I personally very hype for this, every footage I have watched looked really good and most previews seem positive so far.

Looks great, I’m very interested. My final decision will be based on reviews though — this could be a 6 or a 9 depending on execution so I’m really curious to see how it all turns out.

This seems like a return to form, like the original on GCN, at least IMHO. Pre-ordered and waiting on my console :).

Discount on eShop credits (10% off £30 cards, £9 saved purchasing three cards) on a third party site plus Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers (which offers a discount on the games, two full priced games on the eShop for £84, still cheaper than the occasional Amazon or Argos £4-5 discount on physical game purchases) means a quite nice saving overall.

Edit: of course now DQ XI S is £49.99 on the eShop and £39.99 on Amazon and the latter is a version you could resell one day (and buying more physical games would mean not having to buy bigger SD cards... unlike all other platforms most physical games run off the game card)... oh well lol.

Games like Mario + Rabbids wasn’t made by Nintendo but turned out pretty good and if I remember correctly for Fire Emblem Three Houses they had lots of help from Koei Tecmo which also turned out pretty damn good. I don’t see the problem here.
And this isn't just any random team. This is Next Level Games. They are more productive than Rare at this point, and are Nintendo's most promising western studio.

Punchout!!!
Super Mario Strikers
Luigi's Mansion 2 (working directly with Miyamoto and Nintendo)
Metroid Federation Force (one of the best portable system FPS ever made)

Now they're making a AAA console release. They're killing it.

I’ll be there Day 1 for it. I love this series, and the sheer personality of it it, and have since the very first Spaceworld tech demo. All I needed was the confirmation at E3 that it looked brilliant, and it’s been a must-buy for me since that moment, the perfect Halloween release date only being even more awesome.

On top of all three of those things, it’s been a really long time since a good old fashioned (and new) blockbuster Nintendo adventure on the Switch.

Nah I gave this series a try with the gamecube/3ds. It just wasn't for me. I'll be playing PvZ or Atelier Ryza.

Outside of pokemon it's the most hyped game in our house. Too bad they didn't release it a week before or so since Halloween is a busy day then we are kinda ghosted out.

If it was made by Nintendo.

the same developer as dark moon is doing it. Not sure I would be worried after how awesome that game was.

the price point however is a bit high. $40 will be my buy point to this game. Probably look for it used after about a month.

Darkness no more
I might grab it later if it’s good. I haven’t played the previous games. I’m picking up Atelier Ryza already next week.

This is a packed fall. New Call Of Duty actually looks buyable, Shenmue 3, Death Stranding, Outer Worlds and Star Wars Fallen Order means its a no from me dog. If Doom wasn't delayed it would have just been a bigger no...

They just picked a horrid time to try to release it in such a packed fall. The game just doesn't stand a chance outside of the hardcore that buy those IP. I like the series, but Nintendo should have went all in with that series when it first came out, not waiting almost 20 years to remember it exist or something. Lots of those who loved the original, I think already moved on years before 2 came out and even more so when 3 is coming out. So I think they needed to strike while the iron was hot and give it some room to be competitive for new comers like a spring or even summer release. Seeing how Splatoon has a sequel, I think they learned that lesson on leaving money on the table like that with IP. So I might buy it some time next year, used. Just don't feel it at $60. Maybe $30 used.

F FMXVII Yes and no. A store can discount a game for a sale sure where they take the loss. We see that every year, like when folks kept making it seem like it was a big deal that BFV was on sale, ignoring so was Red Dead 2 and Smash Bros Ultimate, but many times a publisher can give a discount to the retailer to give them incentive to have a sale for greater returns.....Nintendo rarely does that. Its why you have to look at the used market to really get good deals on those titles.

NeilH1982 NeilH1982 Agreed. The first is such a classic. In my top 20 best games of that generation. Massively underrated and criminal that Nintendo waited so long before supporting it again. The game almost moved like 3 million units and thats a huge deal around 2001-2002 etc, yet Nintendo thinks its smart to not actually support that 3 million. I think 2 if put on Wii would have moved HUGE units for them, even more if they had a DS version. They just waited too long. I think the 3DS sequel shows that fans wanted the series for some time.

I'm in for coop with the gf.
She loves Nintendo games, especially Mario games and spin offs, and I'm certainly coming around to them as well. Looks like a lot of fun and I have some time off work for Halloween as well.

I'm still trying to figure out what my kids like. Some games they can't put down, others I think they'd like but they never play more than an hour or so and then lose interest.

Since I have never played one of these I'm not willing to spend $60 to find out if we would. Maybe a rental for them first with Animal Crossing being their next first experience.
