Strange but true fun facts about yourself

A random stranger saved my life when I was very young. I was waiting at a train station for my mom with my aunt. She turned her back for a minute as the train approached. I was hanging half off the platform, head first, and some guy grabbed my leg and dragged me back fast as he could, the train barely missed me. Apparently by seconds. Idk what I was doing

Holy shit. Me too!

I was teasing a girl when I was in year 7 and she finally lost it and tried to stab, I think, my eye with her pencil. I stuck my hand out and the pencil buried itself into my palm. Bled like fuck.

Can still see it to this day.

Me too! I was seven and a friend stabbed me with a pencil one centimetre above my right eye, the spot is still there. I don't dare to imagine what it would have been like one centimetre lower.

I do as well, its been slowly moving along my hand for the last 20ish years.

Add me to the "bit of pencil stuck in my hand" brigade as well.

I once dressed as a giant nutsack called Mr Testicles and posed for a charity calendar at Ewood Park (a football ground)

I've had an almost completely fake tooth for most of my life.

Before getting said fake tooth a dentist tried to do a root canal on 9/10-year old me without any anaesthetic whatsoever. I've had an almost debilitating fear of dentists since then and haven't been to one in almost a decade.

I also seem to have three different teeth in the same place.

I once had three completely unexplained seizures in a single night, and haven't had any repercussions since.

I eat the entire yolk in a single mouthful if I'm having sunny-side-up eggs.

The obligatory shameful one:
I'm an adult and tying my shoelaces is literally incomprehensible to me

I have something weird about my eyes that I can perceive motion differently. I don't know what is called, but it was described to me by my doctor that I see "faster". All it really means is that I can see when the fluorescent lights are blinking when others can't and a couple of things like that. As a kid I would get lots of headaches when I was watching our older TV, and when I had to watch movies in from the projector at school. Its pretty much not any benefit, because I end up getting headaches from stuff.

Other then that, I've been blessed by Pope John Paul the second. I was in the sick kids hospital after I was born, due to heart issues. I was in the hospital for a couple of months not making any real progress, and my parent were thinking I was going to die. The Pope was visiting Toronto at the time and went to the sick kids hospital , and gave blessing to the kids. Apparently 4 days later I started making progress with getting healthy.

By this I mean that I tap my fingers together. Each one touching my thumb in the order: Pinky, Middle, Ring, Index, repeat. Over and over again.

I do it with my teeth as well. Back right, front left, front right, back left, repeat. In fact, I've done this one so much, my teeth are actually worn down in the places I do it.

If i'm in a seat where My feat aren't comfortable resting on the floor, sometimes I do this with both my feet. Right heel, Left Toe, Right Toe, Left heel.

It's like this constant rhythm that I need to have going in the background while I process everything else I do.
I do the finger thing and the feet thing exactly the way you've described. The feet to a lesser extent 'cause it's rare my feet aren't on the ground.

I'm not sure how long I've been doing it but I've only noticed in the past year or so. I became conscious of it pretty suddenly, but I'm pretty sure I've been doing it for awhile.

Can't nut from a blow job :/
I have to be standing.

My doctor said I had the hip joints of a 75 year old man when I was 17. I'm 37 now and have one replaced.

Other one hurts all the time.

Actually used a gun to fend off an attacker. Never fired it though...and he peed all over himself.

Wasn't fun though...heh.

I never missed a single field goal in high school football. I also played linebacker and defensive tackle.

Watched a pimp get stabbed 7 times.

Have a 3rd nipple.

At 5'4" I could dunk in high school. No joke, lol.

I’ve crossed the AZ/Mexico border and back again in the same day (not through border checkpoints lol)
Same trip, came across a big stone ‘pyramid’ built of medium sized boulders and rocks, with a small tunnel leading inwards. Didn’t crawl in there lol.
Another trip my brother and I passed a bunch of (presumably very illegal) guys in the back of a white truck in a dry riverbed, all carrying rifles like a warzone. Just waved and kept on moving haha. They even waved back.

Add me to the ear moving group. Randomly did it at 7-8 and thought my skin was loose on my bones.

Rolled head over heels all the way down a steep mountain slope once. Was left with that stereotypical scar over eye and cheek thing, looked pretty badass until it faded away.

Me too.

I still haven't decided if being so googleable is a good thing or a bad thing

At least there's no chance of you getting mixed up with someone else.

I have 0 "Social Media" presence (Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
Meanwhile, there are other people with my name who have been convicted of crimes.

Oh shit, I tried to close a door with a pencil in my hand, went right into my palm.

This was like 15 years ago. The graphite is still visible under the skin.

