I've seen it compared to a shoebox, but even those have a more interesting look by virtue of at least having a lid, this is just a zero effort rectangular box.

I'm honestly surprised they didnt just go the whole hog, and make it a flat grey colour, since it's so obviously designed to be as uninteresting and unexciting as possible otherwise.

The name "Xbox" is simply too literal here lol. It's just a desktop computer design with some indentation at the top that resembles the original Xbox, I didn't see that at first and I think it was a nice touch. Other than that, I just think it's too big like the base Xbox One when it launched. But the only thing I care about are exclusives and an affordable price.

I see this argument style a lot.

The problem is you are taking one group of people's comments to say another group of people's comments contradict the original group's comments, by lumping them as the same person/people - they're not.

Who gives a fuck how it looks like if it has great specs combined with great airflow enabling it to push some serious powah?
(I actually don't know if it has either of those things, but I'd atleast assume the case is designed with good airflow in mind)

Tbh, $400 seems like a great launch price depending on the specs.

Design just evokes power. MS clearly demonstrated the superiority of their engineering when it comes to cooling with the 1X. It is absolutely whisper quiet unlike the Pro so if this design delivers the performance promised with the same sound profile sign me up!

Almost like what steam machines could have been had Valve been smart enough to push just one PC instead of dozens.

I am dreaming about seeing Halo Infinite on this thing. E3 can’t come soon enough.

I hear ya but I really think it should become standard this upcoming gen, asking people who want that feature to pay 5 times the price is ridiculous in my opinion. Plus there is a need for a couple of extra buttons because as games have gotten more complex so too have their control schemes, RDR2 comes to mind in that regard. We're seeing more and more button combinations in order to perform certain actions.

It's not to do with just the locations I believe as most controllers are alike, just the paddles and swapable buttons etc but I do know they reached an agreement to produce the Elite.

kinda reminds me of the mac pro trashcan tower too, granted not glossy or curved.

It's the width/depth of a controller and the height/length of just over two.

As quiet as the X1 and well ventilated.

I think it looks fantastic, all MS hardware looks great these days. I'd love to see it in different colours. Special editions will look great.

If MS could not get 12tf into a quiet set top box I have no confidence that Sony can judging by the amount of noise my Pro makes. I’m guessing PS5 will also have an unconventional shape. Either that or it will be significantly louder or weaker.

For the top end of the series (Scarlett), $600 would not surprise me. For the cheaper model (Lockheart), I'm guessing $300, if its true that it will be less powerful than an X.

Gamers and Microsoft will roll their eyes at just about anything, its not easy by any means pleasing gamers.

After watching this video I’m now seeing where everybody is getting all the misinformation from. Three times taller Than a pad and 4x more powerful than an X... no. It’s just over two times taller than your standard Xbox controller, but the new controller is smaller, something people haven’t even thought of when making these comparisons. But even if you say the controller is the same size, it’s still just over 2 times the width for its height. So about 28-30cm tall, and 14-15cm wise.

Awful reporting in this video. Really poor. But then it is gamespot.

I think the design is the bollocks personally, and the size of it screams power, this console will be awesome and I am excited to be going with MS console first next gen. Its amazing to me how their approach has made me turn from hating them and their policies ('that' E3) to having a great deal of respect for the way Phil has stepped in and steered the ship around. Sony I kinda feel the other way about, so I will wait until there are 3 or 4 exclusives out before I pick up the PS5.

It was modeled after PC's.

It sounds like it'll be pretty powerful so that's definitely a factor in its design. I do like the top though, reminds me of the original Xbox.
