Clearly the system has it's positives; it can be played in the car by the kids on long weekend trips and hook up to the big screen for dad to play Zelda. It also has a fair amount of games, some of which sold very well. I can't believe people are legitimately confused by this. That is because they are not confused and just ignorantly projecting their narrow opinions, and possibly inability to afford a lot of electronics, on the general population.
I bought my Switch after resisting for 5 months and playing BoTW on the WiiU. I then played Mario and Xenoblade II and not much else for a while because I had a PC and PS4, but picked it up from time to time. Like all Nintendo systems and Sony systems, there are a few exclusives I play over the life of the system but do most of my gaming on PC. My first born was less than 1 year old when the system launched but now he is 5 and plays it nearly daily and plays it portable. This is great. I get to play the titles I am interested in, and my kid can putz around with games that I know are age appropriate. I can't see how any parent who grew up with Nintendo and still likes to game would not have one of these in their house. The switch collects way less dust than my PS5 and had a better launch window in 2017.
