Some initial thoughts...
It weighs more than the Dual Shock 4 but feels very comfortable to hold.
My thumbs rest much more naturally on the thumb sticks, whereas they overshoot them a bit on the dualshock 4. I have fairly large hands.
Face buttons are less jiggly but have a bit more squishyness to them and have a more subdued click sound.
Thumb sticks are a concave/convex hybrid which feels very nice and grippy. My custom DualShock 4 has the xbox elite sticks for comparison and the center face feels a touch larger on the Dualsense which works better for my thumb size.

That is all, back to work I go.

Hows it taste tho?

Edit: Riky Riky my dude, you can tag this post as me being triggered, but you’re one of the ones guilty of being taken in and screaming it from the rooftops. Maybe take stuff you hear from Microsoft with a bit more of a pinch of salt. Probably better for us all 👍

You sound really angry and I'm not sure why.

Just like the 8k and 120fps on the PS5 and XSX boxes it's just theoritcal maximums. The Series S can do 1440p and it can do 120fps, it's obvious it can't do both at the same time, no more than the bigger consoles can do 8k or 4k at 120fps.

It isn't marketing bullshit, there are 1440p games like Gears Tactics and there are 120fps games like Dirt 5.

If anyone is upset by that they need a reality check on a £249 box.

You're wrong.

Remember Xbox one launch, over 5 times the performance of the 360 in flops. Remember Titanfall? At a lower resolution in some situations the 360 version performed better than the Xbox One.

The PS5 is a lot less than 3 times as powerful as Series S. It's not impossible to see situations on some games where we will see Series S outperform PS5 framerate wise. Maybe even Series X too.

Yeah, um ... here's the thing:

If Console 'X' runs a game at 480p and 60 fps, and Console 'Y' runs the same game at 4K and 30 fps, console X doesn't outperform console Y.

Series S will push PS5 and we need the reality check. Right.

It isn't a matter of issues with the PS5, it's a matter of resolution. Do you think the same game at 1080p on Series S and 4k on PS5 with a 60fps target there couldn't be a situation where the Series S version has a higher framerate? It applies to Series X too in fact.

We're going to see a lot of multiformat comparisons from Digital Foundry, I'd be shocked if this doesn't happen at least once.

Now all that’s left is for these features to be adopted, and preferably by studios that aren’t just working for or in close partnership with Sony. They won’t mean much to players until they are. “When we tell the world we put an SSD in the hardware, that’s interesting, but that’s interesting for about a month. What makes it work is that the games are picking up the SSD and using it in various ways,” said Cerny. “Ultimately, it isn’t the hardware that you put in the console. It’s what the games are doing.”

Ah, I’n not angry at you dude. Plastic boxes go bing... none of this is important enough to get angry about.

I do get... er.... irate with the likes of Microsoft when they clearly bullshit in their marketing though. Does none of us any good whatsoever. And Msft have exaggerated the XSSs capabilities, claiming it can do things across the board it can’t. Not on.

Just got back from Game where i preordered my PS5, they are asking everyone to pay in full before wednesday ahead of the lockdown for 4 weeks in the UK, if you fail to pay in full before then, then no PS5 for you. I saw they had the actual Xbox Series X in and were packing them into customer bags with their receipts although they couldn't actually let you take them home just yet. No PS5s in at the moment.

It's bitter.

Probably due to the use of adaptive tongue rather than adaptive triggers plus the overall experience just wasn't as fulfilling without any haptic feedback turned on.

3/10 for now but might lick again in 10 days.

I would of thought the texture of the controller would have added some spice. Truly disappointing.

Nice... this could be a really interesting feature.

Honestly would be a cool way to make some money too if they monitized it, and monitizing it would be how you'd get 3rd parties to actually populate the help videos. I could see the existing game guide writing companies getting contracted or something.

I'd rather every dev just do that for free but seems unlikely.

It's monetized via PS Plus. We are yet to know how will they share money with third-party to motivate them to add videos.

I doubt Sony is going to be sharing any PS Plus revenue based on help videos lol

But yeah I'm aware they gated it behind PS Plus.

I guess the motivation for devs is simply another checkmark on what the game offers to buyers, basically comes with a built in game guide if they bother to do this... still feels like something 3rd parties are largely going to ignore.

That's what i expect as well. Without any meaningful incentive (money, user demand or popularity) it's going to be left unused.

Looking at Demons souls on ps5 and the discussion about Ray Tracing/No Ray Tracing, can you imagine what they COULD do with RT if this is without.

Also, not to fan any flames, but could this be an indication of what Sony's "Custom" Software/Hardware can really do? If the average person couldn't tell without a press release, have Sony got something special here?

Honest Question.

How hard is adding videos? Probably a lot of devs are capturing similar sort of videos already from play testing
Consumer-facing videos would require higher (or at least any) quality control. And why would you do something that require spending extra resources without obvious benefit?
