The grind in DOAX3 is bizarre. There are several costumes to buy, but most of them can be unlocked within the game. What makes it weird is that the main thing in the game isn't money, but level. Owner level and girl level. This takes forever to raise, and cannot be raised with money. It's so damn slow that it feels like a F2P game where they forgot to add the monitization.

Also, buying the costumes in DOA 6 sucks on PS4 and PC, since you can't buy them individually. You either buy the $92 season pass or the $20 costume packs. On Xbox you can buy them individually.

The DOAX games are mainly a series of mini-games with the girls of DOA. There's a basic volleyball game (arcade style, not simulation), and then a few other minigames that were added on the later games as well. Tug of war, pool hopping, butt bounce, beach race, stuff like that. Nothing too interesting, just mild diversions. The kind of games you would see in an 8 bit sports compilation.

When you build up the girl level, you can unlock new poses for them, plus other stuff such as the ability to stop time so you can take even better photos. You can also give the girls various gifts to make them happier and more likely to accept the swimsuits you give them. You need to make them real happy to wear the racier stuff (which costs a lot of in game money and if they don't like it, they throw it away). The basic idea is that you give them gifts to make them happy, then have them play games to get money, and then they use that money to buy swimsuits and accessories.

That being said, DOAX3 can still get pretty racy at time

but getting her to wear that would take hours and hours of raising her girl level, which in turn makes it easier for her happiness to go up. To be honest, the only reason I'd even go with DOAX3 at this point is the PSVR support.

DOAX Venus Vacation uses the same models as DOAX3, is free to play (though the monitization is more expensive than usual) and is even racier than DOAX3, thanks to being only on PC

They haven't retconned Fortune yet but I have a feeling when the DLC update comes for the Scarlet characters that they're going to implement all of their censored shit on this build of the game.

If anyone has this version of the game DISABLE "Application Update Files", it will no longer auto update games and you manually can pick and choose when and what to update.

Affection levels increase the mood of the girls in Story mode right from the start, or the mood shoots up fast after a few days (i don't remember how it worked, it's been a while since I played), at the beginning it takes around 12 in-game days to max out their mood, story mode lasts for 14 in-game days, so you usually end up gifting stuff at the end of the vacation.
You can get bonus affection if you play girls during their birthday weeks, that gets you an x7 bonus which makes grinding affection relatively easy, sometimes there is a general x3 bonus running for 2 weeks.

The higher mood is necessary, because high mood makes them accept gifts, however it doesn't mean that they accept what is inside that gift. If they don't accept, you have to repack it (which costs owners or girl money - you have two separate wallets in this game)... or you have to use the restart cheat, yeah. Requires a USB stick or PS+ (cloud save, so you can import your old save before you gave the gift).

There are some swimsuits/items which are very hard to gift to girls, yes, that includes the special tickets for the pole dances. So if you are impatient, or you don't want to waste owners money, you'll find yourself restarting very often. Especially at the beginning when owners money is kinda hard to farm.

I rationalized it because it's basically the modern day equivalent of a GameShark, GameGenie, CodeBreaker etc, and given how it can correct problems like with this game in terms of psychotic grind it was worth every penny.

What's weird is that Ayane's/Honoka's old suits that reveal a microbikini top still malfunction as usual. I saw it on Hitomi just now, and in Photo Paradise they are listed as having their malfunctions even for Misaki/Leifang(the old suits).

Misaki's Overalls aren't listed as having a malfunction in Photo Paradise either.

This turns Fortune into some kind of bastard child of the Switch and PS4 version of Scarlet, since Fortune has the Sandwich suit that this thread is all about and you can get it for Misaki and Lei Fang.

Okay, so what I'm taking away from this is the core game (Fortune) as it was is intact but in regards to the DLC characters it's a mixed bag of function.

To unlock Scarlet you need to get S rank 11 times. Dunno what your owner level is but you can get a black fan that can cause malfunctions/destruction at will on top of causing jiggles.

but the grind is pretty rough

just hit Owner level 57

Hitomi just hit sat level 100 got a few S ranks with her while grinding to this level but left her alone to boost some of the other girls
but you just gave me a goal for getting more S ranks with her.

This turns Fortune into some kind of bastard child of the Switch and PS4 version of Scarlet, since Fortune has the Sandwich suit that this thread is all about and you can get it for Misaki and Lei Fang.

Misaki costumes have malfunction working on Fortune, confirmed for me, only one costume don’t have malfunction. I haven’t tested lei fang yet
