That front roll v back roll splatfest is real?

It bugs me that they don't announce it in-game as soon as they announce it in real life. I was playing on Saturday but didn't hear a peep out of this.
It's real, and it was available in game on Saturday. Maybe it's EU only? Where are you?

About customization, I found doubles quite easy, and even triples don't require that much grinding... drinks, favoured gears and splatters tee helps a lot. Toi bad you cant exchange shards / gear.

I seriously hope whoever "designed" the matchmaking in this game never works in this industry again.

I don't see much wrong with that matchmaking to be honest. If you want to win more in turf war, consider swapping weapons. Turf is all about painting so try something that does a better job. Rapid is a great weapon for ranked but it's not going to be effective for turf.

I agree. I don't defend matchmaking, but balancing on levels is wrong when you have better metrics.

On this example, the lower 4 levels scored 3000p when the higher 4 scored 1800p (win points removed). Levels are an awful metric.

I'm USA. I played from 10-11 PM EDT on Saturday and didn't see it.

Maybe USA will get a different one or at a different time. It was probably advertised because they launched it in EU. It was definitively available soon after the announcement here.

I can't see a splatters in 5 days with still no available festive tee? When do you usually get preview?

I HIT S RANK FOR THE FIRST TIME! ESPORTS!!

Seriously though, what a goddamn stressful session. Started with 3 cracks on the bar and barely past the OK line already one loss in, so I'm probably one loss away from the bar resetting. So I figured, I'll just mess around until the bar breaks, no big deal.

End up winning 5 straight, JUST below the line to rank up. So I get panicked and switch into my decent gear instead of my chunk farming gear. Next game, got destroyed. One of those Rainmaker games where you're going to lose, you know the KO is inevitable, but the other team can't quite pull it off.

We lose of course, but a teammate disconnected early, so S rank is still in play!

The next game is a stomp, I run the damn rainmaker in myself. So goddamn satisfying Now I'm at S-rank for the first time in either Splatoon game.

Onto S+ and the world!!

Matchmaking has been especially bad today. Most of the time it worked out in my favor, with the opposing teams losing players, but it’s extremely annoying when it happens to me lol

Congrats on the promotion! Hope to see you in some games soon

People in the last two waves of Salmon Run saved us from wipes with the dankest strategy I've seen yet.

In both rounds it was High Tide so naturally bullshit from all angles and three of us were dead with the whole mob of them chasing the last guy to the corner past the catwalks. With five seconds left, he jumps into the water. I'm thinking "it didn't look like they were close enough to knock him in but guess internet delay." But then I realized that the game doesn't register him as "dead" until he respawns in a life preserver. He used the stupid long death animation to cheese the clock. We then had a repeat High Tide in the second round and I'm not sure if it was the same person again, but we had the same situation of three dead and the last guy alive with only a few seconds on the clock, so he jumped in and the respawn ran out the clock for the win.

We were the happiest bowl of Cheerios in the world.

Okay, I was wrong. The Tenta Brella is a dumpster fire with a handle. I can't understand why it takes so long to deploy the shield, why it takes so much ink to launch the shield (like it's half a tank), and why the accuracy is so terrible.

Right??
The start up time on the shield deployment is especially dumb seeing as the shield is supposed to be the brella type's special advantage.
These guys must've been half asleep while designing this thing.

One good thing about the Tenta Brella is that it made me much better with the regular sized Umbrella. It feels super fast now 🙃

Sooo, I'm new here.

I needed a break from Overwatch and TF2 so I finally dove into this. Beat the first boss in campaign and then spent 40 minutes having a blast in MP.

Question, I just upgrade MP weapons by leveling up and buying them, right?

As Maouvin mentions you can get access to new weapon sets by levelling up and buying them in the shop, but you can't actually level up any of the weapons. Because they're for Multiplayer they're supposed to be balanced so none of them will ever get stronger for you outside of balance patches. You CAN however earn different variants of weapons that emphasis different aspects of them e.g. rapid blaster pro has longer range than a regular rapid blaster but gives up strengths in other areas to get that increase.

You can, however, rank up weapons. They have a freshness rating based on your win-lose ratio in turf war. All it does is give you an xp bonus each time you go up a class of freshness (with super fresh being the highest) but it's something to keep an eye on if you like :p

Damn this Salmon Run set is solid. I don't think I've lost a game yet. Even managed to win a Griller round fairly easily.
Yes, I really like it.

