Hell no! some of us are plenty relieved to have a new console that can play games at 60fps and that don't sound like a jet engine. Maybe the xbox could have got delayed but PS5 has a better launch line up than the ps4 had, and has more games coming in the new year. It released at the perfect time.

Well, I've been busy playing Call of the Sea (wonderful puzzle game), Gears Tactics (amazing). I even went through Bright Memory (not great, but the full version next year has potential), Falconeer (pretty damn good when you learn controls) in the three weeks since I got XSX. I also have been busy playing Sea of Thieves, Destiny 2, We Happy Few, Sekiro which all have improved by either adding 60 fps or making framerate more consistent. I had a blast checking out old titles with new auto-HDR support. I also finished Assassin's Creed Valhalla which is my top3 game after Ori and Wasteland 3. Don't really have time to complain about the lack of games online. Sorry.

I say it's a prettified old niche game, some of you guys try to make it the holy grail of gaming, the best launch exclusive ever. The truth lies somewhere in between, but it's definately nothing like a NEW Zelda was for Switch. Not even in the same universe. And what the hell is FOMO?

Thanks for the laugh Mr. hobby psychologist, i had a PS5 myself so i could have played that game if i wanted to. And if Demon Souls is such a great launch game, it should easily beat the >20 million sold copies of Zelda.

People reducing Demon souls to "just a remaster" confuses me. The consensus from people that have actually played it is that it's the best console launch title in a while, only really beaten by BOTW. And SM:MM is a perfect 1st or 2nd game for a lot of people that are already likely spending all their money on a combination of COD, FIFA, Madden, NBA2k, Assassin's Creed, etc, for their new systems. point being; Sony (and microsoft) don't need to have 3-5 exclusive bangers to release in a single month, because they're already competing with 3rd parties. No point cannibalizing sales.

Sony had the right formula, release a couple exclusives with your new system(some that can be played on PS4). and then in the new year start releasing more exclusives once the dust settles from all the competing publishers releasing their own stuff.

MS would have been in a pretty excellent position if Halo didn't shit the bed. I think 2021, 1st party wise, is gonna drag for them because all I'm seeing for them is Halo infinite releasing in the fall and that's it. Meanwhile Sony has a fairly steady stream, even if you assume GOW gets delayed (which I think it will).

The souls players is a loud minority of hardcore gamers. Theres not many casual players enjoying the masochistic play style of the souls games.

I ain't saying the game is bad. It just isn't for me.
But it's a joke laughing at xbox for being a bc machine (often with Microsoft internal updates to make some of them look like remasters), and then getting hyped about a ten year old game made as a remaster.

If it was Demon's Souls 2 then it would be a new game entirely. This is still a remaster.

I can't wrap my head around people defending Xbox lack of games. I mean.. ..seriously. Even if you like the console (which I do) having a few good first-party launch titles would have been a hell of a lot better.

They planned on Halo Infinite, and it’s clear, the Master Chief is all over the back of the series X box. The game got a bad backlash, although the gameplay they showed looked really fluid and fun, and the graphics looked like a nod to Halo:CE. Do the graphics need updating for Series X and PC? Yes, KUDOS to MS for having the gumption to delay their biggest launch title so it can cook a bit more, unlike CDPR which said fuck you tonits fans and released a broken mess.

This is how I felt when I was deciding between XSX and PS5. I love Xbox and I’ve never owned a PlayStation, but I wanted to play all those PS4 exclusives I missed.

Xbox has a ton of potential though with their recent studio acquisitions, and I think XSX will be a must-own console by 2023.

If we are going to use arbitrary measurements to say what is a good launch title, I'd say that checking how angry and irrational fanboys of other consoles get about it is a good metric. By how salty you guys are about Demon's Souls, I'd say it's an incredible launch game.

BC games and remasters are two very different things. A remaster can be an entirely new game, that's why it's next gen here, with next gen assets (graphics, sounds) and next gen features like haptics.

A BC game is just an old game running better, the assets are still old.

It has games, I'm playing the new releases on Gamepass. Unto the End, Morkredd, Call of The Sea, and all the Yakuza games. Also The Medium is coming out in January 2021. It is getting games, but Journalists.. .seem to be ignoring everything that is gamepass related most of the times. Or if its not God of War, or Horizon levels than it doesn't count which seems to be the situation with The Medium, and Ascent ?

I'm switching around between my gaming pc and the xbox (some titles dont end up on the PC gamepass). The PS5 is gathering dust though after playing the Miles Morales, and Demon's Souls, also Pathless.

Yes Xbox could definitely use some high-quality exclusives that aren’t random early access games on Steam.

But honestly both next-gen consoles feel like old news already. You definitely want one to get the best versions of multiplats on consoles, but even then you’re waiting for the Cyberpunk patch or the Destiny 2 patch and so on.

Astro's playroom got rated 83 on Metacritic, that's more than your typical gamepass filler and it certainly means it's not a tech demo but a real game. And haptics and adaptive triggers are already used in multiple 3rd party games, so you're already wrong on that too (CoD, NBA 2K21...).

Phil Spencer, who seems definitely smarter than his fanboy base, already stated PS5 haptics were great, implying it would probably be copied in the next Xbox.

You call all that peaceful, I call that trying to constantly belittle the competition to cope with the fact you get none of those things on your toy of choice.

Xbox is dull in general right now and for the near future at least, and it isn't just because of the lack of first party hits.

Same old UI, same old controller, no next gen feature. No next gen exclusive. Slightly inferior performances.

They really went out of their way to be sure you wouldn't have too much fun.

All that's missing is preinstalling Office on it.

Astro's playroom got rated 83 on Metacritic, that's more than your typical gamepass filler and it certainly means it's not a tech demo but a real game. And haptics and adaptive triggers are already used in multiple 3rd party games, so you're already wrong on that too (CoD, NBA 2K21...).

Sony is the only who could get bad reviews deleted on metacritic.

Every thread is about it, whether it's xbox or PlayStation. Nintendo players despite being made fun of of buying full price on 5 years games, seem to be the only one who can get along with others.

Phil Spencer, who seems definitely smarter than his fanboy base, already stated PS5 haptics were great, implying it would probably be copied in the next Xbox.

You call all that peaceful, I call that trying to constantly belittle the competition to cope with the fact you get none of those things on your toy of choice.

In 2021 there will be no more excuses. No more trying to downplay PS5 releases by calling Spider-Man Miles Morales DLC or Demon’s Souls Remake a PS3 ‘remaster’.

They will have to contend with Horizon, God of War, Returnal, Destruction Allstars, Kena, Deathloop, Ghostwire, Ratchet and Clank and more. What will the excuse for Series X having no games be then?

When you have nothing to defend yourself with attack the opposition or start talking about something completely unrelated, it's pretty standard stuff. Hence whenever these discussions take place they always get personal with anyone who dares to question wtf is going on and why the 1st party/exclusive situation is what it is today.

The fact that people even defend the current predicament says to me that they deserve it.

What is it then if it isnt lack of first party? Their ecosystem/UI is better than Sonys.
