Might be tied to a PC launcher deal. So he needed to prep the gaming audience for what's to come for PC.
Given many key titles lately have done EGS deals, wouldn't be surprised if Hideo partnered with Epic.

In all seriousness though, Sony should make a PC launcher. This would secure a piece of the PC software market and secure millions of new and old fans. Not a streaming service either. PS Now is utter shit. Just make a launcher and test it with a few games at first. Games like The Last of Us, Horizon Zero Dawn, Uncharted Trilogy, Bloodborne would sell millions more.
505 is publishing, and Control is EGS Exclusive.
The Quantic Dreams games are all EGS Exclusive too.

The only ones getting screwed are suckers who buy games day 1 and decide to ignore the information that is out there:
- Project announced as coming to PC
- Sony has never presented the game during any event as "only coming to Ps4"
- Game is removed from the list of exclusives on the Playstation website.

Regardless of console. Any console exclusive going to PC devalues the console. Which is why having a Xbox is almost pointless at this time.

It will hurt PS4 sales, but overall it's great for Hideo as his game just tripled his potential user base. The only people complaining are walled garden gamers who need Game X to be solely theirs to justify buying their plastic box, when most people probably don't give a shit and the more platforms the better so everyone gets a chance.
It's like VHS vs. Beta. VHS won. But I don't remember hearing one person jump up and down cheering because VHS got more movies. It didn't work out financially for movie studios to make movies for both platforms, but if the money was there it would be great for both sides to get lots of movies.
Yet in video games, idiots feel like they won the lottery because a game is solely on their machine. Grow up.
PS4 user base: 100 million
PC user base with a rig good enough to run it well: maybe 200 million active gamers?
And how are sales going to drop?

It doesn't matter. PCMR folks love benchmarking and pushing res/fps to the max. It's kind of a side game for them, if you will.

Chances are Decima already works fine on the platform, though I do know the HZD dev pipeline involved having the engine open on PC and streaming assets and changes directly to the game running on a PS4 devkit.

One does not simply switch engine to port to PC, outside of crazy outliers like Nightdive Studios' KEX engine titles.

I myself don't like some things about MGSV - such as no David Hayter despite what he always meant since MGS1, terrible treatment of Peace Walker characters, no Skull Face boss fight...
Still, that doesn't change the fact that I spent huge amount of hours in this game, enjoyed it, and still do, because it has so much replay value.