Hi five every-AAAHHHH FUCK MY HAND

It was 20+ years ago for me (probably around 1993 if I had to guess, which would have put me at ~11 years old).
Fortunately it wasn't too traumatic - I went to pick up a pencil, it slipped, I grabbed at it, and basically jabbed it into my palm.
There's only a small bit in there, and it doesn't hurt, but it's still visible.

I have the same first and middle name as the real-life husband from "The Blind Side."

That was surreal. It's a really uncommon middle name too.

I have to shut every door in the house or I feel unsafe. Every door. Even specific ones behind already shut doors. Open doors make me uneasy.
Usually it's only in regards to -my- house. But sometimes it extends to other people's houses.

Antique furniture and rooms with antique furniture also make me uneasy. You know those rooms people sometimes have that look like they're just there to look pretty? They seriously weird me out.

Still, empty rooms lit only by daylight, too. I like lighting my own space with just daylight, but walking into a room so lit also makes me anxious.

Edit: ... These aren't "fun" facts, haha.

I taught my first dog the 7 colors of the rainbow. Basically, I'm the world's best dog trainer.

I've completed the Bruce Trail End to End... I've hiked 890 Kilometers on foot with all my survival gear on my back. Took me 42 days.

Also, I have three cats despite being mildly allergic to them.

I have ridiculously high canquer sore propensity.

Stress, mouth cuts, olives, cereals, nuts, pine seeds, bubblegum all seem to create them and they last for 2 weeks. My lower lip is plenty scarred because of it.

Tried many different treatments and the most effective for me seems to be cleaning the outer ones with alcohol. No such luck for the deeper ones.

At home, I like to keep the thermostat at a nice, chill 68 degrees. Then, even in summer, I can cuddle up with a blanket.

My family thinks it's bizarre.

68 is "chill?"

When I was in a place with a Thermostat, I would keep it at 61, and just be wearing cotton pajama bottoms and a t-shirt.

- I live a crazy lucky life. Everything I ever do always works out. Chalk it up to white privilege maybe but even when I quit my job to wander the earth for over a year I had amazing opportunities waiting for me when I was ready to start working again. Literally everything I do, even random dumb stupid bullshit, ends up working in my favor. I know my luck will run out someday.

- Currently having a feature length documentary being filmed about me and my boss. They've been following us around for about two months. It's gonna debut at a major international film festival next year. Hoping for an oscar. Lol.

- was the documentary photographer for the first ever locally produced opera in Nepal. It was super succcesful and healing for Nepal after the quakes (the opera was succesful and healing, not my photos necessarily).

- have worked as a taxi driver in Australia (I am American)

- worked as a cook in a tiny dump hole in the wall restaurant in Qinghai , China just because I randomly asked the boss one day while traveling.

- know a lot of important/rich/famous people... but I'm not any of those yet. Can't figure out how to get it to rub off on me.

- had a traumatic brain injury in high school that basically blinded me (everything was bright/white) for about 3 days... gradually regained my eyesight thankfully. Now in early mid thirties still have better than 20/20 vision, my brain is fucked though I think. Can't remember a lot of things. I feel like that is because my TBI, but maybe I just can't remember how good my memory was before the injury because I have shit memory. Chicken and egg situation.

For the gaf connection :

- leaked a bunch of Switch stuff on GAF. Now when I post gonintendo and those fan sites write articles about what I said. Feels weird. But I don't read them. I don't care. I share with gaf because y'all my weird fam.

- know quite a bit about how the PS5 is coming along. Not gonna leak anything anymore (maybe). Been avoiding those pachter threads.

I thought I was the only one. I was sitting in my school library in 6th grade (1992) throwing a pencil up in the air and catching it and I missed it and it landed straight up on my chair between my legs as my hand came down right onto it. The mark is as visible now as it was 25 years ago.

Two friends and I are the best in the world at Beatles Rock Band vocals. Unfortunately it seems like they took the leaderboard site down but it might still show up if you boot up the ol PS3

Please elaborate!

I could envision what would happen before it happens. I lost the ability tho, last time I remember using it was primary school, I told a friend I could (probably why I lost it) and I told them word for word what the other person would say to them before the conversation happened, my parents sometimes mention other times I’d done this as well.

My Dad has some other abilities as well so I likely inherited it from him.

You can hardly even see it anymore for me, it's much lighter than it used to be.

I drew a circle and arrow to help. It's basically just a little black dot (a bit past the end of the arrow). It's a bit easier to see in person, but it's still just barely there. It used to be more visible.

Man, it's too bad Dad never grabbed that cool mil from James Randi.

- I still have a baby tooth. I'm genetically missing the adult tooth that would have pushed it out, so in it stayed.
- My brain automatically remembers and knows how many letters are in a person's name (or any generic word), presuming I know how to spell it. I will often forget people's names at parties, but comment, "But it had eight letters in it", or something.
- Every year, on Pi Day (March 14th), I memorize five more digits of pi. I'm up to 85.
