If you're unsure which head of Amazon Studios:

Oh and of course, a casual reminder that Roy Price sexually harassed Isa Hackett who is a producer on 'The Man in the High Castle'.

So as always:
How does Roy Price stillhave his job?

No but fucking seriously how does he still have it?

Oh God Riverdale is something else. I'm so happy about the double up on viewers because this show forking deserves it. The pilot was really strong, that shower scene was good therapy, Mr Lodge is one cold and collected mad house and Veronica got balls of steel, go get em girl! Hnnng and that ending and hint!

Seal Team was the first to hit my military cliche bingo!
SEAL Team is super cliche but is great as a tv series imo.
Its seemed like it would be meh with other stuff currently like Six, Brave, Valor, Last Ship, etc but its giving the "cool" stuff(ship assaults, helicopter stuff, Halo jumps, etc) which all but Last Ship* don't do.

*and Last Ship at that has gotten a bit silly with ground stuff lately.

Honestly? Probably not. I just wanted to spice up the predictions a little lol. BUT if any show on The CW could do it, it would be Riverdale. Awareness of the show is way up, even from when it premiered. Be nice to see a boost in the live watching

Fuck me it did even better than you thought.

That Riverdale bump is huge. They must be so happy. I knew the show could be a hit, but Netflix catch ups actually made it happen. Throw in that international steaming popularity to boot.

Sabrina coming too baby.

Dynasty - 0.4

Winners!

Fails!

It adjusted down! The 0.3s take it!

Weinstein bailout? What am I missing here?
Amazon signed a bunch of Weinstein projects when they were in financial trouble. And with the shows they ordered that were supposed to be co-financed with TWC only Amazon has spent money so far.

And here we go:

Amazon TV Producer Goes Public With Harassment Claim Against Top Exec Roy Price
"You will love my dick," Price allegedly said to Isa Hackett, a producer on 'Man in the High Castle,' who details a July 2015 incident at Comic-Con in San Diego.
In the wake of revelations about Harvey Weinstein’s alleged years-long sexual harassment and assault, a producer of one of Amazon Studios’ highest-profile TV shows is ready to talk about her “shocking and surreal” experience with Amazon’s programming chief Roy Price
...
Hackett says she reported the incident to Amazon executives immediately. An outside investigator, Christine Farrell of Public Interest Investigations Inc., was brought in and spoke to Hackett and executives at Amazon. Hackett says she was never told the outcome of that inquiry but notes that she hasn’t seen Price at any events involving her shows.
...
Did the Harvey Weinstein scandal also inspire you to go public?

Yes, it has. I think women inspire each other. I feel inspired by the other women who have been far braver than I am, who have come forward. I hope we all continue to inspire each other and ultimately create change.

What can change the culture in Hollywood?

It is said over and over and sounds like a cliché but we desperately need more women in leadership positions in Hollywood. There’s a culture of harassment [in Hollywood] and we need an infusion of new and diverse leadership, not just including women but gay people, people of color, people with disabilities — people with the full spectrum of life experience.

How does Roy Price stillhave his job?

No but fucking seriously how does he still have it?

I'm afraid to see what the viewership for Crazy Ex-Girlfriend's S3 premiere will be. It was a minor miracle that we even got a Season 3.

Good reviews for Mindhunter...'s first 2 episodes (the Fincher episodes I think?)

Thankfully CBS's shit performance on CW and CXG's critical praise pretty much guarantees it getting to finish its story, can't remember though if the plan was four or five seasons.

Darn not even amzn was safe from having open sexual harrassers on staff, hope there arent any at hulu and netflix.

Yeah, I guess they at least did the investigation and made sure he didn't have contact with her again. Not enough, but still a lot more than most studios did.

It seems the whole scandal will finally force some long needed culling of filth in tv/movie industry.

Any word about Orville getting a back 9? Gotham has a full season order and is doing worse...you'd think Orville would get bumped to a 22 episode season by now.

Season 4 of Gotham has been genuinely fun comic book television.

The actor playing Ras Al Ghul is knocking it out of the park.

Seems like a good-to-great season can't really turn the tide after 2 middling season for folks.

Yeah it's a shame. Those 2 seasons really soured some people on Arrow.

Whoa that pretty crazy The Good Place and Superstore get damn near identical ratings. I personally enjoy both shows quite a bit.

