Neil Druckmann is working on a new project, but it's still too early to talk about it

Confirmed at the SGF show, what do you think it is?
I assume he did put someone else to make the next Uncharted, and that Druckmann himself is working on their new IP.

Reparding TLOU Part 3 I assume he wrote the main base story and will overview it, but again someone else will be the cirectors and creative directors of TLOU3.

Neil and Jim kicked the door in on '20's video gaming and are leaving behind a trail of game of the year and game of the generation awards receipts.

Now all they can do is a remake that doesn’t even look next gen
It’s The Last Of Us Part 3 people.

Of course it is.
How many teams do they have? I thought it was 2. One for remake and one for factions. Maybe they have another.

2020: TLOU2
2021: Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection PS5
2022: TLOU remake PS5 + Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection PC
2023: TLOU Factions + TLOU remake PC + TLOU tv show

They also have "more unannounced projects under development" now and Druckmann is working in one of them. I assume their next projects will be a new IP, a new Uncharted and TLOU3. I assume they are already working at least on the Uncharted one if it's the same one they were working on with Bend and maybe the new IP is under preproduction.

All Sony development teams have been hiring a ton of people recently to put all of them to work and will continue doing so. The idea is to have at least all their big teams workwing o several games at the same time. So who knows how many teams has Naughty Dog now. They may even have TLOU3 under preproduction or ready to go into preproduction as son as they ship the remake or their MP game.

I also assume someone else (probably the ones making the PC port of the Legacy of Thieves collection, once they are done with it) will make a native version of TLOU2 adding the dualsense and 3d audio stuff from the remake and bundle it as TLOU 1+2 Director's Cut for PS5 (TLOU2 PS5 bundled with TLOU1 remake) and months later release the TLOU2 PC port too.

I think they plan to promote together next year TLOU Part I+II Director's Cut + TLOU MP game + TLOU tv show.

these huge budget games just take too long to make now. especially since everyone in the games industry is permanently working remotely now it seems.
TLOU2 was released less than 2 years ago. Big, GOTY contender AAA games need at least 4 or 5 games to be developed.

I hope it's TLOU3 and it's centred around Abby and Lev.

This shouldnt be the case though, there has to be processes that can be automated or streamlined to shorten this process. How is insomniac able to put out a new triple a game every 1-2 years?

Some of the stuff in the list isn't really made by them. The Legacy of Thieves collections are made by Iron Galaxy. They obviously aren't working on the HBO show themselves aside from Neil D.
Also, TLOU remake was originally worked on by Visual Arts Studios and was later brought in-house. It's also worth considering that it's using a ton of existing assets from the original and from TLOU2.

Huge list until you realize that strictly speaking, that's only 2 new games, one being a multiplayer spin-off of the other.

It will be Uncharted 5 and we will learn Drake's daughter is really trans and she will team with Chloe and Nadine to take down Sam and Sully because they are rallying all the other cis-gendered white dudes to find all the remaining treasure out there and that offends Cassie/Casey, Chloe, and Nadine because they are being held back by the patriarchy.

DLC is Nathan and Elena breaking into the Supreme Court to steal the opinion on Roe V Wade before its released. And Elena has dyed her hair blue, pink, and purple, and Drake now wears skinny jeans.
You kids facetime each other with these circle jerks?

I have a feeling it's a new IP, and he'll pass the TLoU torch to another Naught Dog veteran.

Between TLoU 1, 2, Remake and and the HBO show I'd imagine he's about ready to move on from the IP already...

I dont even know what you're trying to say. I actually like his games and enjoy playing them. I'll probably get whatever his next project is if it looks good. Doesn't mean I can't point out he's having his own circle jerk over his fucked up ideology and make fun of him for injecting it into games.

They're not wrong and you're a weirdo.

People that exist in the real world are in a game. Did your ancestors get triggered when they created the Loki character in a 10th century poem?

I hope he writes a realistic Ancient Roman game, “WHY IS DRUCKMANN making Roman soliders gay! damn ideology!”

Another third person cinematic action adventure game with open world RPG elements and a heavy focus on non-interactive cutscenes and limited gameplay with little to no player agency, no doubt. Hopefully I’m wrong.

I personally hate this type of announcements, why even bother if they have nothing to show? Both Xenoblade 3 and The Callisto Protocol waited until they actually have something to show then announce the game while releasing same year.

Maybe this just me but I get way more hype for a game that are much closer to release date than announcing something that might not come out in decade.

At least game like The Plucky Squire that coming next year show us some gameplay to get us excited but this type of announcement so god damn pointless to me.

Remember when ND shipped a new IP in 2007 and then a hugely ambitious sequel in 2009?

Now all they can do is a remake that doesn’t even look next gen
Yes, crazy how video game development has become more complex and takes more time and effort in the span of 15 years, right? /s

How complex is it to port TLOU1 into TLOU2's assets and gameplay engine? 2 years of complexity?
We don't know exactly when this game started development. I've also read that it was initially being worked on by a different studio but later transfered back to ND.

This also isn't the only game they've been working on. They've released a PS5 patch for TloU2, Remastered versions of UC4&TLL for PS5 and they're working on this live service game.

Note: People in this thread are morons, Last of us 2 didnt even come out 2 years ago...it released June 19th.

Was there another studio that showed their next game/MP project in less than 2 years other than maybe insomniac?
Also Insomniac is a much larger studio than ND

What the are you talking about? Until very recently they only had a single big team. What do you expect them to do, to release a big ass brand new AAA every year? You haters make very embarassing twists.

They did way more things than that.

Personally not a fan of Naughty Dog games, but I'm crossing my fingers that Druckmann's next game fucking slaps so I can watch his ardent haters lose their minds.

Yeah that's totally the same thing.....era is that way.

None of what you said proves my point, you're an absolute clown so im not surprised.

Name more studio examples (of triple A quality and a new IP) that release games that fast or announce them within less than 2 years, thanks.
Lmao. You said we are morons because it hasn’t been two years. I pointed out it has been 1 year 11 months and 20 days. Over two years since they last shipped a game. That was literally your statement.

You just like to call people morons, shills and clowns because any Sony criticism deeply triggers you. This is not a good look, chief. How people like you are so oblivious to how you come across is beyond me.

Hopefully a completely new IP with a setting and gameplay very far removed from Uncharted and TLOU, so not a third person shooter in a grounded setting. A sci-fi game would be really fresh from them, even if it's a shooter (at least the guns will shoot lasers or something).

But I still think they could make a top of the line WRPG.

I know many have a hate boner for the guy after Part 2 but let's be honest he is still one of the best game directors out there. I'm personally excited what he has in mind for his next project. I kind of expect him to deliver less divisive game this time.
