Since Microsoft's been touting how important Japanese developers, single player experiences, and backwards compatibility are at Gamescom, my guess is we'll see something that fits that description.

Final Fantasy XIII Trilogy
Infinite Undiscovery
Eternal Sonata

I would have included The Last Remnant in that list except it's got expired licenses apparently so there would be little reason for it to come to the service :(

The risen games seem overdue since they're on digital sales all the time.

I too would like
Final Fantasy XIII Trilogy
Infinite Undiscovery
Eternal Sonata

Dead or Alive Xtreme 2 would be the dream.

I’m expecting Septembers GwG to drop today so whatever the 360 stuff is at least one of them will go live tomorrow would be my guess. I hate how rather than give us a nice surprise when something like Gamescom is on they go the other way and do nothing.

I know Modern Warfare 2 has been requested since the beginning and now the COD series is complete on X1, but, come on, only 1 game? They have really slowed down this BC thing. Maybe they got all the easy ones out of the way first.

The big guns like that always seem to get sent out solo presumably to spotlight them!

Benefits on having a stronger foothold in America for Xbox, while possibly neglecting the rest of the world as far as market share?

I honestly wonder why NG2 hasn't happened. I mean it was a Microsoft published game and Black is BC – so it can't be some kind of latent dislike for Itagaki's NG games.
It's strange.

Booted up some MW2 tonight. Freaking finally. Going to be running this shit for a while. Now if we can get Metal Gear HD going I’ll be set for life. It baffles me that we still have no way of playing MGS2 on Xbox one.

I wonder if the transition from Itakagi to Hiyashi Son has effect on the status of the game. There was a lot of drama at Team Ninja and Tecmo in that era. Maybe Ninja Gaiden 2 is withheld out of spite.

Yeah perhaps. It would be a petty reason to hold it back, though

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
Why do I get the feeling that next Tuesday we're going to get some awesome RPG game as backwards compatible, the same day that Dragon Quest releases? I can feel it in my bones.

Has anyone tried Republic commando, does it run well? Really wanna give the game a try, heard very positive things about it and I'm worried it hasn't aged well

It looks great and it is still fun to play. But it feels like a FPS from the time when Halo CE was the gold standard in console shooters.

Sounds great then, was worried it might run like FPS's that came before Halo CE. Was playing the old perfect dark game and fuck me did I struggle with the control scheme. Couldn't bother to make it past the first area

Wow I didnt realized x360 version was droping frames like that, I would swear game felt perfectly smooth to me :p.

And here's NXgamer analysis, he even tested input lag and basically confirmed BC adds input lag problems (exactly what I have said many pages ago :p).

126 ms latency compared to 115 as he says thats an almost unnoticble difference. 1 frame of lag at 60 fps .. or enabling triple buffering on pc like is often used.

Not “problems”... :)

Exactly, Does not seem a problem to me, however, there are people that consider 1 frame drop to be extremely annoying and almost unbearable.

In my experience it does make a difference, I can easily tell if I'm playing on real x360 or BC on xbox x. I wasnt looking for input lag problems on my xbox x initially but after playing BC games on it I imediately felt something was wrong. What you dont realise is, input lag is adding to the input lag on your tv, so for example 30ms on your tv will feel ok, but with additional lag coming from game there's a point where you will feel that difference. In gears of war 2 30fps game (already laggy game) additional input lag from emulation basically made this game much harder for me, to the point where I dont feel like playing the same game anymore, and the thing is, I supposed to experience the same game thanks to BC.

Of course some people may say one frame of lag is not a big difference, but any experienced gamer who will turn Vsync on and off (vsync on PC adds the same amount of lag) in PC games can tell imediately the difference, and especially on 60Hz screen.

Higher Input lag can make especially 30fps game much harder, yet very few people see and complaing about important things like input lag. And what's worse on xbox one sometimes even new games also have input lag problems. For example Gta 5 on xbox one and ps4, Gears of war 4 on xbox one has 2x times higher input lag compared to PC version running at the same 30fps, and also compared to gears of war ultimate on xbox one (so it's not xbox one hardware fault but game itself). Here is interesting rise of the tomb raider x360 vs xbox one version comparison.

At 7m:30s you can see in slow motion how big input lag is, and it does make big difference, the same game is MUCH easier and fun to play on xbox 360 in the end, and even digital foundry mention this as you can see. I have played x360 version just a moment ago and xbox one version feels just sluggish compared to x360 version (you would thought xbox one version will be fixed by now but no), headshots are basically 10x easier on xbox360, and although game looks very bad compared to xbox one version, it's way more enjoyable to play. So graphics is not everything, and developers should focus on providing responsove controls first, then care about graphics. I wish all 30fps games would feel as responsive as rise of the tomb raider on x360 :), if that would be the case I would not even care about 60fps anymore.

