Can wait.
No, what's the point of Steam making a better platform if Epic is just going to moneyhat everything? What will happen is Steam will have to resort to the same tactic as Epic. This will only make steam better in the long run.
If you want to make a comparison with GPU's even though they are completely different markets: Imagine if AMD started giving publishers money so that their games only work on AMD's GPUs. Do you think that inspires competition? Or do you think that Nvidia will just have to give publishers more money?Look how fucked GPU prices are.. and how abysmall the jump was in the new RTX line. Nvidia basically has a monopoly in the high end.
Like nvidia is doing with steamworks you mean? No, what's the point of Steam making a better platform if Epic is just going to moneyhat everything? What will happen is Steam will have to resort to the same tactic as Epic.
You as the consumer are the only one getting shafted by this strategy.

Where do you see those lower prices? All i see is prices getting lower thanks to epic. I def like them bringing the heat to steam.
except 2K don't make GTA/RDR. they are made by Rockstar. All 2k games will be exclusives, so look forward to GTA/RDR on the Epic Store.
Soon ...Think of the big picture. You think steam will do jack shit about losing big names?Where do you see those lower prices?

and if you think TakeTwo or Rockstar will make GTA or RDR exclusive then i'm sorry but you're deluded. if they make it Epic exclusive that means less shark cards + gold bars sold. rockstar MIGHT sell their next PC game on Epic but it sure as shit will NOT be exclusive.
Competition is good but you can’t blame the people that has a massive library on one launcher. And apparently having 2-3 launchers is alright but one extra is ooohhhh that’s too much fuck you. EhI don't get what peoples deal is with having it on the Epic Store. I must be one of the few that doesn't care if I have to have 1 extra launcher to play a game I want to play.

In your case that’s alot and definitely I understand the frustration. What are the launchers if I may ask? Steam, uPlay, Origin, GOG, Battle.net and maybe Bethesda? It's getting kinda silly. Epic would be my 6th launcher.

Judging by Randy's tweets, it's probably a 6 months EGS exclusivevity deal. I'll wait.
Nah it’s competition. This will make Steam do new shit that will attract players. The majority isn’t going to boycott EPIC. Reddit and forums doesn’t represent the majority of gamers and mark my words, soon Steam are going to do something crazy to counter EPIC. When the time comes, come back to me and tell me it isn’t the result of competitionPeople have to stop calling it competition. Competition is when games are released simultaneously on different store, not bought monopoly.
They are free to use EGS. I'm free to not buy their products. Why do you have a problem with this? How dare game developers make their own decisions with their games. We, the gamers, should have the authority to decide which platform they should use.
If you want to miss out the fun because you don't want to spend 5 minutes downloading a new platform, go ahead. They are free to use EGS. I'm free to not buy their products. Why do you have a problem with this?
I'm tired of talking about this, but me not wanting to use EGS has nothing to do with the fact that it's another launcher. If you want to miss out the fun because you don't want to spend 5 minutes downloading a new platform, go ahead.

Nice conspiracy theory. Do some actual research and you will find there is no actual reason to worry.
Wilfully reductive takes like this should be bannable tbh.If you want to miss out the fun because you don't want to spend 5 minutes downloading a new platform, go ahead.
Steam is not your friend. They where close to achieving a monopoly. This will only make steam better in the long run.
Look how fucked GPU prices are.. and how abysmall the jump was in the new RTX line. Nvidia basically has a monopoly in the high end.
I prefer steam above epic. But i like steam to change. And work harder to get those “exclusives”

True that but I still believe things will happen. We’re just at the beginning and we’ll see what the days ahead are holding for us. Hopefully not a dick in the assI've been waiting for Steam to at least lower their insane 30%, but they haven't done anything. Meanwhile EGS is targeting pretty much everything that isn't complete shit. Valve was only lucky with Halo. Probably because Epic didn't know about it.
Probabilistically speaking...Hopefully not a dick in the ass
Now you're only thinking from the perspective of gamers. Ever thought about how game developers oppose Steam because of their revenue policies? EGS may have less features than Steam, but why should they care? Game developers make games to make money and apparently EGS is the better platform for that.Wilfully reductive takes like this should be bannable tbh.
There is an entire book's worth of valid, well-reasoned discussion on why people oppose EGS in GAF's backlog, but oh no, let's just ignore that for the sake of dropping a tired hot take in whatever the latest exclusivity thread is.

Oh you actually have an argument to make now you've been called out on your shitpost? Speaks volumes, that does. Now you're only thinking from the perspective of gamers. Money mate, it does everything.I'm pretty sure they did something to secure Bethesda. Bethesda intention was to release their upcoming games as Bethesda Launcher exclusives, until they suddenly changed their minds.

Why don't we level the playing field and whine when a PC game is exclusive to Steam?
Piss off Shifty. ILYProbabilistically speaking...
It's going to be a dick in the ass.
It's not about spending the time to install and use the other launcher. It's that the launcher is completely bare bones and you can currently only buy those games at the storefront price. Bizarre that people still don't get this. You're free to do what you want, but don't pretend the Epic backlash is unfounded. If they want to compete with Steam they should at least produce a decent launcher and allow third party sites to sell keys.
The same people that don't vote with their wallets are often the same people moaning about sloppy industry practices.
So Valve is awesome for buying Halo MCC exclusivity but Epic Games the devil for buying Borderlands 3 exclusivity?Developers aren't making their games Epic exclusive because of some crusade against Steam's revenue split, they're doing it because they're taking a fat payout from Epic to do so. Hence everyone else is on both platforms. No developer is dying on a hill to stick it to Valve, they're in it for the money, which is fair enough, but they're paying for it in blood with a part of the fanbase. It's too early to tell whether or not it will ultimately be worth it. People use Metro 3 as an example of Epic working which is a horrible comparison, that game's the first in the series to be marketed to hell and back. Borderlands 3 will be interesting if we actually get the real data in the end.
Because aside from Steam being the best PC launcher by a country mile, there's plenty of different ways to buy both Steam games codes and wallet top-ups. I'm also not aware of Valve paying anybody to make their games Steam exclusive, developers generally just realise that it's where their game will sell the most copies and they'd be dumb not to put it there.
Go ahead, try to find a game like that that is not a Valve developed title. You'll find that it's impossible. The only games that are actually exclusive to Steam are for the most part asset reusing shovelware that no other store wants to sell. Why don't we level the playing field and whine when a PC game is exclusive to Steam?
Time to show some receipts. Where's your evidence that Valve bought MCC exclusivity rather than being approached by Microsoft? So Valve is awesome for buying Halo MCC exclusivity but Epic Games the devil for buying Borderlands 3 exclusivity?
