I hate their attitude. I know something you don't and I ain't telling nana
It's all an act.
If they want the full details, negotiations must be done via the meeting area. Sensitive information isn't given away for free.

Should I be embarrassed for recognizing that setting immediately? If they want the full details, negotiations must be done via the meeting area.
<<<Sonnie's edge,>>>do me a favor and catch that episode of love, death a robots.<<and Sony likely still has that edge. >>
Is his inside source misterxmedia or timdog?
"this powerful"?Microsoft insiders are on full blown damage control. The ps5 wasnt supposed to be talked about this early and it wasnt supposed to be this powerful. Having backwards compatibility is just another dagger. MS got sucker punched and it hurt bad.
I will buy both and still play mostly pc, but I hope Xbox smokes ps5 power wise, and comes out with some killer games, just to spite you sony fanboys. The absolute arrogance some of you are showing in this thread, and on this forum, is disgusting and makes it hard to read neogaf.
The competition between these companies should be fun to watch and discuss, but the obnoxious fanboyism on all sides ruins it for us grownups who love the industry.
Follow AMD Arcturus as well as how Microsoft have been engineering their console since the first Xbox, just their design philosophy in general (even Inc kinect or always online). They lost me with trust Xbox insiders.
It sounds like bs, why would MS be privy to secret info on Sony but not the other way aroundIt would also mean Sony somehow knows how powerful the next Xbox is which seems unlikely do to Ms usually running a tight ship. Or the fact it's not likely finished yet.
What do you think?
"this powerful"?
You have no idea how many CU's the GPU has or its frequency, you have no idea what RAM it has, what capacity or how much bandwidth it has, you have no idea what variant of Zen2 it is or its operating frequency...
Literally a bunch of vague nothingness...
I can't say I'm surprised - and I wonder how these giants will do in 5 to 10 years.Missed the story about reorganising the entire company around those same woke principle (whether right or wrong they are in isolation and together as a whole) and going heavy handed with tons more HR people announced by Sarah Nadella the other day? What do you think?
Do you Not think the hiring strategy has been affected / is being affected (see Bonnie Ross’s / 343i too boss article a few weeks ago)?
That's not entirely true because Navi has intrinsic limitation tied to GCN and CU count, if Microsoft is using a variant of Next-Gen they'd by default have a better GPU.And neither does Microsoft or these "insiders."
I only trust some of the guys over at Windows Central when it comes to next generation rumors.
And neither does Microsoft or these "insiders."
I wouldn't paint things so black and white, realistically the Xbox One X can do native 4K but the reality is it's more of an 1800p system on average. The Pro is a 1440p system on average. We know they said the 1X was going to be more powerful than the Pro and it certainly lived up to that.
The Pro does 1440p while the 1X actually does native 4K.

One of the Xbox insiders on the other forums claims that PS5 fast loading times is just GPU Decompression & that both next gen Xboxs will have it but he/she neglected the fact that the wired interview said that PS5 storage raw bandwidth is going to be faster than the fastest PC SSDs that's out now. we know that the leaked Xbox Scarlet specs say that it will have a 1GB/s NVMe & that's not faster than the fastest PC SSDs on the market now.

It did it with Shadow of Mordor to an extent, but the Xbox One X is by no means a native 4K console, it just makes a substantially better overall attempt at it.I know it runs quite a few current gen games at native 4K.
The Pro is yet to do that in any current gen game.

If Microsoft is skipping to a next next genration gpu how much do you realistically expect that to cost? That's not entirely true because Navi has intrinsic limitation tied to GCN and CU count, if Microsoft is using a variant of Next-Gen they'd by default have a better GPU.
The 1x was a year later and 100 dollars more, it HAD to be more powerful. We know they said the 1X was going to be more powerful than the Pro and it certainly lived up to that.

Well here's the thing, it seems now that Sony is going to pivot for a Spring 2020 launch using Navi, they're releasing information which for them seems a bit early to make a Fall 2020 push. If Microsoft simply held out for fall that extra 6-7 months could bode them a better GPU not just in terms of power but also features for possibly the same cost.If Microsoft is skipping to a next next genration gpu how much do you realistically expect that to cost?

I posted a video earlier today about Navi that gives a better understanding of it all.
Don't need an insider, the clues have been there since Xbox E3 2018, AMD CES 19, Digital Foundry laughing 2x in the PS5 video, the rumors that Navi was made for PS5 and the list goes on.
Also while on that note Navi is confirmed via via to be the last in the GCN line so max 64CU for PS5. Arcturus breaks that limitation and I guess that's how it might end up being stronger. So I wonder if the exclusive deal was real or Microsoft paid more like they did with XO, I'm guessing it's the latter. Would it be strange? No because they need it as a selling point due to software catalog or lack thereof.
Here watch the whole video:
I thought they were launching 2 Xbox models. Base and premium. Or has that been debunkedIf Microsoft is skipping to a next next genration gpu how much do you realistically expect that to cost?

The way it was phrased i think it meant faster than most conventional SSDs on PCOne of the Xbox insiders on the other forums claims that PS5 fast loading times is just GPU Decompression & that both next gen Xboxs will have it but he/she neglected the fact that the wired interview said that PS5 storage raw bandwidth is going to be faster than the fastest PC SSDs that's out now. we know that the leaked Xbox Scarlet specs say that it will have a 1GB/s NVMe & that's not faster than the fastest PC SSDs on the market now.
SonyGAF was hyped as fuck when we found out how much more powerful PS4 was compared to X1. Now it’s “well nobody cares about power, what matters is the games!!”
Honestly don’t care who wins the power war, but this is making it pretty entertaining to watch.
Yea, as excited as I am about technology I'd rather be realistic than get carried away. We'll have to wait and see,
Title is misleading, Sony hasn't even locked down a clock speed on the CPU or GPU yet. Microsoft has made it clear they don't want to be caught short again, but as both parties are also using very similar chipsets, it's less about "special sauce" and more about how much they are willing to charge for the console and when.
Both Sony and Microsoft are very much tied down to AMD's product cycle, and so they'll likely have roughly the same spec in terms of CPU and GPU. Sony might be launching 6-8 months later, but that isn't enough time for them to jump in on the next product cycle.
So there are basically two options.
- Either be the more powerful console by being the most expensive.
- Be the most powerful console at the expense of other functionality.
For the latter there are a load of options available, such as dropping the disk drive, a smaller SSD drive or a hybrid-drive, reducing the number of ports, heck - even shipping without a controller and using the current gen controller again. But I feel Sony is actually being smart here by focusing on load-time improvements etc over pure graphical grunt, and Microsoft would be making a mistake not to follow suit.
Now to be fair to Microsoft, they promised to have the most powerful console with the 360 (which also released first) and in retrospect, I think most would agree they achieved it.
Either way it's fucking great to see Sony and Microsoft going at it again for making a powerhouse console, as an old fart with disposable income I want some insane £600 beast that dims the street lights when I turn it on.
I think so yes, there's no way Sony is settling with a obsolete arch if there is a vastly superior arch in the same release timetableWould it be strange? No because they need it as a selling point due to software catalog or lack thereof.
1. PS4 and X1 used the same GPU and CPU architectures, yet PS4’s GPU was twice as powerfulWhat difference can there be? 2-3TF? for 100+~$?
Unless microsoft has some new design like they did in the 360 era with the revolutionary unified shaders, there's not much room to surpass the ps5. Given they are likely to be on the same process, substantially greater performance demands either vastly higher energy consumption or radically more efficient architecture.
