I have been trying to find those youtubers with ps5

They haven't uploaded anything yet.

As reported by Gematsu, SIE Japan Asia is taking part in YouTube Gaming Week Japan, and it's granting a select few Japanese YouTubers access to PS5. Starting from 4th October at 6pm JST, certain content creators will be taking PS5 for a spin and uploading videos on their respective channels. The videos fall under the banner 'Try! PlayStation 5 on YouTube Gaming Week'. Here's a list of the YouTubers taking part:

This is the original source.

I think those were taken in different scenarios and lighting? Also the 2nd pic on the right is quite blurry, we can't make full judgements though, and there are many customizable hairs, clothes, skin, facial features, so things might differ.

Also the latest gameplay & trailers proved that the game got a huge graphical upgrade over 2018.
Nah.
Image on the right looks way better. Left image is like a generic female gamer face. The features of the character in the right image look much more lifelike (fuller lips, sunken eyes). Looks way better imo.
I'll take generic over fugly any day of the week.

have... we ever seen a youtuber leak a device they received? we know a bunch of japanese youtubers already went hands on with the console without a single leak, so a lack of them means nothing really

I know they believe in honor and all that but umm... has to be a very small number of them (which apparently it's) to keep it so under control.

I just saw MLiDs new video . So at this point it's pretty much confirmed that all RDNA2 cards will have high clocks (>2Ghz). Also apparently they're very power efficient. Now I wonder why the heck Microsoft decided to go with a 1.8Ghz GPU clock in their console? Could it be because the 52 CUs would draw too much power, even with RDNA2s efficiency? Doesn't look like that imo.

Edit: to be honest, it seems to me like RDNA2 actually improves performance/efficiency with higher clocks, otherwise why would AMD clock them so high?
They've been really big on keeping the console quiet, maybe the high clocks are power efficient but make the system much louder?

If the XSX is indeed full RDNA2 like the PS5 it would be interesting to see MS say screw it and put out an update to the console upping the clocks substantially sacrificing the quietness of the machine.

If that's even possible i wonder what the TF could climb to if the upped the clocks?
Well I’m guessing PS5’s as big as it is because of it’s cooling solution for the GPU’s high clocks, looking at the Series X, I’m certain most of their budget went towards the APU. Now if they tried to push their 52 CU chip to PS5 clock speeds, I’m sure the design of their console will have to significantly change. Stuff like this and managing clock speeds isn’t as easy as instantly upping the clocks through a “software update”, these sort of things are planned years in advance.

It was close to final. Until it wasn't.🤔
Source? As far as we know the build was weeks/months old and they delayed the game. So no, this wasn't the final build.

That's not necessarily the problem with Halo. The issue is that it has had a $500 million budget, has been in development since 2017, and Microsoft was using that as the killer app for Series X...and it still looks like a Xbox One/Xbox One X game.

On the opposite side of things, Bluepoint put out Shadow of The Colossus in 2018, so you can guess they started on Demon's Souls not too long after. I'm sure their budget is a fraction of what has been used for Halo, they're not a first party studio, and Demon's Souls looks like one of those fake pre-rendered target next gen videos, but it's actually real and fully playable. It just doesn't make sense why Halo looks so bad, despite that being a final build or not. There are really no excuses.
500mil budget has never been real, and I agree that there aren't any excuses, but it's disingenuous to use this as a benchmark for XSX games knowing full well it isn't representative

We don't know how the Japanese hands-on impression will be handled. I'm interested to see what they show.
Since it was announced during TGS, im guessing they didn’t get to take them home. It’s basically make a video under our supervision in our location and upload it on this day.

I doubt that’s it’s going to be anywhere close to them having a full system at home and just have a go with it.

Halo Infinite's issue was that it was in a better state of readiness than anything else for the XSX. I said this back at the time of the reveal, and it's proven itself to be true. The issue wasn't 343i, it was the XSX SDK. There are no next-gen games shown for the console, because there's nothing that was even at Halo's level. That's the reality of the situation. They must have had some major issues with the dev kits, or just didn't get them out to developers early enough, because everyone is ragging on Craig, while he's pretty much alone in his ecosystem. Everyone else around him is a CG target render, or a PC port.

The Medium was being developed for PC, which is why it's ready, but it's not a next-gen showcase. Neither is Dirt5, which has current-gen fingerprints all over it. I'm not on-board with ripping Halo Infinite, because I think MS sent that game to die at its reveal. They pigeonholed themselves via an ill-advised marketing campaign, and then whoever approved the show list was too chickenshit to pull the demo when the saw it, because the entire world could see that it needed more time in the oven.

When XSX games are ready to be shown, I'm certain we'll see some breathtaking stuff. But for now, they have nothing ready, and hammering the 1 game that was even close to presentable created some fun memes, but is kinda losing sight of the bigger issue.

Rumor is its already in development
Yeah, I think I read that somewhere, hope it's true. The remake of the original trilogy was pretty neat, I enjoyed it thoroughly, and clearly, with this Crash game, Toys for Bob are showing that they can do compelling original games too, so, I'm eagerly waiting for them to confirm a new Spyro is in the works.

Jak & Daxter is the red-headed stepchild of the PS platformer family. Such a shame.
Ya Crash & Sypro are up to Activision, not Sony. Sony brought back Ratchet & Clank, so thats 3 out 4.

Sony are trying to make Sackboy into their new 3D platformer mascot, with Ratchet focusing more on guns and action. Plus they have Astro Bot now as well.

