You missed the word 'intern'. Then he went into management. He says it all himself in the video you linked.
I didn't hear that he went into management straight away. Also which intern do you know went from programmer to management? Can't imagine that you can skip all those steps in between at a company like Microsoft.

Sorry if this was posted already.

These measurements seem plausible to me.
PS5 might be a big boi but if it comes down to small margins it will be easier to place next to the TV.

What a horribly written article.

Sony, on the other hand, hasn’t been as forthcoming when it comes to backwards-compatibility. We know that the majority of PS4 games will work on PS5, but we’re unlikely to see any support for PS1 and PS2 games other than via digital re-releases, and PS3 games will likely be reserved for streaming through PS Now, which isn’t a great experience. It’s clear which console will have the most games to play at launch, then.

They have to add their own subjective opinion to invalidate PS Now just to keep their dumb narrative going.

While we know the PS5 DualSense controller includes many of the same features of the DualShock 4, such as the touchpad, lightbar, speaker and headphone jack, it’s unclear as to whether Sony will let you use its older controllers and accessories in the same way on PlayStation 5. If it doesn’t, then all those spare controllers you own will be left to gather dust, and with the DualSense's fancy features pointing to an expensive price tag, you’ll need to dip into your cash reserves if you’re after a second pad.

Why is there any doubt about the PS5 supporting PS4 controllers? The PS3 controller worked on PS4 even though it lacked features. PSVR was already confirmed. The wireless headset was confirmed also. The PS4 has BC, so of course it will work unless you believe it will be software blocked on PS5 games.

Smart delivery is just cross-play with a new shiny name slapped on it.
Their point about play anywhere is dumb because Sony's games are exclusives which increases the value of their hardware.

That's unfortunate. Microsoft is positioning themselves to have quite an impressive arrangement of first party titles.

Positioning themselves is great and all, but that’s all it is. It's hard to sell positioning.

Once they’ve actually delivered them then we can talk. And I’m definitely willing to listen.

Problem is that there’s been much “jam tomorrow” with Xbox, and Phil is so great at talking the talk, but the reality is that it’s really been a long while since they actually delivered. Honestly, when was the last year of great Xbox exclusives? 2010?

It's a bit like my football team. We were once great, even a force on the European stage, but that was a long time ago. Season after season the optimism comes, we've got a really great squad, young players coming through, manager looks to have made some astute signings. Yet a month or two into the season the reality hits. Results don’t quite come. Never mind, there so much young talent, it’ll come good, maybe next year,

it’s the hope that kills you.

Yet Project XCloud could be a game changer for "reasons" ...

Completely fair and balance article said:
Sony was quick to the cloud gaming scene with PS Now, but the service has faced criticism for being overpriced and the overall experience being a shaky one. Sony has also been using the service to primarily stream PS3 games with mixed results.

Like all the PS4 games you can also download don't exist ...

Completely fair and balance article said:
I’ve tried the Project XCloud beta myself and, despite the usual gripes that cloud gaming can bring such as visual artifacts and the odd stutter in connection quality, it’s left me considerably impressed.

Not tried PSNow but it's bobbins, Project XCloud is aces though...

Completely fair and balance article said:
Cloud gaming still isn’t ready for mass adoption, though (sorry, Stadia), and Microsoft is acutely aware of this. But being able to play when you’re in a pinch or can’t be bothered to fight over who gets the TV is an awesome option to have.

An option PS4 has had since launch with remote play.

No matter how often you say this, it is simply not true. Stop spreading FUD.

In fact: XSX is launching with at least two games that are coming to XSX and not to XBOX ONE.

These games are coming to PCs though.

I would be interested seeing a game built from ground up to only run on Series X. But we wont see this. That's a big block and why lots of people will just go PC and PS5/Switch.

that is simply not true, stop spreading fud

When talking about next-gen exclusives (since you're both responding to a post with that very same wording), I guess you're simply referring to games that do not come out on Xbox One, right? I mean, not exclusives in the sense Sony has with its first party. I'm guessing you're referring to Scorn and The Medium.

And your point is? We were talking about hardware engineers. Spencer isn't one.
You said he wasn't an engineer and went from intern to management. Which isn't true... First of all he's a software engineer, and went from that to a management function, but that takes years.

Scorn - indie
Medium - indie, previous blobber games were boring

To be honest I've liked hellblade because I'm a doctor and I loved how psychiatric disorder was shown in that game. But it was so boring I was so happy when I finished it. Only game I've liked on Xbox this gen was quantum break. On sony side I loved most of exclusives. Thats why I refuse to buy xbox again until they show me at least one AAA game that can compete with Sony Studios.

this is extremely subjective, for example I own PS4 pro, and most of Sony exclusives but the whole collection is collecting dust, I found most of Sony exclusives boring myself, I am still sucker for buying these games based on reviews and trailers.

DS3 works with PS4? I remember trying to do it and failing. DS4 working with PS5 is a given due to BC and PSVR.

re: those asking about switching to the digital console and keeping your disc games.

I can't find concrete evidence for it, but it seems that every PS4 disc has a unique id. That would mean that an upgrade path would be possible, but it would sort of be messy.

1. Register that unique disc and game with PSN.
2. Have that game added to your PSN collection, allowing you to then download it to your PS5.
3. If someone else tries to register the same disc, they would be refused.

I can't see this being able to stop a person essentially making a PSN copy of the disc and then giving it to someone else to use. A check of the disc id against PSN would be required, which would mean needing to have the console connected to the internet whenever a new game disc is inserted. Not sure people would like that. That's going hard into the draconian DRM arena.

