, as expected of Nanjou

Episode consists of some pretty decent choreography for the fights, and finally one of the barriers for team dango got overcame. AI DESUYOOOO

Woah, what the heck was that ending song?

...
(potential spoilers)...
...

Activation+Climax song combined? There's even the phrases for ____ and ____ !?

What is this supposed to meeeeaaan

I enjoyed it a lot, but different people, different taste. I got friends who came off feeling a bit meh because they set their expectations too high. Meanwhile I went into it completely blind and pretty much got blown away, so much so that I went back to the cinemas to watch it a second/third time because there are some details that you might have missed on the first watch.

Also, the soundtrack by Radwimps (a Japanese band) is top notch. Hope you enjoy.

Little Witch Academia - Episode 22
Hmmm.... that explains a lot... but...

Little Witch Academia - Episode 23
That Diana and Akko talk is probably the strongest character moment in the entire show and something I have waited for a really long time. In a sense, it is all the show is really about, ever.

Luckily the LE of Your Name has a two disk soundtrack. So all that awesome music goodness :).

The RADWIMPS frontman speaks perfect English, and the English version of all the songs were just as amazingly godlike as the original.

I actually had the chance to watch Radwimps perform live in Singapore back in June, thanks to my sister who brought me a ticket as part of my birthday gift.

Man they are so good live. I was expecting the settings of the venue to be not that up to snuff, but I was worried for nothing. The vocalist was really damn good.

The part where they played Yumetourou->Zenzensense back to back was bonkers, since a pretty big part of the crowd were definitely newly minted Radwimps fans like me that were converted by the movie.

Uh sure Akihiko Kayaba killed thousands of uh people with Sword Art Online, but we have to look at both sides. Sword Art Online is a pretty uh cool game. The haters and Fake Games Media probably didn't even make it out of The Town of uh Beginnings. Sad.