And Naughty Dog making a new Jak & Daxter game again would be like asking Christopher Nolan to make a kid friendly cartoon movie. Giant waste of talent.

Maybe Cerny could make a new Jak game with Japan Studio.. or Sony could just pay Bluepoint to remaster the old Jak games in a collection, like they did with Uncharted.

What is really going on with preorders right now? I just can't imagine that they sold millions of units in under 30 minutes of barely being online. With the PS5, Amazon didn't seem to even ever officially have them in stock. They sold out just through backdoor links in less than 20 minutes.

Are they purposely leaving a bunch to be on store shelves? And if so, why? Is that better than preorders? Or is it seriously possible that millions of one-per-household or account orders were done that quickly?

Yeah, this is my thoughts as well. I am not sure that I will get the videos and answers I want from the hands-on.

I just want to know the answer to the following question, what happens if I try to stick in a pcie3 nmve ssd as a cold storage drive internally. What does the system do?

huh? They've stated DS4 works on PS4 games. Only case it wouldn't work is if its been upgraded to a PS5 version

I do wonder if games like yakuza/tetris effect makes sense to have this weird dualsense limitation when it finally gets updated to ps5 versions. Clearly some consumers don't mind.

I said 'next gen' game.

Yes and all I said was that Sony were impressing more visually - since they are incorporating next-gen features in old last-gen titles while MS have not been as impressive on that front, hence citing Gears 5. Granted that's the only example I could find. 😂 Minecraft with ray tracing is nice I suppose. Proper comparisons for full next-gen titles we still have to wait, but we haven't been bereft of next-gen features for upgraded old titles, and Sony have impressed more with Spiderman. Now time to wash Spence dog's juicy abs.

maybe this is what Jim Ryan had in mind when he said Sony donesnt believe in generations, your PS4 saves will not work on ps5, your PS4 controllers will not work on ps5 (even if you play PS4 game on ps5)...generations

/s

1. He said they do believe in generations. You got that wrong.

2. PS4 controllers do work with PS5 for playing PS4 games. You got that wrong.

3. PS4 game saves do transfer over to PS5 for playing PS4 games, not for new PS5 versions of games you upgrade.

Isn't it strange that two games heavily marketed on Xbox (Yakuza and Dirt) don't have saves that transfer over.
Dirt 5? Last thing I heard it had transfer of games. When did this change?

EDIT: Oh wait you mean that it doesn't transfer from PS4 -> PS5, and you think these companies might do this deliberately due to the marketing deal with Xbox?

They decided to use 56 CUs because the Xbox One had 14 CUs, and the Series X chip was designed as a server chip for Xcloud. Had to be able to run 4 Xbox One games at once. 14x4=56.
Where does this "Series X chip was designed as a server chip for XCloud" thing come from? The only thing I found is that they are revamping their xCloud blades with series X hardware, which makes sense given that they would want to stream those, but that does not imply that the XSX chip was designed as a server chip

Most likely it will be unsupported. Even if they could, I doubt they will.

If you try to use a USB 2.0 external HDD on PS4, the OS just says "not supported for extended storage."

They could let users put PS4 games onto USB 2.0 HDDs for cold storage only, but to keep it simple they just don't support USB 2.0 HDDs at all.

Same will likely apply to PCIe Gen3 M2 SSDs.

Just use externals for cold storage, expansion bay is likely only for Gen4 M2 SSDs that can run PS5 games.

It's a very first world and niche problem, just don't like anything like USB drives constantly connected to my xbox/ps4/pc. It would be good to just get official confirmation soon.

It was designed to be a gaming console chip and a server chip, both uses from 1 design. Not one or the other. Kinda like the chicken & egg thing.

2 birds with 1 stone design, R&D cost efficiency. XCloud is important for Xbox and they needed a new next gen chip for their servers as well. Why not have both from same design?

"the Series X processor is actually capable of running four Xbox One S game sessions simultaneously on the same chip, and contains an new internal video encoder that is six times as fast as the more latent, external encoder used on current xCloud servers."

So the One S has 14 CUs, 2 disabled. To run 4 x 12 they would have needed at minimum 48 CUs. But they had to be able to disable 4 CUs for yields for the console chips. Phil said the goal was to double the One X's 6 TF to 12 TF.

Issue is if they had only gone with 48 CUs total, 44 active, they would have had to go over 2.1 GHz to hit 12 TF. More shaders is easier way to reach big FLOPs number for a console with a limited power budget, and Microsoft clearly wanted the box to be as small and quiet as possible.

The PS5 went high clock route, but its much larger and has almost 50 W larger power supply. Imagine what a 44 CU @ 2.13 GHz would require. Huge box, maybe even 400 W PSU.

So 14x4=56 CUs, 52 active, and therefore ~ 1.8 GHz gets the 12 TF target. And it can easily run 4 Xbox One S games at the same time as an Xcloud server chip. Perfect for both goals.

I know they believe in honor and all that but umm... has to be a very small number of them (which apparently it's) to keep it so under control.

No wonder they dont give them to others, if having a honor is a bad/weird thing.

Western tubers would most likely leak it because they are selfish bastards.

Japanese are better choice as Sony is Japanese + it is kind of neutral to rest of the world.

Would MS send xboxs to russian tubers? No, they use domestic too.

But still funny when some cry about having to read subtitles. Kind of entitled attitude as majority of the world aint english speakers

My advice is wait til this time next year, and get a 1 TB Gen4 M2 SSD. That will work with for running PS5 games and should be available for a decent price by then.

The Samsung 980 Pro 1 TB is only $230 already at launch, give it time and get it on sale.