I really believe Sony will amp their efforts with PS Now next gen. I expect much more countries supported, a Plus + Now fusion announcement like Gamepass Ultimate and a better roster of incoming games to the service(day and date releases, never!!!), there was even rumours about being able to try any game on PS Store for a small period using streaming. And I'm not counting on being able to download all catalog if PS2-PS3 BC is a thing.

Of course it would, instead of writing that they have an extensive range of games coming like the poster I responded to.
This isn’t aimed at anyone in particular but MS upcoming first party is being dismissed by many already which I find odd. I guess we will find out soon either way

I don't know, if what you said was possible we could have digital versions of our discs right now, but we don't. It could be a technical limitation or plain lack of interest.

Alot of the hate i would imagine come from silly Trolls, I have seen some crazy scores from people in regards to reviews like zeros, ones and two's. You know straight away these are bullshit.

I played the first one, i did not consider it a masterpiece like many people do but it was still a damn good game, at least an 8/10 imo.

Some people are annoyed that Elle is a lesbian which is pathetic, at the end of the day its their game, their vision.
Some people are annoyed that Neil Druckmann has a personal agenda, i remember watching a Robin gaming video about it, it was interesting to say the least.

I love writing short stories, and would hate to have to change my vision of something because some one is offended by what they do not like.

I am really glad your enjoying the game, really want to hear some feedback when your done.

Well, just beaten the game an hour ago. A really heavy game, story, gameplay with lots of gore. The story has been masterfully tailored, impressive work. Not sure what the spoilers said, but to me the whole story makes 100% sense and gives amazing/different perspectives to give a bigger idea.

Only had minor issues that the game doesn't support Astro A40 optical audio and only gives 2.0, used the TV 3.5 aux and works perfectly. It breaks the norm, it breaks that layer of predictability in Hollywood movies.

I don't wanna talk a lot about the story, but I advice people to try it and never listen to the noise. You won't regret it. To me it's extremely hard to see Cyberpunk 2077, GoT beating it for 2020 GOTY. My only problem is that at survivor difficulty it's using a cheap method of barely giving you any bullets. Even if you kill 5-6 armed enemies silently and they didn't fire any bullet you might not get a single bullet! Tweaked down resources difficulty to moderate and still feels unrealistic in that regard, it can kill your scavenging joy. I beaten the game and didn't upgrade more than 60-70% overall, it's that hard. Seems like pushing you for new game+.

Anyway, it's a 10/10.

It isn't odd. MS is admitting they are only releasing cross gen games for the first year, and that their 1st party Series X exclusives are 1 year away from launch.

We are not so much dismissing them as knowing they are too far away to worry about. Just like how the Pragmata trailer was beutiful, but it is too early to even talk about it considering how far away 2022 is.

I had a roommate interview and get hired there and it was a big process. He got ready by practicing word problems.

That's really good to hear, as for the difficulty method, yer that does indeed sound like a cheap way to up the difficulty, hopefully they will improve on it in further patches down the line.

Can't wait to play this on my PS5. WOOP WOOP

I owned it at launch and havent even started it. The day before I had electric issues in my home pop up. The deeper I got into it it kept getting worse.

Dealt with that and am now putting some drywall back up, its up Im about done sanding and ready for paint.

Ill be ready to start tomorrow evening. Havent looked at one spoiler because I want to experience it on my own.

Glad to hear you enjoyed it.

Probably because they promised many quality games during this ending generation and never delivered. I don't see a reason to be optimistic again but it's always nice to be surprised.
Well they delivered sequels of games that fans liked in previous consoles. The issue is that they were competing in the multiplayer space with Third Party studios. And it made no financial sense to steal customers away from third parties via GaaS, because third party game profits are basically free money for the console holder.

Sony didn't focus on Single Player experiences to please gamers; Sony was doing their job as a platform holder to balance out the games on offer on their machine. And by making money on single player games, they boost console sales, which then boost third party profits that they take 30% from.

It made no sense for Xbox to try and make another multiplayer FPS, or Battle Royale, or any other number of games that third party has already saturated. That is, unless Xbox is preparing to exit the console space and become third party. Because once they go third party they would lose their 30% rent, and all the third party studios become competitors rather than cash cows.

Not saying that is where they are going for real, but it certainly looks that way from a certain angle.

Nice sponsored article. Feels like 2012/early 2013 again.
i am not even bother to read it. i just posted it. i see every week pieces like that. a lot of usa press is in m$ pocket. you almost never see them questioning m$ politics, games, service and etc..

this remembers me two basketballs teams from my country, where one was owned by newspaper, so we used to get every week articles which shitted on other team, especially if there was a big match that week, we used to get even more.

Does that fit here? If not, please delete it, but I found it interesting.
According to DuskGolem (he is reliable, he got many things right in the past, including RE8), The Medium was supposed to be Silent Hill, but it was rejected by Konami and then reused, lol.

Well it wouldn’t be the first time something like this has happened so I guess it’s possible.

Which begs the obvious question .... where is the silent hill concept that Konami did decide to commission (if any)?

Is that rumour about a Sony exclusive true?

Golem hasn't been wrong yet. He said a number of studios did pitch to konami. And PS studios came out tops. Probably because they have members of Team Siren. Additionally PS were mending the Kojima relationship.

Remember the rumour of PS buying Konami IP of Metal Gear,Silent Hill ,Castlevania. I think it was a little bit off. Sony didnt buy the IPs but they have a license deal going on.Exclusive. Golem says there a silent hill reboot happening. I can connect the dots the question rumour.

Im expecting a MGS1 remake ,Silent Hill reboot , and a Castlevania in the mold of bloodborne.

People don't know. But PS have been helping the Jap publishers behind the scenes. konami is just next up.

Fits 100%, but be sure someone will report it to try to avoid the embarrasment.

I can imagine Konami saying, what the hell is this? :)
