Hmm, I wouldn't be too sure about that. They showed 24 games, that's a LOT of game to have in launch year. I expect Spider-Man, Horizon and GT7 in 2020-2021 but stuff like Ratchet, Demon Souls, Returnal seems to be further out.

Project Athia is interesting because rumors point to it coming a lot earlier than many expect, we shall see. There is plenty of unannounced stuff too, big-budget Sci-Fi RPG from Japan Studio, Silent Hill reboot by original Siren team, Supermassive game.
Imran Khan made it seem like Sony invested a lot and spent a lot of money to make it's year 1 lineup insane. And that they even held some stuff back. I could see Returnal being a 2022 game as well, but I genuinely think Demon's Souls and Ratchet are Spring/summer 2021 games.

Extremely short video shows some of the flaws, some people need to push themselves a bit and watch it:

There is like 6 people who thought it looked good. All these videos are a waste of time. The game looks like shit but just because someone doesn't point out everything that looks like shit doesn't mean they don't think it looks like shit either.

Sony marks the difference between PS4 and PS5 boxes
Microsoft does the opposite once again

Watch MS boast with their sales number because of this.

They are both 15 minute videos focusing on a few negatives. Wtf are you talking about. Did he talk faster in the gt7 video? He uses similar language in both and he isn't overly negative in either. You just want him to shit on everything Xbox and since he doesn't you can't jerk it to his videos. Get a new kink.

So be blind if you want!

Sony has had more 10 million plus selling 1st party titles this gen than any other, the gamepass model makes AAA single player games cost prohibitive and that's something Sony focuses on. Sony would get millions of one month subs every time they released a game and then they would cancel after they finish, so instead of selling 4-5 million copies very early on at full price they get those same people signing up and paying $10 to play the game and then cancel, it makes NO sense. MS has released something like two AAA games since Gamepass started, most of the studios they've purchased won't be making AAA content, t's not a system set up to pay for AAA gaming. There is no way gears 5 made it's money back, in it's first month it was number 7 on NPD and in the second month it wasn't even in the top 20 and that's in Xbox's strongest market.

You aren't going to get 50 million subs for any service like this either, gamepass has something like 10 million but that could just be for the best month of the reporting quarter, they never say how many are recurring or how many paid full price, don't forge they always have $1 trials going on.
Sony needs to keep the model the same. I'm on their platform for life, based on how they have delivered experience after experience. Probably the only company whose remasters are an instant purchase for me.

Dial back the juvenile insults.

This goes for everyone in this thread.

Guys, if you don't like DF's work then don't go on their channel, simple as that :) You can also start your very own channel with the same kind of content, nobody is stopping you. I think you guys get mad when you don't hear what you want to hear, so like I said, the channel is most likely not for you.
I see Xbox fans took your advice during those PS4/Xbox One DF comparisons till 2017, there was no one compl...oh, wait!!!

PS5 uses 100 GB Blu-rays, which are different from the regular 50 GB Blu-rays the PS4 uses. The 100 GB discs are called BDXLs, but I think they’re essentially the same as 4K UHD Blu-rays. So I think the console needs a 4K UHD drive to read them, so PS4 can’t read PS5 discs.
But what happens to those with Xbox One first model, if so? MS have just a single disc, either BDXL can be read in regular drives or there will be no BDXL at all for Xbox.

Only on the cross gen releases. Regardless of what MS first party is doing, third parties will move on to next-gen only and will use the 100GB disks if they need them.
Not necessarily. Microsoft controls the game disc format that can be used on their hardware, and I still can’t find any official comment from Microsoft on if Series X next gen games will use 100 GB discs.

So you might be right, but Microsoft might just stick with regular 50 GB Blu-rays as the official disc format for all Xbox consoles, and then have games download the rest of the data from servers, or maybe ship with 2 discs in the box. The Xbox 360 stuck with DVDs, while the PS3 used Blu-rays.

So it’s ultimately up to Microsoft and maybe I’m missing something, but I can’t find any confirmation they’re using a new larger disc for next gen. They have referenced game packages as “100 GBs of data” when discussing the SSD allowing for fast access to the game data, so it’s likely they will support the 100 GB discs, but it doesn’t seem to be officially confirmed yet.

I think that all hinges on whether the Xbox One's drive is compatible with 100gb discs.

I don’t think the original fat Xbox One from 2013 would be compatible, because it has a regular Blu-day drive. Just like I don’t think any PS4 will be compatible with PS5 discs.

So I think Microsoft might just stick with 50 GB discs and use the disc to unlock the game data, and any additional data will be downloaded when installing. And they mention Smart Delivery a lot, which is basically their way of saying “don’t worry, it’ll just work.”

