PS4 pro was ugly. Just a stacked PS4, that's it. So terribly boring and uninspired.

PS5 is my new favorite console design :messenger_smiling_hearts: I love the futuristic look; speaks to the imagination!

Can you describe what looks good about it?
Everything. You have to put yourself in it’s era. That system is still gorgeous but imagine how it looked back then to people. The earth tone text on that infinite black casing. The piecing blue power switch. PlayStation icon that pivoted when you changed it from horizontal to vertical, made even better with the stands that matched the text on the casing. The OS and the system itself were designed around that theme and it was.... is glorious. Next to PS5, it is their best looking system bar none. Best retail packaging ever made for a console as well.

I like them all. PS5 is my least favorite design because it is of its overall size, really goes against Japanese aesthetics. I think it will be the most loved/hated console of all the PS designs. It's a more global design that could prove to be very polarizing .

Oh, I remember it looking ugly as sin back then to me too. I imagine it played a large part in your childhood or teens though, whereas I basically ignored it at the time. I'd be interested to hear if anyone who has no nostalgia for PS2 thinks it looks nice or even just decent.

Anyway, obviously I still don't see it, but thanks for sharing your view on it.

PS3 "cheap-ass sliding tray" Super Slim and the ugly sandwich that is the PS4 Pro are by far the worst offenders.

PS2 Super Slim and PSOne are superb pieces of tech though, and both Fat PS3 and PS5 have that bold design philosophy (and that huge form factor) that make them quite appealing.

When will people stop referring to the PlayStation as the PSX? It was never officially released with that name. To make things worse, Sony actually released a PSX and no one seems to know it exists.

It is just the PlayStation. Or PS. PS1. /rant

I voted for PS4 Slim. It simply has no presence and makes practically no impression on anyone looking at it. It may as well be a Blu-ray player.

Ps3 super slim by far.
Online pictures can't even fully capture how bad it is. It's not just the design, it's how cheap the entire thing looks and feels when you actually have it in your hand. It's like some cheap off brand chinese dvd player that has a Ps3 logo for some reason.

PS5 for me.

The disk version is one of the worst looking consoles ever in my opinion. Diskless is much better looking because of symmetry, but it's still not a good design imo.

Every version of the George Foreman PS3 is horrible in appearance.

The PS5 is a close runner-up, though. Why you'd decide on cosmetics that make an already monstrous console take up even more space is beyond me. I suppose you could make an argument for the fins being required to prevent stupid consumers from blocking the vents, but still.

Sony console are usually very good in design, but PS3 and it's iterations are really bad. PS3 superslim is a fucking grill.

Lol at least half of the votes for PS5 are from well known Xbox fanboys (and probably also from Nintendo and PC fanboys that i don't recognize)! :messenger_grinning_smiling:

Anyway for me it's easily the original PS2. By far one of the ugliest consoles ever. It's basically a plain ,fat and boring looking box. PS2 slim on the other hand was a thing of beauty that even today looks very modern.

For me the worse are the original PS2 and the super slim PS3.

I can't change my vote... it should be PS3 Super Slim but your picture confused me.

PS3 Slim is gorgeous (different from Fat and Super Slim).

I agree. I absolutely loved the PS3 slim. I never understood the hate it got. But I also love the phat PS3 too. Both are great designs IMO.
However, the PS5 does look mighty nice in person.

I understood people hate for the ps5 design but it doesn't means it's bad design. Bad design is when console has issue. 360 was terribly designed because RROD. PS3 too seems to have overheating issue.

Never undetstood how the Playstation abbreviation became PSX.

This is PSX

Because you guys may not have been born when the PSX was being shown in magazines as the PSX, and that prototype name was also all over the dev kits. It was also the code for sales trackers in multiple countries when sales reports came out, They would list out JAG, SAT, 3DO, PSX.

PS2 looks amazing to this day. Vertical or horizontal, it’s a great looking console.

Two different-sized rectangle shapes smashed into each other off-center, covered in weird fin shapes jutting out all over the place, with clashing buttons and logos everywhere. Thing's got a face only nostalgia could love.
