I've been banned multiple times on era and some for reasons I'd qualify to be very dumb, but as far as game sales discussion went, I believe it was at first a decent place to discuss. At one point it became difficult with some trolls or console warriors, which encouraged me to rather use the private discord instead.

I do agree that I feel like it'd be better for me and all parties involved if we had that discussion since the beginning.

Again, easy to check with posts on this forum), nor has it been some secret influential discord (the few influential people there were there just to discuss sales and never wanted to talk about anything else).

That seems really sketchy, you are saying it was not secret but it was indeed secret in first, then you say the server rules got more lax, but why would a sales server need to be secret from the gaming community and why would it had some of the biggest mods of ERA in there? Also, your point contradicts a lot of points made by LordKano.

The two screenshots involving me had context removed. The first one had me being weirded out by the era posters being mad at the age difference instead of being mad at the actual act of rape. The second one had me advising another poster to not post a dumb argument about how "loli =/= underage" on a thread at a risk of an instant ban, which he ignored and got banned for anyway. He also got banned multiple times from the discord server, same as another poster in the OP.

Can you give us the proper context, then? Because you, Luigi and Kano come here with your own reasonings and your own spinning of the narrative, but you know, we have not seem actual proof as the OP posted, you will have to do more than that.

I've done the imgur removal request on my own, nobody else asked for it. There has been no mass report, you can easily check how easy this is (imgur doesn't even ask your mail or whatever). Why? Private discord screencaps, and used for defamatory purposes (don't think you can say the contrary). I should have known some people would go "wow this just prove you're guilty!" but you know just like me those would have been reuploaded somewhere else anyway. I've done that in the hopes that some would calm down and think a bit about the whole story, I got the reverse effect.

So you had nothing to fear, but you wished to destroy the evidence anyhow? That does not really alleviate or assuage anyone about your supposedly innocence.

Because there's nearly nobody talking anymore about the topics that actually interest me, and because the userbase has also changed (as seen with some users trying to do a witch hunt on multiple members, and/or trying to shut down discussion because that'd mean they're wrong).

But you are so happy staying in ERA where the witch-hunt and shutting down of discussion is rampart, they even shut down this topic on their own board, that to me and everyone else feels like controlling the narrative.

Also for those wondering why people pointing it out on era are getting banned, it's just part of their rules (no off-site drama, which has always been fine here). Same your reddit posts (off topic content). There's no bizarre conspiracy theory where people are here to shut this down, there's just nothing really bad in those screenshots on their own (which funnily enough, even people on 4chan, KIA and Kiwifarms pointed out). So there's just the story of the OP that was permabanned from a forum, banned from that former discord server (after trying to get some other users (not those in the OP) kicked out and trying to share fake leaks), and that keep saying "I'll be back with more evidence" (on top of some truncated discord screenshots) but never actually showing it.

First of all, have you seen the /v/ board on 4chan? Have you seen what the majority the very biggest majority of the comments are? They don't portray what you say they portray, we already knew KiA was doing damage control for ERA and other anti-gaming sites for a long while now. Also, can you explain to me where in the rules it says that a mod can express his desire for children to be murdered (Slayven) if said children are white? Also yes, the narrative that the OP is just angry she was permabanned did not helped others when they tried to spin it.

Not sure about the recent developments of all of this, but the initial outlook is extremely troublesome, and from what I can gather, Era is doing all they can to not have this get out there, and trying to explain all this away. But too many screencaps and too much in the way of trying to either deny or do mental gymnastics to condone this.

I'll just answer for myself here, but the thread my posts screencapped in OP were about is in the OP and it's quite evidently a graveyard with many bans. I was expressing my disagreement on the era moderation about how they handled the issue. Then we discussed legal matters about legal age and age of consent, since it was a topic of that thread. I believe that's everything concerning me.

Seriously, just by typing ResetEra in Twitter you’ll see how much bashing Era gets... A lot. In fact Era is incredibly hated nowadays. Heck people believe Era is less of a gaming forum and more of an SJW platform nowadays. People also dub ResetEra as the “cancer that was excised from GAF”.

I post in both, Era because the gaming community is active and here for other stuff and sometimes gaming. I completely abhor and ignore the gaming-turned-political threads because what are they for? Trying to prove a point on their beliefs? All I just care is if the damn game is fun.

Mob mentality is always a dangerous snowballing effect, and even though we at Gaf frequently accuse Era of organizing witch hunts, matter of fact is, no one is immune to it and we can also fall victim to this mentality. (As some users have rightfully pointed out in this very thread.) Fortunately, a good tactic to stall this snowball effect is to come out and communicate your position, as you did.

Era is one of my few connection with the english-speaking world. My twitter is mostly about personal stuff, or my opinion on video games. I'm not from America and not a native english speaker. I also now tend to avoid political threads, but it's more of a fear of getting banned without knowing why.

For some, it could be an indication of how likely a game is to get a sequel or something like that. At least I feel that's one of the bigger motivations, but I think for others it's mostly just a numbers game.

One example, did anyone seriously think the sequel to Luigi's Mansion would sell 5+ million copies? I certainly couldn't have predicted that based on what I thought of the game. I personally am not into video games sales all that much but I'll occasionally look up sales figures just to see how the series is doing. That said, I don't get seriously involved in that type of discussion and would much rather talk about the quality of the game(s) themselves and how/if they can be improved by the developers.

I was expressing my disagreement on the era moderation about how they handled the issue. Then we discussed legal matters about legal age and age of consent, since it was a topic of that thread. I believe that's everything concerning me.

Oy. Why can't people wait until their target of affection is at least 20 years old? By then they will definitely be ripe for the picking. I never understand the mindset of pedophiles, really. Gonna use farmer logic on this... but why pick the crops before they're ripe for harvest? Do pedophiles love eating tiny tomatoes VS a fully grown juicy red tomato? Slaughtering a baby pig VS a fully grown pig that could feed an entire family? Attempting to milk a baby cow VS a fully grown one that can likely provide more milk and probably in better quality?

Tangential but what's interesting about discussing sales figures?

Kano and others already replied about it, but that's interesting on tons of levels.
If you want to know why games are changing a certain way, and why some are going back another way, sales explain it. Why a company is changing focus? Financial results explain it. Why a platform is getting some content? Another dying is the reason. Etc etc.
Super interesting if you take a deeper look and are interested in both the past and future of this industry.

Mob mentality is always a dangerous snowballing effect, and even though we at Gaf frequently accuse Era of organizing witch hunts, matter of fact is, no one is immune to it and we can also fall victim to this mentality. (As some users have rightfully pointed out in this very thread.) Fortunately, a good tactic to stall this snowball effect is to come out and communicate your position, as you did.


Many of the early accusations were always ambiguous, that's why it's important to discuss it, question it, and listen to all sides.

The only truly solid evidence of pedo behavior was in that twitter in page 12.

The issue with coming to explain/reply is how quickly a thread is moving and the overreaction/popcorn gifs. It definitely became a bit more reasonable since for most posters.

edit: I'm still not sure why some people think you can't discuss other topics in a discord themed after something. It's been the case of every discord server I've been in, that's why you got multiple channels.

Someone linked the thread about it from era, some weren't happy with the decisions some mods took there and ranted about it. The channel it was in was the general chat, where people discuss as much sales as anything related to video games, era, or news in general.

People created a thread pointing someone at twitter are accusing the serebii guy of being an asshole, I posted he is not a saint as well. He made a bunch of jokes for people who used to post leaks about pokemon because... you know... only serebii get the real source about pokemon.
