EDIT: Nevermind. I'm not really happy with it.
hey if I can post this piece of crap, then you got this! Lol jk, but hey fr I think I’ve learned recently to just show off everything. It’s all good if it’s all coming from your brain. And if you enjoyed it, that’s all that matters.

ok so I sat down and shat something out in about 20 minutes. I didn’t plan on it going so fast but I had a lot of fun. Normally my stuff is really intricate and takes weeks. I’m looking forward to doing more paintings like this that I can finish in one sitting.

i used sponge burshes, a was candle, a rock, bobby pin, a couple other random pieces of plastic junk i had in my paint box, and an acorn. oh and my fingers. cant wait to do more!

Last week I finished a character design of a valkyrie, an idea suggested by a friend. The name’s Svala, norse for swallow.

I wanted to design a valkyrie with a JRPG look and feel while still being different from well known characters like Lenneth or Gwendolyn. I haven’t settled on the exact color scheme, but dark blue and white will be the main colors. Maybe some silver or red too on some armor parts.

Thoughts?

One, if not the coolest work I ever done was creating an illustration for MegaDriver, a very cool Brazilian band which main focus is videogame music.

They have sickest electric guitars I ever saw: a Sonic head, Gillius Thunderhead bust and even a Mega Drive console as the instrument so I was very happy when they asked me to do an Akuma illustration for Bruno Galle, one of the guitar players. They carved and assembled the material, put a light in the gohadouken, and made this:

Here are Bruno and Nino rocking.

Here is their You Tube channel:

Instagram aspect ratio triggers me and in an attempt to fit in with the cool kids and post on there i just added some text on the side of the image to make it a square, fuck you instagram, you are trash to post drawings.

Background it's still WIP in case you wonder why all the colors don't even stay inside the lines...

Keihart Keihart Something similar happened to me the other day. I wanted to save a drawing after applying the Juno filter but couldn’t keep the original size ratio, it had to be a square but that cut off a small portion of the drawing.

Sequel to some photos i uploaded a few weeks ago, two more pieces.. I'm happy with the base and profile of the bowl.. the green one is a Bonsai pot, but i used red clay and i don't really like how it affected the oribe green. In future i think I'll be a white clay man.

Finally i consider this one done, i really have to start streamlining painting digitally...i take way too long and eventually start to get bored of looking the same shit every day i want to spent some time drawing.

Been experimenting with drawing mountain ranges with dramatically shifting perspectives.. thinking of making a calendar, but i won't try it until my perspectives are sufficiently gnarly.. this is one of the more tame attempts, but it's the only one I've got a image of on my phone.. soft poll: would you buy a hand drawn 2021 calendar with images of this style? Finished products would be a lot more precise and detailed~ I'd probably charge a fair few duckets, considering the hours embodied in a 12 month calendar...

Edit: here's a slightly more developed one.. note I've used three or four different perspectives, in an attempt to really accentuate the scale of the climb the figure is partway through.. to the east are some cliffs,, a forest to the west.. a long, long drag to the summit ahead.. and at the bottom a town on the shores of a lake.. it's pretty ambitious, i haven't figured it out yet

EDIT: looking back a few weeks later these half-finished drawings are kinda ass, at least at full zoom...

I'm trying to get a color style for my game which isn't too much time demanding to make but, at same time, feels right. Hard to adjust. I feel that the colors I made in previous work were too simple, too solid, at least for backgrounds.

I spent more time than I was expecting coloring this one.

Dudes, did you guys tried Clip Studio Painting? I'm finding much better to ink with it than with other programs. Highly recommended!

Heres another prelim for something I'm working on.

Would it be better for me to make my own thread instead of flooding this one with my crap?

So I wanted to share something before the year was up and I started this the other week before stopping and then finished it today. I know the quality isn't the best (despite saving as a PNG with no compression) and the effects are kind of just okay but I like how the colors and lighting turned out.

That looks nice, what was the process like? Did you combine a render of Samus with the background?

I start with a black background before adding the transparent render. Then I mix some background images that fit the theme of the render (in this case, outer space). After that, I'm pretty much experimenting with different gradient maps, adding lighting and effects. By the end I just cleaned up some of the 30-ish layers.

I'm pretty rusty though. I haven't done this consistently since 2013 (and on a smaller canvas) when it looked more like this:

But come to think of it I do want to create new signatures again, even though GAF doesn't use them.