Also not surprised at that Riverdale bump. Its bigger even that I would have thought but figured it would do well. It seems season 1 was really well received by the targeted fan base and word of mouth must have done well for it

No longer boycotting the Wolfenstein franchise
Kim Masters has followed up with a piece that explains some of her recent allusions to knowing other stuff related to Lisa Bloom, and runs through her difficulties reporting the Roy Price story.

https://www.cjr.org/first_person/amazon-roy-price.php

It didn’t help that one of the lawyers fighting my story was Charles Harder, who successfully represented Hogan in the Gawker case. He was part of a tag team with Lisa Bloom, who along with Harder also represented Weinstein in his unsuccessful efforts to fend off The New York Times and The New Yorker. Bloom resigned from representing Weinstein after initially arguing that he was an “old dinosaur.” (Her own mother, Gloria Allred, reproached her.) In my case, one of Bloom’s tactics was to try to kill the story by telling multiple outlets that I had approached Price and Amazon for money to support my radio show. There was no truth to this, as I had never asked either for funding.
Also of note...
I knew much more than made the cut in the story that initially ran—for example, multiple sources told me exactly what Price allegedly had said to Hackett—but certainly I was glad to get a piece published at all. The Wall Street Journal on October 6 ran an article on the troubled workplace culture at Amazon Studios that included material I had confirmed months earlier but had not been able to get published. One example: Price’s efforts to have Amazon buy an idea for a series called 12 Parties from his fiancée, Lila Feinberg. (Ultimately she did get a deal—from the Weinstein Company.) It was painful to see reporting that had been in my original story published elsewhere.
People in Hollywood and the media world were surprised my byline ended up in The Information, given that I worked at The Hollywood Reporter. (My editor there, Matthew Belloni, said in a Recode article about my difficulties getting the story published that “any suggestion that a story on this topic didn’t run because of outside pressure would be false.”) THR did allow me to shop the story elsewhere, but it came with a guaranteed threat of litigation from Price’s attorneys. Over the weeks that would follow, as I began searching for a home for my scoop, Harder and Bloom convinced every publication that considered my story that they weren’t just threatening legal action but would indeed sue.

It might be that the type of people that watched live the most was also the type of person that preferred those seasons because it had more focus on relationships. It is not a coincidence which CW shows perform the best over the years. It is not the shows with the most action. But it doesn't even really matter, the Netflix showcase channel seems to be working fine.

I don't know if i'd call them middling, two of the worst seasons of a good show I have ever seen.
There's definitely worse out there even on CW(Supergirl) but that doesn't feel like the slap in the face Arrow was.

Glad I returned for S5 though right before the crossover.

Gotham is a known quantity after 3 seasons. With new shows it can take a few weeks for them to steady out. That said, Orville seems to be holding well so I would be shocked if it didn't get a back 9 order soon.

So happy Orville is hold it’s own and keeping its viewers.

That show is FINALLY figuring itself out and I love it. People who love old Star Trek (the TNG) should watch it, lots of the same parallels.

The Good Place 1.2? isnt that really good?

Well... considering?

I started watching the Orville on Hulu. Show is like a funny Star Trek. I’ll watch Discovery eventually, but probably not for a few years, after hopefully it’s off CBS Access.

I don't think Roy Price is coming back:
Amazon Memo Reveals Roy Price Suspension Is “Indefinite”
Following yesterday’s swift [my note: the allegations were publicised in summer but sure let's call it swift] suspension of Amazon Studios head Roy Price over revelations about an alleged 2015 sexual harassment incident, Amazon senior VP of Business Development Jeff Blackburn sent out a memo assuring employees that “Amazon does not tolerate harassment or abuse of our employees or our business partners.”

As the memo lays out the events from yesterday, Blackburn writes, “As you know, Roy Price is on leave of absence for an indefinite period of time.”

In Amazon’s statement yesterday, the company said that Price was taking “a leave of absence.” It’s now become clear that leave is indefinite.

The memo also addresses again Amazon’s relationship with the embattled The Weinstein Co., which is behind two upcoming Amazon Series, The Romanoffs and an untitled David O. Russell series. The memo reiterates that the company is “reviewing all options” and adds that “the team is moving as quickly as possible to close on a resolution.

Deadline also published this article earlier today:
Amazon: Search For Potential Roy Price Replacement Focuses On Female Execs

So:
How does Roy Price stillhave his job?

No but fucking seriously how does he still have it?
He thankfully doesn't.

Honestly surprised even one other exec is getting kicked out from the whole Weinstein debacle. I would've expected everyone abused by Weinstein to come out to get their kicks in, so I'm rather glad it's not just focused on him.

I mean I don't think we're gonna get mass executive firings but the more the merrier.
