I can't believe this is as widespread as the thread suggests, but once you know this is out there, some people will be wondering if high scoring players are cheating or not and that could become pervasive and mean people will stop playing as a result.
I'm surprised that console cheating is suggested to be more prevalent than pc, surely even if this piece of custom hardware is readily available, pc players who want to cheat just need to run some software, right? That's so much more available that it must be more popular.
I can think of some ways to check the controller signal isn't being interfered with but I wonder if this will be one of those things where the people who make these devices will just keep adapting and either updating devices or bringing new items to market.
