Their remaining acquisitions budget is smaller than they'd need to buy Square, at least 100% of it. They aren't supposed to be able to revise and raise this this budget until the end of the fiscal year.

So if they announce tomorrow an acquisition it would be something way smaller than Square.

No, Ubisoft never said they wanted to be bought. They said that if someone comes with an offer would listen to them, but that they don't want and don't need to sell. They want to remain independent. If they would want to sell they could have sell in the recent years.

Ubisoft has a shit ton of games already announced, I don't see them announcing big games in the near future. If something, at their E3 conference they will show more of the many games they have to release this or next year.

Ubi's financials are in great shape, they don't need to sell and don't want to sell unless all 5 Guillemot brothers want to retire and to get even way richer, but I don't see that happening.
I would acknowledge the Resident Evil potential reference, but the Christian Lore thing....I feel like there's meaning there.

Literally almost everyone's fiscal year ends on March 31. Microsoft and Activision are rare exceptions.

I've worked at places with ends of fiscal years all over the place (well quarters at least). This is not as inconsequential a correlation.

I think tomorrow they may announce that MLB The Show 22 will be at PS+ or Now at launch as an exception to counter its inclusion on GP.

But if I had to bet, I'd say they won't announce anything tomorrow.

I think this is something they might do (and should do) but I doubt it would be hyped to this level. My guess is Kojima game announcement or some other big game reveal.

I think it would be. One of, if not the best selling titles in the world. I mean Xbox buying Activision set the gaming world on fire for at least a week.

Other than than a big acquisition I don’t know what would be such a big deal in this industry? Maybe they are just overhyping something for the sake of hype but the hints so far paint it as something huge…
Definitely. Maybe I’m just wrong in thinking GTA 6 exclusive wouldn’t be that.

Full disclosure. I haven’t played a GTA game since 3. :messenger_tears_of_joy:

It’s deffo Sony related. It’s classic Sony, theyve announced the new ps plus which to some people hasn’t set the world on fire so they make sure they have something else to follow up with that many will see as genuinely a big deal and shifts the conversation.

let’s go, excited to see what it is.
big Jeff Grubb strikes again.

Question: Is peeing from the butt different from diarrhea? Genuinely curious.
I saw a report of girls in Africa who are married really young and get pregnant. As they are unable to deliver the baby or something happens during delivery that there is a tear connecting their digestive system. They end up later peeing from their anus which is uncontrollable and quiet uncomfortable.

Unpleasant thing indeed.

Wednesday comes and goes like a fart in the wind and Grubb quote tweets his facetious "backpedal" like it was for realsies and goes "See? There really was nothing. lol was just joshin bruh chill"

Didn't hip hop say there was going to be local emulation for ps3 games?

He did? Maybe he did. Maybe Sony were trying to make it work but don't have a working solution yet, or like someone else today in the Spartacus thread said, they could just be holding on it until a little later.

But I just brought up HHG because I think he mentioned something about game demoes and maybe about tiers, and native BC for other stuff besides PS3. I wouldn't even know where to start video-wise to see receipts tho :/

My guess, Sony or Microsoft actually buys a studio that feels like a megaton. My bet is on Ubisoft. I know many don't like Ubisoft recently and honestly, with the shenanigans they've pull in the past year I would not be surprised if Sony scooped them up.

Hint: "Revelations" as in...

Also Ubisoft has been very quiet since doing that stupid NFT thing on Ghost Recon...

And the guy said "I been reading up on my Christian Lore" ASSASSIN'S CREED. It's over for Ubi. Microsoft might buy them, but only because Sony not tryna spend that kinda money.

Imagine microsoft actually announcing and trying to buy Ubisoft right now lol

Shit, i can’t even imagine sony being able to get away with it

I don't think Microsoft can buy another studio/publisher while the Activision acquisition is still ongoing.

Could it be... VRR is actually being released for PS5 today (it's Wednesday here in the UK)?

I think right now that is the only thing that would slightly excite me in the world of gaming. I hope it's not another acquisition (I think these are ultimately bad for the industry) or something VR-related (doesn't interest me at all).

This dude gets so many dedicated threads on GAF you'd think he's the owner of these forums.

Anyway, been a lot of chatter this week, let's see what actually comes to fruition.