In BC games MS can improve input lag issue a lot by just adding vsync off option for players like me, who prefer lower input lag over screen tearing. But of course they will not do it, because most people these days dont care about things like input lag, so they have no reason to fix it.

Wasn't this ^^^^ sorted in X Enhanced updated ? I thought they said it was or i've imagined it.
I dont know if they have improved something, becayse maybe they did a little, all I know is, xbox x360 version feels like 60fps game compared to sluggish xbox one X version. I still enjoyed playing xbox X version, but if you play x360 version even once you will see how much harder xbox one version is because of sluggish controls. I remember one funny situation where my sister boyfriend, who is PC player played rise of the tomb raider on my xbox X once, and he even asked me why controls in tomb raider feels so sluggish LOL :). Developer who made xbox one version should have beta testers :p, and yet they still overlooked so big input lag issue in their game, how on earth it was even possible?

But even with input lag problem I like rise of the tomb raider on my xbox X very much, I even made over 100 screenshots from that particular game alone, and I consider tomb raider much better game than even uncharted 4.

Here are my xbox X verison screenshots from tomb raider

Anyway back on BC topic, I'm playing Splinter Cell Double Agent xbox classic verison currently after playing xbox360 version on BC one weak ago and I forgot how amazing game it was. I hope MS will also add Xbox Classic version to BC in the near future, because it's totally differeng game compared to x360 version. Xbox classic version it's basically chaos theory 2

I haven't finished Rise of the Tomb Raider, i was going to try and finish it before the release of the new one but i have bought and are currently playing Tomb Raider Anniversary for £1.49 digitally and i'm enjoying it. Takes me back to the 90's on my PS1, i do think it is a really good remake as it captures the feel and atmosphere of the original but with much better graphics. It's a nice game to chillout with and is also one of the first games that used 3d graphics that was good to play in that transition of games from 2d to 3d. So thanks to BC i'm back on it as i never finished the game on my PS1.

I'm doing the exact same thing mate. I've just been too lazy to post about it in here :p. It's such a fantastic game; I'm really glad that it finally made the BC list. I've come to realise that I really enjoy the feeling of isolation and exploration in the older Tomb Raider titles a lot. It's a more relaxed gameplay style and the ambient soundtracks are brilliant. I'd really like to see a modern Tomb Raider iteration go back and focus on these aspects rather than being so combat focused (even if I do like the current Uncharted style games).

I thought exactly the same, don't know how the players not from that era would feel about not having a arrow or basically wide corridors guiding them along. It feels more rewarding to explore and discover yourself.

To be honest I have never played first (old) tomb raider games for long (maybe 1 hour in total), although I had my first PC in 99, so tomb raider was very popular back then. All what I can say is I consider rise of the tomb raider really amazing game, so I'm looking forward to play shadow of the tomb raider anyway. Because I have PS2 maybe I will finally go back and play first tomb raider on playstation before shadow of the tomb raider will come out :)

Play Anniversay on your X instead of the original on Playstation, has not aged well.

I put about three hours into it over the weekend on my X and I personally feel like it has aged like fine wine. Anniversary is a fantastic remake of the original Tomb Raider in the Underworld engine IMO. I still love the original though.

Republic Commando a game that unbelievably never got a sequel....can only imagine if there was one, it would take inspiration form Halo CE but took things to another level.

I want to complete original PSX version first, and if I will like it, then maybe I will play anniversary. BTW I'm always playing PSX games on PS2 and CRT, the way it's meant to be played because only that way low resoluton (320x240) and scanlines (on CRT) hide graphics imperfections extremely well to the the point I'm enjoying looking at PS1 games even today, so dated graphics will be not a big problem for me.

I just booted up Borderlands 1 from an Xb one s and the input lag makes it unplayable. Why haven't they fixed this?
Original game on x360 was already laggy, and because on BC input lag is even higher (because of forced vsync) it makes aiming even more difficult. Thanks for your post, because you proved I'm not over exaggerating when it comes to BC input lag problems.

I've been meaning to get around to a replay but don't want to burn myself out before the new one which I seem to do with new game releases lately.

Old games on CRT do make the old games a lot more enjoyable, actually playable compared to stretched over a 75" screen size. But I think what made the original Tomb Raider so amazing and memorable the first time around was just being the first type of game with such open explorable worlds in this setting, to play through it now without having touched it before a lot of the magic will just be lost and some of the camera angles and controls... just horrific. Only reason I recommend anniversary instead, it's a good true remake and give it a turn even if you find no love with the original.

I guess we won't have any Bc game today -.-"

Probably because of the PUBG release? I don't mind them skipping a week because there's one of their major titles coming out, but the problem is that BC in general has slowed down significantly. It's about time for them to announce a new batch of OG Xbox titles and a few enhanced ones.

The BC library still has many classic games missing.
