If you think it wasn't proven in the first place based on cinematics and not gameplay.. why do you guys continuously show cinematics to represent advanced graphics tech when we all know every single cinematic doesn't represent what the true capabilities of the GPU/CPU with game code can do? I compared cinematics for cinematics and not a single one of you challenged me in that thread. In fact, some PS gamers agreed with my demonstration.

But even so with HFW upscaling and running something at a native resolution are technically not the same thing.

Hey VFX i'm curious to know what other games you haven't played this gen that you think are overated

So I had a PS4 Pro before.

I've owned every single big blockbuster title (and played but didn't finish) on the PS4s this gen:

Horizon Zero Dawn: played up to the first big boss fight
God of War: played after I finished the undergrown dungeon and was on a boat moving to another island
Uncharted 4: finished it.
Spiderman: Got about 50% done and quit.
Detroit: Become Human: Finished it.
The Order 1866: Finished it.
Killzone Shadow Fall: 75% done.

I sold my PS4 Pro and all the games to buy a Nintendo Switch and a lot of games on that platform.
Everything else was played on the PC this gen.

There was no 3rd party game overrated because people just didn't go crazy of those games even though they had great tech.. BUT, some of the PC players thought very positive of the Ray-traced games like Control and Metro. Those games, while technically advanced graphically, failed to present in the artistic direction. I hated the look of both of them. So I'd say they were overrated.

The only PS4 game on here that I would say is overrated was God of War. It had nowhere near the graphics advancement I was looking for compared to how extraordinary beautiful it was touted.

Of that PS4 list, the ones that really deserve a crown in graphics tech AND artist mastery are these:

Horizon Zero Dawn
Detroit
The Order 1866

All 3 games exceeded my expectations and were wonderful displays of graphics tech + artistic talent.

I personally hope Sony doesn't fall into the 4K trap. Instead opting to give me the option to either have that (native or checkerboard type, I don't really care as I don't use a magnifying glass to play my games); or play at 1440p (or equivalent) with good HDR and all the bells and whistles at hopefully higher frame rates.

I don't have a resolution sensor like DF. I think it's all done in 4k/30FPS. It's going to be a real-time cinematic for sure.

I still believe that PS5 DE will be 399. Don't underestimate earnings that Sony can get from Playstation stores digital sales. But the PS5 BD version gonna be expensive though.

I’m a serious believer that Sony will do $399 DE and $499 BD. 50%+ of game purchases are digital (as of their last report) and they always get a 30% cut, they just need to put 2 and 2 together.

As I mentioned before already, it is definitely a good sign that the worse thing people can say about PS5 games is that "the graphics HAD to be fake! It is too good!"

It had always been Xbox showcases that had complete lies. I would never forget the Kinect reveal, where litterally not once was the real Kinect was shown to work. At least with Nintendo, they did Skyward Sword reveal with the real wii controller.

At this point I had to realize that "Sony Two" is not just relevant in gaming. The assumption of many American is that whatever their team is doing that was bad, MUST also be done by the opposition with no evidence whatsoever. And that this is entirely automatic and done without needing conscious control. It had to be automatic, because most people are more creative about lying. The Sony Two phenomena is so ingrained that they don't even see it as deception, because they didn't need to think.

i know it's very hard for you to grasp that gameplay can be captured with different camera angles.
but even then HFW cinematics are way better looking then HZD If you can disprove my claim then by all means do it..

Yup, the sole purpose and only reason for Ps5 DE version exist is to undercut XSX. Sony is smart , they gonna price match with XSX and will make PS5 DE 100$ more cheaper than BD version to force customers into buying DE version to lock customers only buy at Playstation store. So then earns back from Digital sales at Playstation store. This is pure speculation from me. Could be wrong..

I don't have a gaming PC, my PC is shit, and I don't own a Xbox One, therefore all of the multiplat games I own are exclusive to PS4.
Call of Duty? Exclusive.
Minecraft? Exclusive.

I look for things in graphics tech. Things that will push gaming forward to CG. A "1-take" is a game design strategy not a graphics technical feature.

So you look at the toolset applied, not how well it’s been used in its application.

For example, a game with 10 rendering features that may look a bit average, is preferred by your metric than a game with 7 features that looks stunning due to how well those features were applied.

Now we’re getting somewhere. Not many people work on this sort of wavelength, probably why you get a lot of friction. Especially from Sony people who by and large value craftsmanship probably a bit higher.

yep I like it, I mean my pc is absolute garbage, i3-2100 old 1050 graphics and it ran grim dawn fine, yes I had some stutter here and there.

That Lockheart, yes people hate it cos its not the big mean powerful xbox 12 tflop monster bla bla but compared to my pc, its like 3-4 times better. perfect for that game. Also games like willow and the whisps. that must run good also.


299 price i still think is a bit high for it, I am hoping 250 but still, it's not too shabby for a price.

I could stick it next to my ps4 pro and get the best out of both worlds.
Saying that, this is option B, and by B i mean along way back, please please ps5 be 400.

here besides the obvious, power difference, there is the fact that they have optimization problems, as well as programmers (quantity) ...
if i were to talk about resolution i would kick some 720p (source my ass) and i'm talking about the software, not about hardware PS5 ok.

Finally, somebody with relevent input. I would think the PS5 would capable of more than 720p for this??
