I know it's probably mainstream gaming sites mining for clicks on news that we discussed here weeks ago (GAF > Internet > Facebook), I'm just wondering where the underlying rumor nugget came from?

PS5 has USB-C if it came down to it they could sell a external GPU.

Type C is just the connector. You need at least a Thunderbold 3 or USB4 port which itself is connected through pci-e to get 40Gbit/s.

Considering Spiderman MM got rated recently along with Demon souls. I expect demon souls to be a launch game.

how good is demon souls? I heard it was the hardest souls game to play? I’ve platinumed BB and Sekiro. Played DS3but I couldn’t commit to getting all the miracles, rings and sorceries etc. I just hope Demon souls is fast paced like DS3, BB and sekiro.

It's my favorite souls game because it was my first. The remake will definitely give it the revival and refurbishing it needs, though.

I heard a few people mention the reason demon souls is difficult was due to how unforgiving the checkpoint system was from a boss location. I trust bluepoint to fix the bonfire locations.

So just a couple of things I was thinking about Sony's strategy.

Did Sony purposely ensure for the PS5 showcase that all games were actually running on PS5 because they knew XBOXX showcase was never going to actually show gameplay from the console?

Sony is probably just trying to force XBOXX to reveal all their cards (XBOXS) as at this point Xbox has the most to lose with the drop in enthusiasm for the console. Sony just slowly bleeding them out.

I'm thinking that the PS5 will most likely be cheaper than the XBOXX but Sony doesn't want to reveal the price as they concerned Xbox will try to match or undercut them. So the longer it drags out , the Xbox will still be losing out again on the negative perception of the console and games.

I can’t even fathom why people compare these graphics cards to consoles like the PS5 and XSX. Its a losing game when the graphics cards alone cost as much as the console itself; theoretically. Nah, mate, it will fall on deaf ears... it's like the Nvidia will give out graphic cards for free to every PC gamer, it's the new Holy Grail, the savior of the PCMR in the war against console peasants. It has always been like this when a new powerful card comes out.

Next gem means bigger games and digital console means download only so bigger storage and with Modern Warfare now over 200+ gb and Cold War reports of 140+ gb It’s probably some dudebro logic that PS5 digital will have 2TB that got shared between their friends and now the rumor spread as news.

This is where you should have stopped counting as that is when the level has loaded and ratchet is in it.

In reality, i can almost say with 95% certainty that the world had already loaded completely in less than 2 seconds even before Ratchet entered into it.

Lets get technical.

The video is 29.97fps or 30fps
I grabbed about 256 frames ~ 8 seconds of footage from where i believe the loading started. I think so because it is where you still see some remnants of the currently level before he transitions into the wormhole or whatever it is called in the game.

From there when he fully enters the wormhole is where i start counting as the loading segment.

30 frames = 1 second

How developers choose to do their transition is not representative of capability of the system. And of course not all game engines work the same in terms of their streaming system. That is why;

Ghost of Tsushima fast travel in 7 seconds
Horizon Zero Dawn fast travel in 40 seconds

Brilliant stuff, shows exactly what I and others have been saying.

Its 2 seconds all in, including portal animation. As seen the level clearly has loaded before that.

I don't get this. I expect some #firstpost slack but I've been quietly reading this forum since the PS4 launch build-up, on a daily basis getting my info and reading all the drama that happens when leakers share things or people get annoyed.

Gradually it has moved from interesting to pulp fiction. I'm not even going to get started on the fakers that were vetted as leakers just for giggles, that just boggles my mind..But what I genuinely don't get is that seemingly nice guys, like Heisenberg post a lot of good stuff here and share interesting leaks, get attacked once some people feel there is not enough news or that they don't get their daily dose of rumors.

I'm probably a 41-year-old boomer that is annoyed by everyone being so entitled, offended, and conspiracy theorist but let's all calm the F down and enjoy talking actual console competition and embrace the tidbits of information we sometimes get from good people around here.

I was thinking about how the PS5's IO speeds could potentially mess up PS4 BC. Consider the steps a game might take while loading a level:

1. Create a list of assets to load and dispatch to background thread (12 seconds to complete).
2. Set up loading screen, pulling in images, hints, and all the rest (1-2 seconds, including time to fade screen in for presentation reasons).
3. Wait for step one to complete (about 10 seconds remaining).

However, on PS5 the following could happen:

It's funny that most of our so-called "neutrals" say they have both consoles, yet they're always bashing Sony. I think they've been starved to death and forced to buy PS4 just to play good games, that's the only explanation. I've never bought anything outside Sony since PS1 because I didn't have too.

Because most don't care to understand how the GB's are made up. 2TB in PS5 is not technically possible. 1, Jim said they are the same 825GB like you say and 2, if it was to change the SSD would be boosted to 1.65TB.

I imported the Asian version of Demon's Souls from HK prior to US/UK release based on the buzz it was generating - so for me it always has a special place. It's a fantastic game which should still hold up nicely today, especially given the treatment it is from BluePoint.

In terms of fight pace it is more Dark Souls than BB and Sekiro, so supports a slower approach, shield up etc. That doesn't mean it you can't go at it, but it'll be less forgiving of that than other titles. A lot of the systems will seem familiar but were ground breaking at the time.

Where it will really still shine is in terms of atmosphere and level design. There are bonfire-like arch stones but around these there is complex design which will give you many "ah-ha!" moments as you open up shortcuts and realise how well connected things are. The core set of bosses are also really nicely designed and distinctive.

It still remains my favourite Souls game even though later titles have refined and updated the formula, partly because it was my first and also because it's simply a fantastic game.
