I know we're all ripping on Google but seriously...you are saying Google aren't good at business?

They are literally one of the biggest and most rich businesses on earth.

Keep shitting on Stadia, I'm joining in, but some people need to get a grip on reality.

Android Gmail galaxy phones chrome all great and could not live without these.

However stadia is one thing I can't get behind. We are not ready for this, onlive failed sony had allow downloads to make Ps now attractive. I'm lucky to have fast ulimted Internet but majority of the world don't, us still has data caps.

I also don't like how they've outright lied about 4k, there charging people for a video stream thats 4k when source isn't 4k, not surprising when consider amds performance when comes 4k. They also lied try make out like stadia would match powerful pcs, however doesn't even seem to compete with current consoles.

I will never understand what Google where thinking with this. Its never going take off.

I guess it was too expensive even for Google to have top of the range PCs and graphics cards in their Stadia server farms.

Also, are these Stadia games specially made PC ports or something? Can you access graphics options like the PC? Or it's pre-configured like a console?

I predicted this and I’m not even remotely surprised. Honestly, they should of just delayed it to try to get it up to the expectations and promises. The fact that they were seemingly very secretive about letting the public see more of this and actually try it out was suspicious to me.

Curious if the latency over the Internet is better than PS remote play locally on e.g. an iPad. If so, Sony has a lot to do because it’s hardly ideal.

You must not be very familiar with Google.

People like to laugh at Microsoft for being dependent on Windows and Office for the majority of their revenue, but that pales in comparison to what Google is. They are an advertising company, over 85% of their revenue is from advertising. They are TERRIBLE at business. Google's reputation for introducing rushed, half-assed, poorly thought out products and then canceling them a year later is legendary in Silicon Valley circles. They introduce something, it sucks, they can it. The only thing Google has ever consistently produced is the networks that spam ads into every corner of your life. You don't believe me, go look at their financial statements, it's very clear how Google makes money.

With all the issues Jedi Fallen Order had at launch...….Imagine JFO on Stadia???? freezing plus latency + lower rez than the mid-gen consoles...…..Yet,,,,,,

Google VP said:
“Ultimately, we think in a year or two we’ll have games that are running faster and feel more responsive in the cloud than they do locally,” said Stadia’s VP of engineering Madj Bakar, “regardless of how powerful the local machine is.”

I'm still baffled by that statement tbh, he is saying Stadia will become faster than future PC's and Consoles too...……...RDNA 2.0, Ampere and PS5/Scarlett won't stand a chance...…..This is power of the cloud coolaid raised to level 1 million...

Apparently Google is targeting women with stadia.. it's obviously on purpose so they can check their make up in between button presses. Try not to be so insensitive you misogynistic jerks

Oh how smart of them /s

They want to chk all the boxes

4k /s
60fps /s
Be inclusive to women
Waiting for the "be inclusive to all genders talk"
Gives gamers a break in between hits and strikes to stretch "delayed gaming" 😊

I see what they are doing 👌😁😉😂😂😂😂

That is actually the normal streaming lag... it can be worst depending how far you are from server.

In local network with BotW I got less than that but still noticiable lag playing Destiny... it works fine in Raids but it is bad on Crucible.

And i thought sony was doomed.
According to forum armchairs

Of course they are /s Funny shit is that all these issues to a greater or lesser degree affect all the streaming services. Previews of XCloud have all the games topping out at 720p res during streaming (Microsoft has been quiet on the resolution but u know ppl on here saying hyperbolic bs) like Psnow with of course issues here and there in terms of lag.

You sure XCloud tops out at 720p though? I thought MS had a 4K option too.

Microsoft hasn't put a specific number I'm just stating what all the previews have said. They all stated tht their games were 720p whether XCloud will have higher resolution remains to be seen.

One such preview...

But all I researched said their games were not above 720p. At one event Microsoft showed a game at 1080p I believe but what companies say and show we all know can definitely be different than what we get in the real world.

The problem is that google is claiming 4K 60 if you have the bandwidth and charging for it.

Google's should just rip the Stadia hardware out of the server racks and sell it straight to customers as a regular console.

So I'm not seeing this as you guys are, I consider this a huge win for Google. The fact it's working at all is far better than I actually anticipated.

Have you ever heard of a gaming company overstating what they actually deliver? Seems pretty standard really, and the reality is they have the infrastructure to deliver on that promise in the future.

Some initial speed bumps is to be expected. The single biggest problem I see is the price point of games. Full price will be the death of this thing if they don't get intelligently competitive with their price point.

I agree.

The RIP stadia is a bit foolish.

the issue is the price tag... it needs to be a subscription service for games that’s Netflix rates.

Nothing will match dedicated hardware and we know this but as a supplementary gaming device... Still curious about playing games during my coffee break... because other handheld gaming options are still trash.

We already have streaming services tht work so I don't get what you don't get or how thts a plus. The talk was tht it would be better, with performance and graphics better than on traditional consoles at 4K and this is far from it. Throw in tht horrible pricing model and it's not looking good.

No one could seriously believe you’d get better performance than dedicated hardware. TV providers can barely get 4K delivered to your home box without artifacting... I’ll be surprised if we ever see anything running in 4K any time soon.

the only “advantage” is the elimination of installs and updates.

I can’t see this as anything but a supplementary device.

If the service is working at all... not a bad start tho. Online game launches rarely go well in the first few days due to bandwidth getting raped.

OH mostly everyone on here knew the pr talk was bs but for only a few but the point is it was advertised as such and some really believed the hyperbole.

I agree at a diff price point and supplementary to console gaming this would be "OK".

I hope Sony's premium plus is true and includes Psnow bcus I enjoyed my time with it years ago it was just tht the pricing was off and too much..

google not doing the games pass approach with ALL available software is a mistake.

A device like this should be cater to the welfare gamer if anything and be priced as such.

What the fuck is this article
Traditionally, gamer gear has been manly. Microsoft (MSFT)'s Xbox controller comes in colors like electric blue or firetruck red. Sony's controllers are available in black as well as various shades of neon and camo. And Nvidia's angular, black controller looks a little too much like Darth Vader's mask.

Jesus that snippet of text is literally someone finding whatever bullshit reasoning they can to get to answer they wanted to write all along regardless of anything corraborating to its existence. Of all the things to point to in regards to gender pandering in gaming the writer decided to use controllers.
