Digital didn't really take off until this generation.
They didn’t leave, they were forcibly removed.
Apparantly they moderate by reports and team blue loves smashing the button.
Team green needs to use that report button more. Stop turning the other cheek when they are baiting you into bans.
I think for too long, Xbox players got used to playing against each other and we let it all slide.
Now they have entire discord’s planned out and reply to try to bait people into bans, and that kind of shit has to stop.
It shouldn’t be about trying to get the other team banned, it should be about all gamers enjoying our time in games.
I'm really surprised to see that kind of ratio in favor of what appears to be the weaker system by a significant margin, both on IGN and here.
I'd expect that if the PS5 were significantly cheaper, and/or we were surveying casuals (maybe we are with IGN?), but it's odd to see passionate gamers, usually obsessed with every drop of performance, willingly cast that aside with what we know at the moment.
These consoles have 99% the same games, so if you're an enthusiast, why not go to the console with the best versions? I don't buy that an SSD faster than one that loads unoptimized games in six seconds, or a record of some stratospherically-overrated-but-good games are the difference maker here.
I suspect a lot of brand loyalty in play, or residual brand loyalty.
It'll be interesting to see if the trend changes in time (in-depth looks at games, comparisons, time for the spec info to soak in) , or plays out to the masses. Microsoft might have more work to do than thought.
DAT 1% is more important than you think.
You need to stop man. They didn’t leave, they were forcibly removed.

Only reason PS4 sold so much this gen is because MS had the biggest fuck up. Goes both ways.
And absolutely everything you said in this post can also apply to MS so not sure what your point is..?
This. Best version of third party games, plus Game Pass, is a deal I can’t pass up. Because I’m also very keen on PSVR2 when it eventually launches, pairing it with a PS5Pro just makes more sense. Will eventually own both but day one is all about Xbox Series X and in 2023, PlayStation 5 Pro.
That's Playstation for ya. I don't see a reason to be surprised, Playstation is a far stronger brand than Xbox will ever be. Despite this being brushed off as fanboy talk, it's just a fact.I'm really surprised to see that kind of ratio in favor of what appears to be the weaker system by a significant margin, both on IGN and here.

I don't think all that many people are that obsessed with getting the best experience possible for these games, and the few who are will just play on PC.These consoles have 99% the same games, so if you're an enthusiast, why not go to the console with the best versions?
That, and most people probably aren't willing to leave the game collection and friends they've made on PS4 behind just because the competition has 2 more flippity flops this time around.I suspect a lot of brand loyalty in play, or residual brand loyalty.
The launch lineup will probably affect this a lot.
If Sony drops a good launch title that is, which I doubt.
Except, no it doesn't. XBO's worst mistake, DRM, was erased before it even launched. It's 2nd mistake, price, was erased less than a year from launch. Sony had to deal with PS3's mistakes for nearly half the gen.
The truth remains, Xbox has yet to win a gen. It barely made it to 2nd place in its first go around, only beating the GC by 2M units, and was utterly destroyed by the PS2. For the 360, Xbox at its best lost to PS at its worst, and came in last that gen. How do you really think next gen is going to play out?
Brand perception is a real thing. They may have ~99% of the the same games, however they don't have the same exclusives. Exclusives are what make a console standout.
Except Sony had literally zero worthy exclusives until halfway of the generation when UC4 showed up, then HZD and GT, and so on, first 3 years were filled with literally nothing but cross-gens, remasters, and indie ports. But PS4 was selling like hotcakes from day one, so clearly not because of its (lack of) exclusives, it was all about that 399$ price tag.
In a similar fashion, no one was interested in PS3 despite how strong PS2 ended, with most of Playstation's iconic/legendary series still being around, that were obviously getting their next installments on the PS3, people simply turn their backs away just like that for 100$ cheaper X360, that even already had a paid online.
Long story short, price > everything else. Exclusives are thing of the past, one AAA 1st party title per year won't make majority of customers want to pay any extra. Statistics don't like, CoD, BF, GTA, Fifaetc., those are the most played games, on a daily basis even, whoever offers the cheaper box that allows to play those games wins, while exclusives are just a nice bonus.
The point is that Microsoft's fuckups with the XB1 were fixable immediately. Sony's fuckup with the PS3 was impossible to fix because that would mean completely redesigning the console which would be unfeasible.Oh okay so all those monumental fuck ups had no impact on XBO sales ? Okay I obviously cant take anything you say seriously.
Also PS2 launched 1 year before the Xbox.... That also had no impact on sales right ?
So only when Sony fucks up it counts, and only when Xbox launches 1 year earlier it explains why they did so well...
Also we have no official numbers of how many units the 360 sold at the end as MS stopped reporting at 85 million. The consensus is that it was pretty much a tie. Only Sony fanboys pretend like Sony won that gen. Just like how they are pretending now that a fast SSD makes up for a crap CPH/GPU/RAM combination. It's a Sony fanboy thing to live in delusional land.
Actually the consensus is that the 360 dominated that gen, was the most popular and lead platform for développement but you'll never admit it.
Hey man, if you want to live in your dream world that's all good with me really
As someone pointed out, this generation was the worst gen for MS to fuck up on because digital sales rose substantially. That also means consumers have locked considerable amounts of money behind ecosystems. This ends up disincentivizing migration because that would mean the products they invested in become worthless.

