Agreed.

The swing we’re currently experiencing definitely seems severe and unprecedented. I’m guessing the rise of smart phones and social media amplifies it tenfold.

I believe most people are grounded and reasonable though, and that’s what will ultimately keep everything in balance.

I know I am going to get some angry nerd shitting his pants all over me but that whole season was about her being totally fucked up off her meds while suffering from a mental illness(bipolar). It was commentary that even someone who can save the USA can suffer from mental illness. It is kind of a central theme to the entire show. You missing that may not be you at your finest especially since the show is so poorly written and all.

Her account can be a 12 year old bot account spamming 100 000 posts a week in Mandarin selling dish-washing liquid and I'd support it to the death if it meant deplatforming that scar on this industry.

But going out of your way to contact their advertisers with the stated goal of deplatforming is fucking wack.

Yeah, I totally understand your skepticism. This is an account I made in 2010 but never used, I had another account with more posts that was perm'd (probably by bish) in 2015-2016 during the craziness on GAF OT leading up to Trump's election.

Anyway, hostility towards newcomers is awful Era of you. This is not a cool kids club.

Meh if they want to come back let them. Their shit won't fly anymore. The moderation team is competent and won't bend to a bunch of crybabies. Plus I think one of the big problems last time was us (the sensible people) kind of just let the lunatics run rampant because we didn't feel like they were worth the time or effort. If they come back and whine about shit, there's a lot of great posters who will shut them down quickly. They'll either have to learn to live with a different perspective than theirs (maybe they get rehabilitated but that's an optimistic outcome) or they can go find some other place on the internet to spread their hate.

All things considered I think it's understandable...I mean Era does have a rather prolific history of going out of their way to make their opponents look bad. I'm sure he's giving me the sideeye too, and considering the circumstances I'm 100% A-okay with that.

We're not a "cool kids club". We're just very well accustomed to folks showing up out of nowhere to comment on drama, especially since the October 2017 meltdown. Don't take it personally. Since you're just now returning, you were probably unaware of the regular stream of "visitors" we've gotten over the past year, especially.
