I don't understand what is going on with gaming these days.

I'd understand if this were...let's say...Grand theft auto. You do an open world game set in modern times you make it to reflect some of whats real. Cultural diversity is everywhere now.

Back then, wasn't the case. That's like having a black family in Asian countries back in the day. (Which I don't believe was a thing)

You want to complain about something, it would have been best to do so when games were being made where you were just a generic dude with a your hair shaved super low.

Gaming has become a very common thing nowadays compared to 10-20 years ago. Everyone has internet and can form their "highly intellectuel" opinions and thoughts. Unfortunately more people mean more stupidness, insanity and ignorance, and these not so clever people can also be the most easily brainwashed by the media who then are very vocal about the thoughts that were planted in their mind. I think that's the answer to your question (of course this could be discussed much-much further).

I find it hard to be excited for an rpg in a medieval setting without magic and mythical creatures. It wasn't very fun time in human history with too much religious fanaticism and anti sanitary conditions. I would rather slay me a dragon, that die from dysentery in game.

Knights in shining armor etc are very cool, but I like magic, sexy girls and dragons etc in there too.
Though I may still buy this, depending on what the quality of the story is. How well it runs will be an issue for me as well (GTX 750 TI).

If only more developers could be like him, but I know that it is suicide going against this nonsense insanity that is the current climate. Anyway, I was following this game more or less since its announcement but I was hesitant despite knowing that Daniel is one of the creators of some of my most beloved games (Mafia1-2) but when I saw this picture I knew that this must be bought Day One.

You are right, i played 90% of all rpgs out there, a bit tired of the same things by now, so this game looks fresh and innovative for a change, hoping it will become a successful franchise

it's an open world rpg medieval simulator. i don't think that's even possible, given the several prebuild videos available for years

The extreme focus on history and realism is the main thing that separates it from other open world RPGs.

They said they have plans for DLC, but they're not talking about them until later on.

I love Gaf the way it is now also. Never had an account but been browsing for years. But I just couldn’t anymore because it was driving me insane with all the issues instead of just talking about games. But I joined up and I’m loving gaf as it is.

I believe PlayStation Access has some PS4 footage if I remember correctly, but I don't know if it's on the base PS4.

Can't say i'm excited, plus knowing how complex these types of games are and how many weeks / months you need to actually fix all the bugs, glitches and optimise the game so that it can run well if you don't have the absolute highest end hardware... (this game will be a mess on launch, i just know it). Nah, i'll pass on this game till next year for sure, not to mention that i've sold my 1070 and i can't play demanding game now... and it's not like i want to for at least 6 or 7 months for sure.

I think I heard something about this game being region locked on consoles. Has that been confirmed? I'm with the previous poster though and am going to wait about a year since DLC has been announced. According to the devs, it's 900p on base PS4/XB1, 1080p on PS4 Pro, 1440p on XB1X. All with a solid 30fps

A little bit. I like the idea but I was never a fan of Daniel Vávra. He keeps beating his chest because he wrote the story for Mafia 1. Yeah, it is a good game but he built his whole personality on it. Basically "The Mafia 1 Guy", which I think is quite petty. Huge respect for the rest of the team though.

It's also important to note that plenty of people of color don't care about what these people are complaining about. Many folks legitimately have better things to do and bigger issues - and better avenues of solving them.
Consider what point they're trying to make, but allowing yourself to fall into a negative zone - especially if thats where they live - doesn't solve anything.

I have never talked about any colour in my posts. In fact, I'm even sure that the majority of these people are white. But to be honest, what does it matter? These people are insane and that's it. Who cares what colour they are? I would be one of the happiest people on the planet if we would not differentiate each other based on skin colour. But we arrived to a point that no matter what, only white people can be racist according to these people in question. Actually, I think they are exactly one of the main reasons for racism.

Is that for the physical version? Not sure why they would have you download the game which is the same size and then a patch on top for the digital version.