While the XBO fuckups didn't help, they didn't have nearly the same impact as the PS3's. Those could not have been fixed before launch. What hurt MS the most was not them screwing up, but Sony coming back big. And they didn't just start with PS4, like MS is attempting with XBX. They started in 2009 with the PS3. They dropped the price to $299, pushed it hard with advertising and great exclusives. This gen, MS has done the opposite. If a gen isn't going their way, they basically give up and start getting ready for next gen. They did it with the OG Xbox. The last year or two of the 360's lifetime. And now half the gen with the XBO. There's no wonder quite a few gamers have lost confidence in them.
And Dreamcast launched 1 year before the PS2. And two years before the Xbox and Gamecube. What's your point? I guess in your mind that should guarantee victory? Hmm, are you saying the only reason 360 had a chance is because it launched a year early? I guess XBX doesn't have a shot in Hell then.
MS stopped reporting because there was nothing to report. Their console sales dried up as NA/UK quickly transitioned to PS4/XBO in 2015 and beyond, while the PS3 still sold in EU and Japan. There were some months that the amount that 360 won by in NPD was completely undone by a week of PS3 sales in Japan. And for the entire gen, PS3 only lost 2 years in WW sales to 360. 2006 and 2008. 2007, 2009-2012 PS3 won. So, no 360 wasn't the most popular. Only in the US and UK did it have any real sales advantage. No matter how you wish to cut it, Xbox's best lost to Sony's worst. If it makes you feel any better it was by <5M units.
Lol, so PS5 has a crap CPU, GPU, and RAM, now? Oh, boy. Talk about not being able to take anything you say seriously.
Okay so you've reached the point where you're talking straight up BS + making up stuff. So I think it's better we leave it at that ✌
In other words, you have no rebuttal. But, you are right, quit while you are behind. Fun debate, though.
If you're reliant on catchphrases rather than actual arguments, then that says a lot about how well your claims hold up to scrutiny. The ad nauseam fallacy in your 2nd paragraph doesn't help either when the rebuttal was already presented to you and you never actually addressed it. A fuckup that can be fixed in less than a year is easier to recover from than a fuckup that you have to deal with all generation.A wise man said "never argue with a fool". Not saying you're a fool but basically it means don't argue with people you feel are making zero sense. It's a waste of time and energy.
Just the fact that you think launching a console a 600$ is worse than the trainwreck that the Xbox One was at reveal means we don't see things in the same light, which is fine
The difference is bigger than the launch Xbox and ps4 and if you remember back then during that first year or two every single game that came out had texture and resolution comparisons (720p for Xbox and 900p for ps4).I have to laugh at people calling the PS5 weak or inferior, the difference is negligible at best, even smaller than the difference between the X and Pro.
Both consoles will be amazing, but the brand name and top tier exclusives will always mean Playstation sells much better worldwide than the Xbox.
Actually, it is unclear who won the PS3 vs X360 in terms of hardware sales. I think it's quite clear that the X360 won the software sales. If you factor in the RROD, no one can really call the X360 a losing console.Except, no it doesn't. XBO's worst mistake, DRM, was erased before it even launched. It's 2nd mistake, price, was erased less than a year from launch. Sony had to deal with PS3's mistakes for nearly half the gen.

If Microsoft can truly bring an A Grade launch line up, they should be able to compete. But I’m under no illusions - the PS4 basically has this entire generation to itself, so of course there’s going to be amazing excitement for the PS5, and I expect it to be the sales leader.
Okay so you've reached the point where you're talking straight up BS + making up stuff. So I think it's better we leave it at that
Except everything he said was right.
That's a rather accurate description of yourself.Coming from you lol. That's like a North Korean giving his views on North Korean politics.
Sony fanboys are by far more vocal and active on social medias than Xbox fanboys, it's not surprising.
With that said PS5 will probably sell more regardless, their exclusives just pander super hard to '' normies '' and they have a lot of big franchises under their belt.
They all try to pander "super hard" to normies. It's just that Microsoft started this generation convinced that those normies wanted to use their consoles to watch TV. Then, after realizing normies liked games after all, they spent the rest of it thinking those games were Halo, Gears and Forza. Let's see if they've learned their lesson. With that said PS5 will probably sell more regardless, their exclusives just pander super hard to '' normies '' and they have a lot of big franchises under their belt.
