PSX is where you should be expecting it.

Why it have to be a Sony event?
Like why we have to put all our hope and dreams on Sony event? Why not Xbox event or Nintendo event or publisher own event?
I mean DMC is multiplatform title after all.

This gen, Capcom has reveled their new big games on Sony's stage. SFV, RE7, and MH:World

but PS4 is the healthier platform for a DMC announcement and if Nintendo were to show anything they would have done last week

dmc has never been on a nintendo platform. it has a strong legacy on playstation and capcom announces their multiplat games at sony events. see street fighter v, mvci, re7, and monhun world.

Nobody here excited for No Heroes Allowed VR? I freaking love the Badman games, VR looks kinda cool, hopefully it turns out alright.

But didn't they tease DoA6 during the pre-release marketing of DoAX3? I remember them saying that the butt physics in the new engine won't be used at "that unannounced game" (or something like that) since it was too heavy for the kind of game that it was. I thought they were talking about DoA6 there.

But I'm kinda curious, what other stuff has Team Ninja busy atm? Their work on Nioh should be done and I think most of the team moved away from that game after its release and the DLCs were done by a smaller team (at least that how studios usually handle post launch DLCs). Same with Dissidia Final Fantasy, since it should have a rather small team working on its new contents and additions.

Are they working on any other games that I'm forgetting about right now?

Not sure if that teaser was for DOA6 tbh...

As for Team Ninja obviously they are finishing Nioh DLC and I wouldn't be surprised if the main Nioh team is working on the sequel. Small team working on DOA5LR (costume) DLCs. I think Dissidia Team should be bigger than you expect considering how fast they have to pump out new characters + all the extra console port stuff. They are also working on DOAX3 dmm PC browser game, VR game for the VR arcade, Dissidia Opera Omnia (smartphone game), and Fire Emblem Warriors (co-developed with Omega Force). I don't know how big Team Ninja is, but it seems to be quite a lot of games, even if each of them are smaller scale..
I am sure they are working on DOA6 at some capacity, but I am not sure if they could allocate a lot of their resources at that right now.

DMC has always been heavily associated with Sony, and has always been revealed at Sony events. And lately, Capcom has had most of their big reveals at Sony events, except DR4 because of the history that franchise has with Xbox.

Capcom has established a pattern of reveals in the past few years. Think about when and where SFV, RE7, MVC:I, & MHW were revealed. DMC will be at PSX.

Capcom are basically aiming their biggest announcements for Sony's most important conferences (E3 and PSX).

It always amazes me why people expect so much from TGS. Like are you new to this? It has always been this way since 2013 when I first started watching. E3 and PSX is where Sony shows off the big games. Don't ever expect a megaton at TGS.

We'll see if the pattern holds but you do have a point here. Capcom seems to be cozying up to Sony quite a bit.

Some actual new floors with new designs and enemies would be nice. I haven't even tried the stuff they added recently because it doesn't sound fun at all.

Those would be welcome, but they already added floors up to 50 a while ago, and there have been events fairly regularly. At the moment there's a Tokyo Death Metro related event going, without any penalties to raiders.

I haven't tried the new floors either, because those are populated by Haters that I have no chance against. After unlocking grade 6 Fighters even going through the lower floors has become too hard due to Haters with +2000 damage weapons and 4000-5000 defense armor.

EDIT: They should match the Haters according to gear level, not fighter level.

It doesn't matter at which conference the announcement happens. Itsuno's title that he's been working on since 2015 will be revealed this year. That's all that matters. Which is why people waiting for DMC5 should stop agonizing over specific events. DMC isn't dead just because it wasn't announced at whatever conference people arbitrarily decided it had to be announced.

Uh, yes?
4 certainly was.

4 was announced at E3.

I didn't think so myself, but DmC was announced at TGS and that was developed by a Western dev, it was plausible.

That was seven years ago. It was a different time. Capcom's last notable TGS announcement was Umbrella Corps, unless you want to count that L'Arc~en~Ciel VR stuff from last year.

Yeah I know they technically added new floors but, as you said, fighting with limited equipment against floors full of haters just to grind materials doesn't sound fun. Especially if they have the upgraded guns.

Yeah, it's the single thing that has made me play and enjoy the game less, when any floor can lead to a fight with Haters from players who have grinded for materials you can only get on 41-50 floors.

I mean, I can't even get mad, because it's pretty much known that Sony will be putting way more weight behind their PGW and PSX shows this year, so whatever. It's not like Shawn Layden can get away with devoting half an hour to rehashed trailers that we already saw months ago. PGW and PSX are gonna be good this year, call it a hunch.

PGW, I feel is going to be whatever. PSX will have some good stuff.

PGW should have enough to focus on with Dreams, Wild, Detroit, probably Resi 2 Remake, Moss, Supermassive three games, something from Housemarque, and just in general a huge indie and VR focus, with Manchester and Sony London being part of SIEE and the big VR studios.

The new stuff will most likely be VR and indie, but hey, maybe London has a PS4 game, QD could have a second game ready to show, maybe Super massive is doing an Until Dawn 2, or maybe MM has been working on Tearaway 2.

Guys, this is TGS. Companies give gravitas to their individual TGS stage events as well.
So hope is not lost, because the Sony TGS Keynote ended without any reference to DMC5, or Biohazard 2 Remake, or Death Stranding, or what have you.
Let's just hold tight and wait for what Thursday and Friday have in store for us.

Honestly, I thought it was a nice showcase. It wasn't like I was expecting anything huge or significant (but getting the MHW release was nice). Lots of fun goodies to look into, but I can hold off for PSX to see what other small bits of goodies we're going to get for next year.

Because it's probably going to be an Sony exclusive. That's why they expect it at a Sony event with all the Capcom games coming for the PS4 in recent years.

Best part of this conference if you ask me.

I stayed up all night and ended up falling asleep 45 minutes before it started D:

Caught up now though and it was okay. Some stuff I'm interested in but nothing mind blowing for my tastes. Can't wait to see more of Left Alive.
