You should check out Steven Wilson's new album To The Bone. Very much in line with the tradition of 80's neo/post-prog (Marillion, Kate Bush, Peter Gabriel, etc.).

I'm struggling to decide whether to waste my cash on either this 4K Close Encounters, or the Bebop boxset.

Same here, to be honest. TV overall is changing, and ratings aren't as much of an indicator of success as they used. DVR, Streaming, all is going to skew the numbers. I, for one, have still been catching up on DVR, with weeks between airing and watching. I'm certainly not being accounted for in the ratings, yet I'm still a "viewer".