At the same time, I haven't been able to do 80+ (though I reached 25 myself like 40% of the time), I feel it's great to pass 3 waves, but not to set records (but the more time pass, the more you need to be over 250x to get reliable teammates)

I finally got this game and I'm annoyed by how much grinding I have to do to unlock new weapons and play ranked/ league.
Get some food tickets by playing Salmon Run when possible. There are two kinds of food that boost experience gain, which is really helpful.

The locked weapons is so new players experiment with each one of them... But for those who played the first game, there should have been an option to unlock them all at once.

When it's Turret mode in Salmon Run on Marooner's Bay...

Please stop using the turret on top of the ship...You can't deal with any enemies that get too close to the basket or very well on the right side and if you get killed up there we can't revive you. Just stop please.

That turret is the most useful one, it can deal with all three lines of enemies, specially flyfish. If you let many enemies to get close to the basket it just means you're bad at using turret.

You shouldn't use any turret if you're bad at it. But even a decent turret squid(one who kills Stingers immediately and Fly Fish reasonably fast while keeping all egg paths clear of cohocks) at the top is the difference between an unnecessarily difficult round and a cakewalk.

That's the issue, in those rounds, turrets is probably the most difficult job, and that's the one beginners or people still not at ease with SR will often jump on.

(I'd argue the bosses that trigger paint rain are primary targets too, you waste a lot of time because of those)

I have over 1500 hours in Splat 1, so naturally I want to jump right in and play with some of the other weapons. I'll play some Salmon to get some exp tickets, thanks.

There's a free 1.5x XP ticket you can get right after beating the first boss in solo, it probably takes less than 15 minutes to get it.

Otherwise, reaching King in a Splatfest should bring you really close to league without beeing too annoying.

Yeah, I had several hours in Splatone as well. I will not lie, I am bothered it is taking me a while to unlock everything.

If wonder if you can repeat the first boss and get the ticket again.

If you talk about the on in world 2, I doubt it.

The most efficient way if Splatoon is on cart would probably be to grab a bunch of it before updating the game, you could farm it at first...

When it's the glowflies round and for some reason people like to stand very far away from the basket instead of right next to it????????????????????????? So that when they get eggs they have to walk very far to put them in?????????????????

Doesn't League require a B- rank too? Add a few more matches to the grind.
True... Though reaching B is quite quick, especially for someone who is playing well (it's possible to reach B- directly from C-, so it could only be 5-6 matches)

Fucking hell. This game needs to remove regional matchmaking or at least let us leave lobbies. Fucking ten minutes in the jp lobby trying to play a quick match before breakfast watching it fill up and then empty because i assume people are just closing the game tired of waiting. Which seems to be my only option.

But seriously, get rid of the regional lobbies. I know there are people playing in America

If you hit the home button and stay there for a few seconds, the game will kick you out of the lobby. They should give us the option to press B to leave the lobby, but until then, this is how I leave lobbies that take forever to fill.

Copy/paste the link. Famitsu blocks links from other websites.

Ah ok thanks. It looks....ok I guess? Will probably look better in-game.

Actually just stop right here and that solves half of this game's problems.

Marooner's Bay is definitely my least favorite Salmon Run map. The tall, narrow boat destroys your line of sight, and makes traversal much more difficult. Bosses also spawn much farther from the basket than on the other maps, meaning it generally takes more time and effort to get eggs into the basket. Using the lifts is trickier and requires more focus and time than just climbing normal walls, so it's easy for things to go south quickly. The difficulty in getting back on the boat means falling off has much worse consequences than falling onto lower ground on other maps. The low-tide is also annoying because it's so easy to get backed up into the boat, whereas other low-tide maps are more forgiving when you try to retreat. It's only real positive is the hig-tide events, which give you much more room to work with.

Let's not even get into how easy it is to get fucked by RNG with Goldie Seeking in this round.

I won most of my runs this last time, but it was a struggle to reach the quota almost every time, whereas the previous shift on Spawning Grounds, we were consistently getting 70+ eggs.

For all the shit the matchmaking gets in this thread, yesterday I had around five Tower Control matches back to back that were decided by less than five points each. Three of them even were decided by a single point. That was really fun and intense (even though I lost three out of the five matches).
