You are fkn wild if you think NuJill is ugly. She's no Julia Roth, but her design is solid like NuLeon IMO. Not as off as Chris and Claire.
Its not that shes ugly but that she doesnt look like Jill. NuLeon's problem was mostly that they botched his characterization.
Personally I prefer the more built Jill from the CG cutscenes anyway. I'm more concerned about her voicework. Disher had this steely determination but was also weary and empathetic. That kind of nuance doesnt really happen much anymore especially from Capcom these days.

Not gonna lie, I preferred playing RE over Pac-Man.
Going into a new room and having to run in circles to throw him off the scent was a drag. X was better implemented in the original.

Nuance? We're talking Resident Evil series, the pinacle of gaming b movie campy hammy acting ridiculed and endeared over it since its inception. There's no nuance there outside perhaps being a kid and not knowing any better back in the day, just projecting the serious business.
The whole of RE3 was a short action heavy romp through raccoon city locations with very little if anything in the way of puzzles and such stuff (people often blame RE4 for taking the series there but it was obvious since 3, if not 2 already), you want a different game altogether?

Julia Voth was great, but she hasn't been Jill since 2012, and I think the RE3make Jill actually looks more the the original RE3 Jill's CG model than Voth.

I disagree on both counts. Leon especially. For background, Leon is bar none my favorite video game character, and OGRE2 was my first RE. NuLeon was SPOT ON to how I imagined him in OGRE2, with a hint of RE4 Leon added in (I'm also glad they removed the "drunk before first day" detail with him; IMO it was always a dumb detail that felt inconsistent with the character). Idealistic (strong sense of responsibility), dorky but endearing rookie. They even did a good job of modernizing the delivery of his corny lines. They absolutely nailed him.
NuJill doesn't use the likeness of Julia Voth, but she still looks like Jill. Sharp features, blue eyes, and perfect hair. She looks more like OGRE3 Jill than Julia Voth did (same exact hairstyle but darker brown, same eyebrows and blue eyes, same sharp features and face shape; really, it looks like they tried to model her more after the OGRE3 design than anything). Don't get me wrong, REmake Voth Jill is the best design of her we've had (I'd even prefer her), but that doesn't ruin NuJill or make her look any less like Jill. Plus, it's better than the deformed Voths we've had since REmake. She looked weird in RE5 and Revelations, like they only used Voths eyes (with changed eye color) and pasted that detail onto different people.

I never really liked Voth Jill to begin with. She looked like a strung out drug addict in REmake. This new Jill is better than everything post RE3 I'll give it that.
Well, just have to disagree on Leon. A lot of his best moments and touches were just flat out omitted from the REmake and the altered dynamic with Ada didn't help matters. I don't really blame the actor he did the best with what Capcom saddled him with.

So yeah RE2 DLC before March 2020 and RE3 sometime after 2020. Seems logical. Adding Brad Vickers to RE2 as a tease would be a good move.

I'm not a huge Jill (Leon, Rebecca, and Claire the GOATs) or RE3 fan (it was my second least favorite entry in the old style games after 0; way too fast paced and action packed for the fixed angles/tank controls style IMO), but a new take might warm me up to both.

New Jill and Carlos look just fine. The characters looks have been changed so often over the years it‘s become kind of a staple for the series. And I‘m saying this as a day one fan. Can‘t believe people still get upset about this.

What is wrong with ya all complaining about designs and comparing with design from 20 years ago? I find new designs fine and they aren't something completely different, you can perfectly tell Jill is Jill, Nemesis is Nemesis. Nemesis has nose(or whatever's left of it), lol, gimme a break.
