It's weird to me to see so many people care about the next-gen upgrade given its mostly visual and performance improvement when most of those same people who complain would say that the game even without bugs is mediocre. If that's the case i fail to see why some many people are outraged about this delay, i mean its not that amazing game isnt it?
For me i dont care about the next gen upgrade as much as i care to see what kind of expansion they are going to make.
As for next-gen for Witcher 3 i expect it to come with Witcher Netflix season 2, it will be a good marketing move to do that.

They are in a terrible spot at the moment. If they continue to promise stuff they can't keep they will look bad. At the same time if they abandon the game now they will look bad for all the games they want to release in the future (why would anyone bother getting their games if they all come out in a trash state?). I wouldn't want to be in their shoes right now.

Even more fun for me as I returned The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt within an hour of release, after the game was a buggy mess and kept crashing on the ps4. I've learnt my lessons now after buying two turds from this developer, don't buy another CDPR game is permanently burnt in to my subconsciousness.❤

They should really stop with the release dates at this point. That was the main problem with the game in the first place: Give definitive dates months out, backing out of the date again and again, end up backing themselves in a corner with impatient customers and then rushing themselves releasing content that wasn’t quite ready.

How many good games have they even made, one? I feel like people forget that the first Witcher got bad to tepid reviews, and the second one got mediocre reviews. I remember being surprised at the announcement of The Witcher 2, the first one was bargain bin fodder and no one cared about it.

not at retail it's not, seeing as retailers are pretty much giving it away now. Kind of find it ironic they were trying to bundle a steelbook with it like this thing has any chance of been collectible lol it's in the same company as fallout 76 for dumpster fire games. I honestly feel this game will have serious legs from a quality standpoint. This is far from terrible. They have an incredible foundation with what's already there. Once they get to that level of polish that they need and then start moving to their DLC related content, I think the tone will be very different about this game.

Funny enough, looking at this shit now, I can see how such a thing was true. Look at how they are struggling to even patch, update, make next gen versions, DLC etc. I just don't buy that even 2022 we'll see some solid turn around and a working game, this game legit sounds like it needs YEARS in development to be a normal, functional game, nevermind all the features stripped, just to make it WORKING it needs that time. The more time goes on, the more its showing that dev was 100% spot on in questioning that 2020 release and thinking it was a joke.
