But seriously, the bigger jawline and that haircut, makes her face look like a cone. Like damn, they don’t have mirrors in the apocalypse right? Nobody should intentionally exaggerate their imperfect face geometry with hair.

They went a little too ginger shading in the original and now they’re stuck i guess. She’s got an uncanny face of a ginger kid, but typically the ginger look recess as they age. So for Aloy to suddenly get facial muscles that mimic a real life face, but looks like she kept her kid’s face model, is probably triggering a lot of uncanny feelings.

The actress is way better looking.

Ok, she is hot. I have always found Aloy derpy looking though. I’d argue the render doesn’t match the quality of this woman in real life.

Part of the problem is the diamond shaped head. Notice the model is wearing hair styles that partially cover the face, thus camouflaging the shape. Aloy has a fully pulled back style so there’s nothing covering it.

Jennifer Lopez has a diamond shaped head (nowhere as extreme as Aloy tho) and she rarely wears fully pushed back hair.

Aloy looks like she has aged a little from the first game. It's a sad fact, GAF, that most of us began adding a bit of weight after the age of 20. Some start even earlier than that. Metabolism slows. Aloy has simply aged a little and her face rounded out. It's not an odd shape. Her hair just isn't masking it because she has it tied back.

I personally don't like the tied back hair look on women but whatever.

And that's ok. But people are reacting like she is a) bearded (when it's peach fuzz, and all humans have it), b) ugly (matter of taste, but IMO she's not) and c) masculinized (she's not, there's an actress to prove it). Strong jawed woman exist, and Hannah Hoekstra is definitely one of them.
