P.S.: And it should be an action adventure.
(very similar to the Uncharted games, according to rumors)

Update 2:

The preparation of the E3 for the Avengers begins in a big way.
(confirmed that it will be a game for PS4, Xbox One, PC and Stadia)

Square Enix has posted a photo of the advertisement for its Marvel’s Avengers game outside the Los Angeles Convention Center for E3 2019, which confirms that the game will be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia.

Marvel’s Avengers is developed by Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal, and will be fully revealed during the Square Enix Live E3 2019.

Am I the only one who had immediate disappointment due to Square Enix being associated with it?

Their only focus seems to be pretty graphics and a shit story/game and that is my only expectation going forward for any of their products. The first demo will be the last time the game has any direction.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
Can't wait to see what they've got cooking on this one.

I’m just surprised that it’s in the Square-Enid press conference and not in Microsoft conference or Sony highly probable state of play.

Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal work on the project.
The creators of Tomb Raider and DeusEx.

Wait wait wait, action adventure? But I also recall rumors that it would be Destiny like, GaaS. And honestly as much as I would love to see a action adventure, SP and all that, a GaaS game would make a lot more sense. So much potential with that when it comes to something like Avengers.

GAAS makes more sense for a make your own mutant X Men game honestly.

You think we can create our own character? If it's GaaS I am expecting you can choose between all the Avengers, but that's it. No custom characters.

As someone that highly prefers SP games I do hope it's an SP action adventure but it probably isn't. SE wants that Destiny money.

I hope there will be various sections where you can play with different avengers, if that's the case
I feel like it has to be. I think they would attach one of the avengers names to it if you only playedd as one. I think 3 to 5 with really fleshed out mechanics would be great.

I think it will be a great game, but with that name, they've got their work cut out for them. This has to be THE superhero game.

This better not be exclusive. I get Sony and the Spider-Man deal, but games like this deserve to be multiplatform for all

There's zero reason for this to be exclusive, especially with SE involved. It'll be for Xbox and PS4 for sure. And probably PC too is my guess.

Please not just a CGI trailer...

There's no way they will only show a CG trailer when its first reveal didn't show a goddamn thing. They didn't take Sony's E3 slot for nothing, this has to be a gameplay reveal, else why bother?

The fact that CD are behind this is what interests me. I couldn't give a toss about the Marvel universe otherwise.

I'm surprised, too, because I expected it at the Microsoft conference.
But I'm also happy, because the more news there will be at the Square Enix conference at E3 2019, and the better the Square Enix conference is.

Meanwhile, the Avengers' Twitter channels are assembling for this event.

I agree.

I'm curious to see how/if they pull off playing as a bunch of different heroes.

Another new rumor about the game Marvel's Avengers appeared on Reddit about an hour ago.

According to this user, the information should come from a reliable source in the industry.

In my head the only way I see this game working is if it has a Linear story but their are sandbox areas, like MGSV and it's mission design where it dropped you in a section of the map.

Reason being, apart from Iron Man, the other Avengers (that were "leaked") have no quick way to traverse an open world.

I am completely fine if this is the case, as various Levels/Sandboxes can then be created that benefit each "hero".

I just hope its not some top down shit/side scroller.

Whilst true, I still think that something like the Hulks traversal would need sandboxes designed around his movement, as it's ground focused and not flying.

Forgot about Thors hammer, I always found it stupid. I can't really see myself playing a game and taking it seriously where a hammer is leading me everywhere and I'm hanging on for dear life, haha.

For Hulk you would need wide areas, for Thor he normally goes above buildings? I don't recall him having the movement to quickly zip in and out of buildings as quick as Iron Man.

They are 3 different traversal systems to me.

Oh no, THREE (in Words: 3!) fully fledged travel Systems in one open world game... nobody has ever...
Wait...
[Edit: got the wrong entry of the series]

Crystal Dynamics (the remnant of the old 3DO project) and there are people with high hopes about this project here?

Fun Fact- CD was *saved* cos Eidos, a British company, wouldn't pay the brit *inventors* and devs of Tomb Raider a decent budget, but the dribblers who ran Eidos were happy to hand over a *vastly* bigger budget to the yanks at CD to make the next one.

Today Square is just the latest incarnation of Eidos (which itself was but an incarnation of UK/US Gold).

CD is highly competent in a *very* workmanlike fashion - but brit coders run circles (very very *big* circles) around yank coders. Same with E/W european coders vs yank coders. Where do all the good game engines come from? If you are American, you may wish to not discover the answer.

America does fare better with console exclusive engine work tho, but that isn't the case with this Avengers game.

Anyway i'd expect great art and character design. Great cut-scenes. But gameplay- cough, cough, cough. Superheroes shoehorned into the mediocre Tomb raider engine, shudder.

Don't get me wrong, the limited skills of CD suit TR fine. A simple single character plodding thru basic unchallenging data sets - all style, little substance. Like those sh-tty titles so beloved from naughty dog. And I like the new Tomb raider games for what they are.

But now look at Rocksteady or the peeps behind the just-good-enough new spidey game. They put the agency of the superhero *first* and find a way to bring the agency to life in an engine designed around said hero's skill sets. Can anyone here see Crystal Dynamics doing this? God how I wish- but no.

Still it is going to be fun finding out. I love it when any dev ups their game, or a new dev comes along and trumps the current players. Advancing the state-of-the-art in game design. Rather than taking the same aging engine, and giving it a new lick of paint (more triangles, a better lighting system).
