I'm happy with the performance of my 2080ti. I use .8 resolution scaling at 4K with the game maxed and it runs between 60-90fps with VRR. I need to decide whether I want the higher framerate over 60 or just run it at 60 locked with HDR as my TV(Samsung) cant do both.

Id lock it to 60 unless you can keep a stead 90+fps but thats just me.

All these people with fucking brand new graphics cards 3070 and up:

"Hurrrr I wonder if my top of the line component is gonna run it good 🤓"
I wonder how my 3090 will run this. Hopefully it will be ok at 4K/60 without DLSS. I don't even know what level of RT it supports and if it's better than the console versions.

What's up with the aiming in this game, did I miss a setting? When I aim it's not pulling up the sights so I had to turn on the reticle, but outside of aiming the reticle is way too large and distracting. Wish the reticle only displayed while you aimed. I also had to turn off all the controller acceleration as aiming is awful when enabled, I can't imagine why that is the default as everything feels so sluggish.

Once I got that figured out it everything was great.

Really surprised how well it ran on a 1060. I tought I'd get the PS5 version for sure, but now I'm lost.
People shouldn't be surprised. It's still a XB1/PS4 game that targets 60fps on those machines (and actually hits 60fps more often than not, at least on PS4).

actually I seem to be about 10fps ahead of you. Thats weird
This is with the same as your drs quality settings. Apex Legends doesn't like 8000mhz so I just keep it at 7900 to save time.
ShadowPlay shaves off a couple of fps + mine is an FE so it generally clocks a bit lower than AIBs.

Is there a benchmark in the demo? Not interested in playing it, already have it preordered just wanna do some performance testing.

How much storage the game takes? I have RTX 3070, i think i can run this game well so im not going to download the demo.

nice to see variable rate shading being implemented. it will increase the performance delta between new architecture gpus and old ones

Lots of graphic options which is nice. Makes me horribly dizzy though.
Fuck me I had the same issue with the PS5 demo, was hoping a higher FOV would fix this but I believe it's something about the game that makes me dizzy (I've even turned off stupid stuff like camera shake and movement momentum).

Edit: there's no FOV option!? Double fuck me. If it isn't in full game I'm gonna pass.

Performance is nice, Def improvement over RE7.

But God the facial animations are so bad, zero expressions, total dead eyes, it's like a 360 era game.

Well i just tried the pc demo and performance was wild. When I had RT on with 6gb textures and 16x filtering at 1.5 rendering scale, I was getting performance at about 50+. So I when I went back into the settings and dropped the rendering scale (hoping to boost the frames) the frame rate tanked to around 30fps. WTF?
I had to quit the demo and go back to menu and start again to get the higher frame rate.

Later though once the lycans were in the corn field, I had to tone down everything to get higher frames. Looked cool at ultrawide but think I may as well just get the ps5 edition for now.
Game runs faster with RT than without it to me.
I have no idea what is going on with it.

VRS makes some things look jagged as fuck regardless of resolution and antialiasing, i was taken aback by it on specular surfaces in the mansion.

Crazy but this is actually running really well on my i5 4690k and GTX 1080. Everything is either "Max" or "High" (Very High when available) and I don't think it's dipped below 60 FPS. Obviously this is at 1080p with no ray tracing but it might look better than it does on PS5/XBSX
Same here! I even run it on 1440p and still get very good results. Even more hyped for the full game now.

I've played FPS games for a long time with a mouse. Why does the mouse movement feel so clunky and bad in this game? It feels like I'm playing as a 600 pound fatty who struggles to turn. No ADS but a stupid ugly aiming reticle?

Feels normal here with razer viper ultimate at 2400 dpi

Mine felt a little weighty compared to apex, but around the same as re7

Same here. I refuse to play first person games with a controller and was gutted RE7 was so poor with a m&kb so I chucked it aside. I had hoped Village might implement a faster smoother m&kb setup but again it was like moving a tank through a swamp. Won't be getting that one either :messenger_pensive:

This limited-time demo lets you experience a taste of the upcoming survival horror sensation, Resident Evil Village.
Players will have a total of 60 minutes to explore both the village and castle. How much time will you spend seeking answers in the village, and how long will you brave the castle’s corridors to uncover its dark secrets? It's up to you.

8.5GB to download

Available during the following timeframe:
May 1st 5:00PM – May 9th 4:59PM Pacific

Update:
Pre-download has been possible since yesterday, and someone found a loophole to speed up the timer and play before the release on PC.
Capcom has therefore closed the servers to prevent other players from doing the same, the servers will be reopened on May 2.

Time frame release (thx to @Kuranghi):

Dude thank you! Been wanting to give it a go.
