Ever since people criticized the first WD for having a generic,boring character Ubisoft's market research geniouses thought that the answer to that was obviously to have hipster "cool tech kids" as main characters.
Just like WD2 this character sounds like something a marketing team that is consisted of out of touch old guys has designed after they made some stupid "market research" of what is considered "cool" and "trendy" to 20 something gamers today.

I don't know how is the security now but when i lived there some 10 years ago many 13-16 year old's kids in East/South London were carrying knives with them.

Not surprised about the lack of guns and lethal weapons, there was a lot of snowflakes crying over the fact that hackers were going around and killing people in the 2nd game.
The WatchDogs games have never really clicked with me anyway, no loss.

If it's in the near future maybe she'll have some type of super baton and taser that have multi functions and abilities. As well as other neat gadgets. I don't see a problem with it. No guns could mean that the combat system will be something new and interesting.

As for this game, a female MC is fine with me as long as she's not overly annoying like Brie Larson as Captain Marvel or Batwoman in that trailer, lol. Don't throw in any forced bullshit please, absolutely not necessary. Maybe it can work if it doesn't have guns, we'll see. I just hope that game world will be as "alive" again as WD2 was when it comes to the many different behaviors of the pedestrians, loved that.

Glad to hear there won't be any lethal weapons. I remembered trying to play WD 2 non-lethally (as Marcus and his team clearly aren't out to kill people) but it was just too easy to clear certain harder missions when you could do stuff like call in rival gangs and such and have them deal with a high amount of enemies. If the game is completely designed around non-lethal combat/gameplay, that will be cool.

I'm so desparate for a skate4 that the skateboarding bit piqued my interest, but being that we're allegedly playing as a female it makes me wonder how in-depth the skating would be as far as tricks are concerned, or if it would be more akin to long boarding and just for transport rather than grinding down rails and busting out switch flips down a 10 stair.

I hope those rumors are true, it sounds interesting and a fresh take on the formula. After facing downright irrelevance for a bit there, they have been doing some real solid work since Watch Dogs 2, maybe WD3 is the one that propels them back into AC2 or FC3 levels of respect.

I never really understood why they keep making Watch Dog games. Are they really that popular? IMO the first one was a really poor GTA clone, and there are already a million of those types of sandbox games on the market already. I figured they'd move on, but they keep making more.

Of all the series Ubisoft does, I care about Watch Dogs among the least.

I think this is one of the notable things that people need to consider. Asian in the UK isn't the same thing is Asian in the US. I lot of people are straight up assuming we are getting a protag who looks this: -

Where as dependent on how woke Ubsoft are being we could well get one who looks like this: -

I suspect the former is more likely than the latter, but honestly depends on how progressive Ubi are feeling.

Personally I'm down with non-lethal watchdogs (I never cared for killing in either of the previous games) but at the same time Urban London and the whole Mockney thing is frankly risible as shit.

If the skateboarding thing is implemented well I'm all for it. WD2 improved immensely on the first game but driving wasn't really one of them. They still haven't nailed that and I do hope they will make the driving fun this time around.

WD2 tanked compared to the first. Hope they have a Watch Dogs Online with this where you can travel between Chicago, San Fran and London.

My hopes for WD3 is that it is a blend between the first and second games. The twice as long development time for this game compared to WD2 gives me hope.

Sounds interesting, though, as always, I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop.

I have always felt like guns were a weird inclusion for the series. You want to build a game around an ultra-violent techno terrorist? More power to you. But when you have all these laid back supposed hacktivists talking about changing the world for good, and then blowing away everyone who happens to cross them, for me the story falls into full-on dissonance town, and I have a pretty high tolerance for that sort of thing.

In short, it would be nice if the series actually dared to be different in a substantive way instead of just offering a protagonist that ticks the right character creator boxes.

Its funny i enjoyed Watch Dogs 2 for the world and really enjoyed the drones and remote control car hacking thing that was sweet , but the writing and characters was shockingly annoying. such a great world let down but terrible narrative.

However i might be wrong but i am sure i remember Ubisoft saying after AC Odyssey that all their games will give you a male and female choice of main character going forward ? or was i imagining that.
