Can anyone give me some advice for playing as a Titan? Where should I be spending my skill points for PvE? PvP?
Or, if anyone can point me in the direction of a guide for how best to develop my character, that would be wonderful. I'm a first-time Destiny player, and I'm still pretty far from knowing how to most effectively play my role!

You don't need to choose, you get enough points to max out all subclasses. Only choice tied to class is whether you need to go for the offensive or defensive path (it's pretty obvious which is which, though instead of defensive I should perhaps say less mobile).
Gear setup is probably what you'll need to fiddle around with once you're happy with your choice of subclass and setup.
Max range high impact. Closest thing we have in D2 to a Matador or Felwinters Lie.Insane how? It gets another ammo in its mag?

I have the shotgun, the raid rocket launcher or curtain call are both better than that for PVP. Looking at it in the hands of someone in a video who's making it look extra strong is silly. We'll have to wait and see what the upgraded version does. But this is also why I'm extremely frustrated destiny still hasn't separated PVP and PVE from each other. It hurts both modes when you don't.
Sitting at 274 power at the moment, advanced from 272 this morning, not going anywhere fast today it seems.
All milestones are done besides Nightfall and Raid, both of which I am too low for? I've used all my tokens and such, but haven't started any weapon quests yet, should I have started or finished them before reset or doesn't that matter for them?
Just to check, the drops go off the highest stuff you've got on your character right? So even if I say don't have my strongest weapon which is a sidearm but hate using it, as long as it's in my inventory it is being counted for my drops?

You should be fine for both I believe. Raid and nightfall. And I'd get powerful gear before reset.
why would you have to get too close with a max range shotgun though
Merciless will still be better for bosses though, probably

The range seems alright and it overpenetrates regular enemies at least. I'm curious how good it will be. Guess I'll wait for Datto to do some real tests in the raid and strikes.
There needs to be dlc where you go on adventures with Shaxx. His commentary would be great.

I am hoping to run a fresh raid tonight on PS4 before the reset. I've avoided most spoilers so I am hoping there are still others who are interested in running it blind or near blind (I've only played the pools encounter and wandered the underbelly).
I'm only at 275 so I don't expect to complete the full run (though it would be nice). If you're capable of problem-solving, chill, and are reasonably leveled for the raid, you're welcome to join.
Will begin around 7:30/8pm ET and last until everyone gets tired of banging their heads against the wall or drops off for bed. I'm at work so coordination will be pretty lax until I can check back in on GAF before heading home tonight.

Do the nightfall. It's only 240. Prestige version is 300 but you dont have to do that to get better gear.
You are fine for the first couple of sections of the raid but you will be a liability if you are just an average player. just ask your group to assign you an easier role.
you are lucky to get to 274 without any weapon quests. do them now. they are a bit time consuming but should help you get to 280. after that, the mods should push you to 285.
after that. good luck. pretty much been stuck for the past three days at 285.
Bungie says they calculate it automatically but i think the system gets confused by any exotics in your system. say if you have a primary exotic that is 280 but if you have a 270 heavy exotic equipped, it will NOT use the 280 to calculate your highest light level.

You can tell this game is really making the original PS4/X1s sweat. Seeing frame drops here and there when it never happened in D1. I believe them when they say 60 FPS was 100% out of the question and it's definitely a CPU issue.
Can't wait to see what the full game looks like on PC.

They didn't even let him be part of the fight with that stupid shielding in the city fight cutscene. What a waste of an opportunity to show him being a badass.

I'd like to join the raid with anyone. Checkpoint doesn't matter. I've barely been able to do it this week and would like to finish it at least once before the reset. Am desperate so even if it's the Calus checkpoint I'm game.
Haven't played it past pools myself but I've seen enough videos that I have an idea what to do. Will bring 295 Hunter with Skyburners and Nighthawk. PSN is same as here.
