Nothing. None of these games apart from dark souls 3 have an unlocked framerate or dynamic resolution so you won't get any benefits.Thats the main question I have so far For PS5. Especially since Cerny mentioned it.
and The first Spiderman demo...
Mostly Im waiting to see what Boost mode will mean for:
Death Stranding
TLOU2
Ghosts of Tsushima
Red Dead Redemption 2
Dark Souls 3
Final Fantasy 7 Remake
Bloodbourne
And
Spider - Man.......!!!.....!!!?
Unless a game has an unlocked framerate mode or a dynamic resolution, don't expect any difference
- You will need to keep the disc inserted each time to play the game.
There's no accounting for an animation playing oddly or going down a ladder faster or weird crap like that, it can always happen on different hardware / emulation. They certainly have to mention it
If the experience is satisfactory to you.
People trend to have different options.
The game works.
Never sold my stuff. What would happen if he does not? Should be able to do it afterwards as well, correct? Not enough. He need to remove his PS4 as a main console on his Sony account.

There is no emulation.Seems more to me there are going to be issues with lots of games and they just threw this out there to say "well, we warned you..." rather than work to actually fix these sorts of issues in their emulation. They did say to make sure to download the latest PS5 software so hopefully they actively work towards fixing this stuff. There have been lots of rumors saying they're having issues with BC and this press release makes it seem like there was truth to those rumors.
And what about digital ps2 games?
And what about digital ps2 games?
Well that way you can do that in every friend PS4 and call a day. This is some great news, and about what folks were expecting
I'm curious how many of these are compatible with Boost mode; last figure had them having tested about 100 games. It'd be nice if they gave an update on that front with this one but they'll probably do that a week or two from now anyway.
Also this stuck out to me:
Is there a specific reason the game needs to be inserted each and every time? Sounds like a form of license checking, but couldn't they just simply get some kind of unique ID code off the disc, store it to the cloud, and then just have it so that the user needs to briefly be online to verify being able to play the game without the disc being in the drive? Maybe some kind of matching ID could be generated for that game getting initially verified with the disc in the drive on that system, and could even do it on a per-account basis?
It'd actually be better if the system had some kind of private NAND cache inaccessible by the user, where it could get and/or generate some kind of reference code to the digital copy of the game if it's installed on the internal SSD, expandable SSD or external storage device. Then implement some kind of encrypted ID reference code for any external drive the digital copy of the PS4 game is installed onto. If the user tries playing the game from an external drive without the matching reference code they'd be prompted to provide the original disc again.
I guess Sony's got it set up the way it is currently, to ensure people aren't simply borrowing the game from a friend and try to pass it off as their own purchase, which would be an issue if the system only needed the game disc inserted and verified once.
But I think generating some kind of unique encrypted reference ID code for a digital copy of that game installed onto either the system or external storage matching some type of unique identification of the game disc (I'm sure every printed disc of a physical release has to have SOME kind of unique identification of some sort issued during the printing phase, right?), which could be further expanded to a matching encrypted code installed on the connected 3rd-party storage drive (if the game is installed there), would be a better solution, though maybe a bit more complicated.
Never sold my stuff. What would happen if he does not? Should be able to do it afterwards as well, correct?

So basically, a portfolio of 4k games. Is this not the biggest launch line-up according to some metrics?
Some games may receive errors and odd behaviors, please don't buy DLC until you try the game to make sure it works? What the hell is going on here? This is a load of crap...
Apt game not to work.Just Deal With It!
MS marketing is really working lolSo basically, a portfolio of 4k games. Is this not the biggest launch line-up according to some metrics?
Actual transperancy is to admit the shortcomings as well.People have been punishing Sony for trying to be upfront and accurate with its statements about BC.
Other companies would have said 6 months ago that the PS5 is full backwards compatible with PS4 and hope people don't notice or care for the few exception games.

Select games will enable boost mode isn't good news. I thought they would have boost enabled all the time like Series X

I think they actually implied it once but had to backpedal shortly after. Its called a legal disclaimer, MS also wont say 100 % everything works legally, nobody will.
If you count BC as launch line-up then the original fatty PS3 had almost every PS1+2 game combined.
Pretty great news, I want to see how well a PS4 game performs over an external drive compared to on a ps4
There is a lot of ways.Select PS4 games will benefit from the PS5 console’s Game Boost
There is a difference. If the framerate is locked how can the game benefit?

Hmmm, a few worrying bits of info in that blog post

He was being a smartass with MS marketing and the fans a few weeks ago.
Not a smartass, just ironic. Seems like some more needles need to shift now.
