So 4K 60fps is the performance mode and 4K 30fps is the ray tracing mode.

Sounds fucking good to me. Will go for the 60fps mode however as I don't really see how much ray tracing will affect this game, especially when swinging really fast.

Psst. HD Ports are always a full generation ahead. They port a game to the next generation and add graphical effects, improve resolution and sometimes even redo character models.

Is the original spiderman bundled with this game? I didn't play the original, so I am super excited for this. I spent too much time in PC land, and it's time to return home to consoles.

The Lost Legacy comparison hurts, at least that was a new area. This game is the map of the 1st but with snow. At least they prob cranked it out fast not having to make new areas.

You dont actually know this. There could be new areas for Miles to explore, as well as existing ones.

Best comparison for this game is actually RE3 remake.

trying to figure out how to describe the game. It’a not dlc because don’t need the original game but it’s not new because it uses the old map. But when the developers did the same thing in 2 previous games it was dlc but not now since its the only launch game for the ps5 it can’t be labeled as dlc even though there direct comparison was dlc for uncharted 4....

It’s just so dam confusing!

As I say, it’s like RE3 remake. Same locations, new extensions, new story.

Looks great; Miles version looks a bit skinnier than Peter's, that might be the effect of the black suit. Level of detail is super-good on the character model and environmental details.

You're responsible for setting a proper tone in your opening post so you can't try to waiver you don't want hottakes and worthless console war banter in your thread when your own thread title is meant to rile up extreme reactions, and then you frame your OP around it.

If you want quality engagement, put quality effort in your OPs. And I like all of the PS5 games you mentioned, you're just leaving out equally impressive Series X games to drive home a narrative that makes for better drama than genuine discussion.

Uhhh, not always. My PS3 collections of God of War and Devil May Cry are just PS2 games with higher resolutions and stable framerates.

HD ports usually ain't shit, just upscaled to make a quick buck.
This is no HD port, it is next-gen. If you think this doesn't look next-gen you must've found most of the stuff shown so far to look like utter trash?

Current gen doesn't look like utter trash. Ghost of Tsushima looks ridiculous on my base PS4. So does Spider Man.

I said it looks like a large DLC add on for a PS4 game, ported to next gen with some new graphics effects. Spider Man 2 will hopefully look much better, and I think the devs themselves have basically said that expectations shouldn't be sky high for Miles Morales. It's a "side story."

As for all the rest of stuff out at launch, there's nothing that interests me at all. Sports, Assassin's Creed, Bugsnax. I'm cool waiting a while and playing Cyberpunk.

It's a nice screenshot. Pretty good upgrade for what is essentially a slightly upgraded engine for PS5. I might give it a chance, but we'll see. The original game couldn't keep my attention long enough to finish, but it being a shorter experience may help.

Damn, yo. This console war and this wait for these new consoles really got people turning into fanboys. I wonder if some of you actually enjoy video games. Some of you take this console war thing way to seriously, it's video games... relax, it's suppose to be fun.

Spider-Man was great fun, definitely looking forward to jamming on this.

I assume that RT will be in the 30fps “quality” mode?

I’ll be personally sticking to the 4K 60.

Miles will play differently and animate quite differently

And Spiderman is always going to take place in New York. That doesnt mean they can't expand it further, asd more locations, streets, variety, interiors.

And with less effort to actually build a new city from scratch Im excited for what they will come up with. I'm betting it's an overall better package than the original

One is in 1440p with upscaling checkerboarding and the other is in 4k now whether you can see the difference or not without zooming in 400% closer is another story lol
