Not a chance. Bethesda has to rely on the Gears/Forza/Halo fanbase to support their games now. I was done with these type of Bethesda games after Fallout 4.

Nope, Xbox is useless when I have PC. Now Playstation is going to be useless soon, when they do PC port day and date.
"When everyone plays, we all win". (Except for PS players) Proceeds to lock games in the Xbox brand. Not that i care much, i have PC. It's funny whenever they say that.

Right. One game alone won't sell a console. Well except for botw. It's ALL the high quality games coming to xbox that will force a lot of people to buy an Xbox.

Huh?

This has historically been true, especially for consoles. That's why the likes of Halo, Zelda, and Horizon were/are called system sellers.

You say the darndest things, Log...

You forget

Ratchet
Demons
Returnal
Sifu
Horizon
Gt7
Deathloop
Ffvii remake
Kena
Death stranding
Ghost of tsushima
Spiderman

A little something for everyone 💋

First, you ignored the PS-only gamer part of the OP since you're actually PS and PC gamer and now you're list waring for your precious Sony brand in a thread about Starfield. Noice!

In before 'deal with it'. Kissy lips.

1000 planets, full cities, space combat and a sony exclusive? Would be talked about as game of the generation off hype alone. this game will do superb numbers, more than 20 million easily. But yea the mixed reception is mostly playstation fans hating since its exclusive.

I don't understand how anyone can look at the janky ass half baked gameplay footage that we got and come to that conclusion. I guess PC gamer must also be a bunch of playstation fanboys as well right? :

Some of the headline features sound great on paper but the game doesn't pass the eye test as it stands at the moment.

I prefer PS. Though I am critical at times. It is still my main squeeze, with switch right behind. I don’t own the new XBOX, just for clarity sake.

But no, it won’t convince me to buy from what we saw. This point in my life, I don’t think a single title would anyway.

But beyond that, I think it was a disappointment. I was interested to see what was coming, but I didn’t think what I saw really had an identity. It seemed lost… I don’t think they fully know what they made. You ever get that feeling with games sometimes? This is one of those for me. It just didn’t hook me at all.

Oh well.

Nah, no game is worth a whole console. Id love to play it but I too wish I could play Flight SImulator, HALO and Forza Horizon but I just dont have the time to play 2 consoles or even invest and collect dust.

I have been considering getting a series S for a while. Nothing quite that compelling yet, but it will happen one day.

I would have if it was an xbox exclusive but I upgraded my PC instead. Thanks Phil!

This.

One of the few titles I'd buy a XB for, but since its coming to PC, I just don't see a reason to buy a XB.....like ever. I already buy most Bethesda titles on PC anyway, this will be no different.

Yes...like 3-4 years after original release. Xbox games go day 1 to PC. Its a big fucking difference.
PS5 miles morales seem going after not even 2 years I don't think Sony's game production is fast enough to wait that long and leave the PC market uncovered for years. Horizon is on PC Uncharted Is coming and TLOU too God of war too, Spiderman and Miles practically in 2 years they have released all their big hitters what do you think they will bring to PC after all their big productions are already there? It is obvious that day one release is just around the corner. If that is your mentality, you should sell consoles.

Around the corner? :messenger_tears_of_joy: Both Horizon and GOW released 3 years later on PC. Spiderman is abnout to be 4 years later after original release on PS4. Uncharted 4 came out almost 5 years ago and only now on PC. Why would I sell my consoles when I get everything day one nor am I a PC gamer?
The argument was how SONY is also going PC like MS does with gamepass. Its not even in the same universe of handling PS to PC games. But hey if you like to play the waiting game and play big blockbusters 4 years later on PC, be my guest. just dont use that as an example with MS when you get their games day one so it really doesnt matter where you play. TLOU2 is already 2 years old lol. By the time you get that on PC, TLOU 3 will have a release date already. Yeah, SONY players are going to just run to PC for this opportunity.

you didn't understand what I meant. In what span of time have all these titles released on pc? that's the question. It is more than evident that they are speeding up the release of all the big hitters to be on par with the new releases (and of course to make money). Or do you think after releasing all their big hitters they will stop for 3 years to please some angry fanboy who doesn't want to give up on exclusives like bullets?

After the way Bethesda did fallout and Massachusetts dirty, no I don't think so. Even if fo4 hadn't been a disappointment for me starfields presentation wasn't anything we haven't seen before.
I'm not saying that it will be bad. I've been burnt by Bethesda before and I don't trust that their engine will work properly.

Honestly, as someone who prefers gaming on PlayStation (but does have a PC), Starfield was the only game that I thought would hurt because of its exclusivity.

Boy was I wrong lol.

That showing was so poor. I'm totally fine with it not being on PlayStation. Nothing of value was lost. So, no, I won't be buying an Xbox because of Starfied, and I'm not even interested in downloading it on my PC around launch. Maybe Avowed and Hellblade 2 can change that? We will see.

Instead, I'll use that money for PS VR 2. And In H1 2023, I'll be enjoying PS VR 2 games.

There's no genuine system sellers for me. Xbox just isn't like Nintendo or Sony in that regard.

I want Perfect Dark & Fable, but I can just chuck old mate Phil a dollar to play them on PC.

If they made a themed Series X like they pumped out during the Xbox 360 days for something I like, that's the only way I'll buy a console.

I really like to read older sci-fi novels, but I dont think the top 20 writer could make 1000 interesting planet. You cant make every planet interesting like the one in the Mission of Gravity
The story is set on a very rapidly rotating highly oblate planet named Mesklin; its "day" is just under 18 minutes long, and its surface gravity varies between 700 g at the poles and 3 g at its equator. The story is told from the points of view of one of the local intelligent life forms and a human explorer. The locals are centipede-like, in order to withstand the enormous gravity, and terrified of even small heights, because in 700 g, even a tiny fall is fatal.
BTW this game and the memes are starting to make me buy no man's sky:messenger_grinning_sweat:

Hell to the nah. I'll spend $2000 for a new PC with the upcoming GPU+CPUs, over getting an XBox.

I want that near perfect visual fidelity and maximum capable FPS experience.

From my perspective, which is what I think you meant to say, you're voting in a poll that didn't apply to you since you also game on PC. I've seen you post mostly negative things about MS while always praising Sony so like another poster said, "big surprise" that you voted against it. You're just voting to diss on Xbox since again, it didn't apply to you so I understand his perspective.

Why would I? Its on PC?

Another PS ONLY gamer...or not. Maybe it should be capitalized in the OP so they'd get it.

I saw this thread on the other site and really wanted to take the temperature of neogaffers. Specifically, Playstation only gamers.

Did the Starfield showcase convince you PS only gamers, to pick up a Series S/X to play Starfield?
I used to be playstation "only" gamer (not counting switch/retro), and got series x last xmas when they were easily available for weeks at here. To play flight simulator mainly, and partly to play starfield/stalker etc later

Looking at this starfield presentation now = I would not get it. Before this presentation starfield looked more interesting, but it is on game pass so I will try it

"Bethesda is not really equipped to compete with Guerrila Games on graphics, or Naughty Dog on animations, or Capcom on gameplay."

Do you disagree with any of that?
They aren't trying to. They are making a open world living rpg. A game is its sum of its parts, which Starfield looks like it has a lot of parts. Who knows how good it will be though.

They aren't making a open world action game or corridor stealth game.

Yes. I was planning to buy a PS5 in the fall, but I will now get a Xbox series X in 2023 instead.
I don't really care about Sony first party titles, but it was the home of Yakuza, Kojima, Persona and Final Fantasy games. Now (most) of these game are or will also be available on GPU. And Starfield is really my type of game.