They seem to want to focus on Game Pass, which is digital only, so selling game discs might not be their main focus. The game box seems telling. It just says Xbox on top, and then lists which consoles it is compatible with below. It seems to give them freedom to introduce more consoles over time and just use 1 disc and box, focusing on their platform brand and sorta de-emphasizing the single console to disc relationship Sony uses with PS4 and PS5.

I always assumed that the Blu Ray limitation in the PS4 was just in regards to video playback. It could still copy the contents of UHD Blu Rays disks to the hard drive.

The same way you can rip a 4K Blu Ray movie to your PC with just a standard blu ray player

August State of Play?

That's confusing as hell... Unified box with both PS4 and PS5 logos would've been better.

It is as seen on PC with RT on vs RT off... Anyway, nothing is stopping them for putting both versions on the disc, or at least store the PS5 patch on PSN so once the disc is booted on the PS5 the game gets properly updated.
Can BDXL be read in a regular drive? Does it cost the same as a regular Blu-ray disc? If both answers are no, then I can see what Sony is doing, and wondering how Xbox is coping with Xbox One first model incompatibility problem(unless XSX won't use BDXL, of course).

They could very well keep the old standard for compatibility's sake; at the end of the day, you won't be reading from disk as you play, or the SSD would be completely pointless.

I can't imagine putting an extra BD in the case is going to be expensive (especially if the alternative is using a single disk but of a newer and probably more expensive standard), and performing a preliminary full install from one or multiple disks, to then only ever use the first as authentication as you play, won't really make a particular difference.

Indeed... I thought it was clear that Xbox didn't have any exclusives since they also release on PC. Is this new information to you? This has been said million times already, because now people can say "Oh look there's no reason to have an Xbox since I can play their titles on my gaming PC".

Btw, I understood your post perfectly, but when you say "I guess that you counted timed exclusives for Xbox right ?", you better quote me or don't say something silly as if I don't understand that Xbox doesn't have exclusives.
So in you comparison Xboxs number of exclusive should just be 0.

I got a classic bolt action rifle though, but never tested it only for weddings and ceremonial events. :lollipop_tears_of_joy: I would like a small shotgun for protection from leopards/hyneas/wolves when hiking, although it's rare to encounter one but it's better be safe than sorry.
Best small shotgun is the KalTec KS7. You can fit 17 mini slugs in the little beast.

As a guy who only buys physical copies of games, I care a lot about the package. Call it silly, but when I move on to the PS5, I want a new, nice clean game case design without any mention of PS4. I think it's great to separate the two, makes it look cleaner and just.. Nicer. A better package.
But should we be able to just buy one disc that can work with both consoles? Isn’t that cleaner more efficient?

Of course :)
Purchase PSN funds through Amazon of the country you want the account to relate to. I.e. if you're in Europe, sign up for US Amazon. Purchase digital psn card and redeem it on your playstation account.

That's all, pretty simple :D
That won't work for certain subscription options, if you try to sign 1-month or 3-month options it will ask for billing nonetheless.

So, 1 PS5 CU=2 Cell SPU.
So a single SPU FLOPS= 2*1*4*3.2=25,6 GFLOPS
So PS4 whole CPU FLOPS=2*8*2*1,6=51,2 GFLOPS

I´m bored af and wrong, but for funsies .. :p

PS5 10.28Tflops : 36 = 285GFlops per CU@2.23Ghz
XSX 12.1Tflops : 52 = 233Gflops per CU@1.85Ghz

32Thread 3950X@4.2GHz = 537Gflops
16Thread 9900K@5Ghz = 320Gflops
1x PS5 GPU CU@2.23GHz = 285Gflops
11x PS3 SPUs@3.2Ghz = 281Gflops
1x XSX GPU CU@1.85GHz = 233Gflops
XSX 16Thread CPU@3.6Ghz = 230.4Gflops
PS5 16Thread CPU@3.5Ghz = 224.0Gflops

1x RX6900XT SU = 3.4Gflops * 6144 = 21.32Tflops
1x RTX2080ti SU = 3.0Gflops * 4352 = 13.45Tflops

wait so no sequel?!

Many sequels, but tiny ones. ;)

“Either way, physical games for the PS5 will use 100-GB optical disks, inserted into an optical drive that doubles as a 4K Blu-ray player.“

I think Sony can force all games to use the same size discs, as it’s their console and ultimately Sony control all games on the PS5. The official PS5 game disc format is decided by Sony, and I think they have always required all games on each console to use the same disc format. If I recall correctly, PS3 used 25 GB discs, PS4 uses 50 GB discs, and PS5 will use 100 GB discs.

Doesn't seem like it would need to be that complicated. The dual gen disks will obviously be 50GB, with them either just putting the Xbone version on there (with the XSX version downloaded during the install process) or they'll use multiple disks (these things are cheap and it only applies during the install process to begin with). I don't see how it's an issue either way.
So, we have this situation all over again:
