However I don't think this makes much sense because if PS5 has enhanced BC these PS4 games would benefit more because people would buy them because of PS5 hype, unless Sony has launch PS5 games which look vastly better and they don't want them to steal the PS4 games thunder.

I would love a deeper game with driveclub DNA to be like street racing or at least you can modify your car. DriveClub is much more fun to me than GT and other sims and feels hybrid in that matter.

Both of these are true.

2GHz was insane to do in a console.

It was always speculated with Oberon being Nav10.

At one time Ariel and Oberon were the same just with a name change.

Rt and vrs were just turned off.

PS5 being RDNA 2 flips all this on its head.

So that's the million dollar question right now. Just how many cu's does the PS5 gpu has? RDNA 2, but only using 36? 40?

I think the holiday season especially black Friday for this year is the perfect time to get 4k 120hz UHDTV with the following specs for next gen:

HDMI 2.1 with amd freesync/variable refresh rate
HDR10+ and Dolby Atmos
wifi6 built in
4k with 120hz refresh rate

Don't rollout Dolby Vision, it could be implemented in next gen consoles. But I hope they support both HDR10+ and Dolby Vision so no one is left out.

Really, that may seem anti climatic. But that’s it. Who knows. Is it corona? Is it behind schedule? Is it fear of being slower? Is it big PS4 titles coming out? Is it just not time? Is there nothing to any of this at all?

Sony, for all their arrogance, cockiness and big headedness at times... are not stupid. They are not deaf. They are not blind.

So they hear everybody, the cries, the moans, the people posting funny videos on their tweets.

Whatever they are doing, they know full well.

It’s just not time... Yet. But when they do, expect bombs. Even if it’s 9.2. Even if it’s 11.6. Even if it’s 12.4. They will hammer the point home so much it will make most wish they were silent again.

The next tine I get a new tv, I was going to look into a TCL because they are cheap, now at Costco Canada, and reading forums they are supposed to be good. I'll make sure to check out its HDR at the store somehow.

New TCL lineup are great and receiving amazing reviews, don't roll them out. Just avoid OLED's like you avoid a whore, they'll be ruined within 1-5 years of usage depending on how "lucky" you are.

We should open a dicussion about that right before Black Friday, when most people will be getting both the console/TV combo.

To me I hope TCL 8-Series 8K or at least 6-Series hit our market, we only get low-budget ones. Might go for Sony XH90 65" for color accuracy and as I think it'll be advertised alongside PS5. Samsungs are good but don't support Dolby Vision and extremely expensive, so better check if both consoles will support HDR10+ before buying.

The major issue I have though, is with the people in the lockhart thread. I’ve never rolled my eyes so much in my entire life, it’s utterly embarrassing.

I understand having brand loyalty after having a Xbox or Playstation for years, and that's totally fine. I'm a Playstation guy myself. What I don't understand is how toxic things have gotten over these two console's specs...it's ridiculous. You'd think you would want both consoles to be insane, and for studios on both sides to pump out the best games possible. Wanting one console to be worse in some aspect is such a weird concept.

This car model looks already perfect to my eyes. IMO polyphony can use existing car models in GT7 (just with max LOD even during the race) and focus on ligthing and track details instead.

As a modeler myself I can see a fair few smoothing issues on there where they didn’t quite use the correct chamfering one the right places.

However... the sheer fuck ton of cars they have to make, I wouldn’t even try and say that’s an issue.

The lighting in the replays and stuff in GT was ok, could be better. The lighting in the game was weak. These are the areas you will see MASSIVE gains in. But anybody can chuck more polygons at an asset.

There were times with several racing games this gen, that it came over almost photo real. Next gen will be nuts for racing fans, on either system.

They didn’t know what they were doing with the PS3 launch and Vita. They know people want them to have an E3 presence. They know people wanted cross-play but they didn’t care to act. 2GHz didn't make sense before. The AMD info confirms some things wrt github, no problem with that. It also raises quite a few new questions too.
