just wait for the paid costumes.
In SFV you were able to unlock costumes, including several classic ones from Cammy like the ones from Cannon Spike or X-Men vs Street Fighter/Marvel vs Capcom series/SFA series. And it was relatively quick to unlock stuff by playing some super easy single player modes stuff.

I might be wrong, but I feel like they're doing a game for pros and e-sport.
Everything I read makes it feel way too convoluted.
SF2 sold that much also because it was simple and approachable.
With SF6 they are targeting both newbies/not talented players and experienced players.

It will feature all current game modes of SFV (which means a ton of single player modes and content) and a brand new single player open world-ish story mode (World Tour) where you'll be introduced to all the techniques and basics of fighting games and this one in particular, and will help you improve and learn while also introducing players to the SF lore and to the backgrounds of the characters. In addition to this they also introduced the "modern" (easy) controls for newbies or untalented people who will be able to perform special moves without needing to perform the motion inputs and also to perform combos by smashing stuff.

Regarding game mechanics, parries no longer need super precise and strict timings, you'll be able to keep it pressed for a while at the cost of spending more bar. Which means will be way more accessible to low tier players and also more online matches friendly. Low tier players will also have a very easy to perform strong offensive mechanic: a very strong armored (meaning nothing happens to you if you receive a hit or two while performing it) attack and also a very easy to perform powerful counterattack move to avoid pressure (you perfom it while you block an attack to crush your rival).

All players will have fun without having to know or master the high level stuff. So seems it's going to be the most accessible SF game. But other than that, it will also offer several ways to play it by providing multiple ofensive and defensive tools to provide extra depth and possibilities to play each character in more different ways, plus at the same time will also reward precise timing for some things, like when performing a parry or Guile's Sonic Boom.

So everyone is covered and will eat good.

Is a double edge sword my friend. We don't know the official skins yet, but we do know the SF director.

Yeah maybe the new less sexy designs can be marketed initially but all the revealing skins ready for dlc down the line.
Cammy in her classic in the leak looks even more sexy and hot as SF5, if not more

Her model definitely had more time spent on her legs and booty. Even from that off screen footage she looked extra thicc.

I just don't get Ryu wearing the red cloth around him... it seems unnecessary and like something his character wouldn't bother with

Also, Chun Li's new music is straight fire. It makes me think of 3rd Strike for some reason.

Ryu's command list.

We need more of this:

Let's hope at least some of them are still there as the default. Mika's coming back but they could cover her head to toe in a large towel or blanket for all we know.

Still need some higher-quality footage to make absolutely sure, but those assets are looking on point so far. Maybe something will leak before the end of summer.

Really interesting view on the Just Frames mechanic from one of my favorite SFV pro players/streamers.

So I guess going by this, one-frame links are definitely not coming back at least like how they used to be. In a way that kinda sucks because while SFIV went COMPLETELY overboard on them, SFIII had a good balance and I liked mastering some of the one-frames there fore chars like Remy and Dudley.

OTOH I agree with him that Just Frames could be a great way of still rewarding players who take the time to learn perfect timing, but are friendly enough to not completely punish or shut out lesser-skilled players who still want to do some form of those combos (tho they'll be less optimized versions of them). I actually think it's a great bridging game mechanic and something they likely needed to do eventually.

And it beats the hell out of the built-in 3-frame buffer of SFV that just killed top-level complexity a bit too much.

I guess because he became a master? Or a hermit?

IMO feel like Capcom is trying to depopularize Ryu to promove new generation fighters, aka Luke.

Capcom said something to the tune of him honoring Gouken as far as growth is concerned, so that's why he has it. I thought it was because he trained with Oro and this takes place after that, but Capcom cleared it up.

Still too vague taking into consideration the Ken family drama.

Jamie's move list

Seems cool but also not quite as "expert" a character I was thinking he was gonna be. I guess he's closer to a Yun or Yang in complexity but simpler since he doesn't have any teleport dashes or stuff for mix-ups. His rekkas (I think there were some rekkas in there) look easier too.

It makes sense tho, since he's kind of a co-lead alongside Luke and they can't be too complex. But I still hope there are a couple of characters in the starting roster something like a Dudley, Twelve, Zeku, or even C.Viper or Gen in terms of complexity/depth, in relation to the new mechanics and whatnot.

Because I tend to like those characters, and there's also a 50% chance they tend to be mid-tier or low-tier and I like playing with those type of characters as well.

Lmao, I'm honestly all for evolving characters in unexpected ways, but that one just hurts my soul too much. I loved what they did with Birdie, as it hits character was very distasteful and it showed through his move and animation set. Ken's wife leaving him and taking the kid though...I guess it's too real for me. I hate Ken, but I guess they will make me cheer for him this time lol

I'm right there with you. I love the more complex characters, or characters that focus on other things such as conversions and situational awareness like Oro and Menat, Dhalsim, Gill, Zeku, Rose etc. SFV didn't get enough credit in that regard. They definitely had characters that were more difficult to use and required real discipline.

Yeah; SFIII was a lot of the same deal as well. My favorites in 3S were chars like Q, Remy, Twelve, etc. Chars like Q and Remy I feel relied a lot on conversions off of good pokes because that's kind of how they got a lot of their damage, and you still needed to be mindful of spacing, distance, positioning etc. when doing them. Chars like Remy in particular not having any reliable crossup, so you had to do things like time booms to hit meaty and maybe force an ambiguous boom crossup depending on not just your timing but the opponent's recovery speed and sometimes even if you had them near a corner or not (which made it easier, otherwise they could technically just roll recover and negate that type of stuff).

But more onto SFV, I know what you're talking about. Even characters some people kept saying were cheap like Karin, in tournies you only really had a small handful of consistent Karins like Punk, Bonchan, Phenom etc. A lot of other pros who picked her when she got buffs didn't get that far with her. I really enjoy watching upper-skill Fang, Juri, Menat, Zeku etc. players because I think they're among the more technical of the cast.

Looking at the new cast, I think that Chinese assassin woman, the G-looking dude who looks like an Italian or Spanish fashion designer, and the girl with the pink hair could be more on the technical side. Where they fall tier-wise I wouldn't know but don't honestly care, I kinda like sticking with mid and low-tier characters anyway since I feel they kinda force you to learn the game better and focus tighter on fundamentals. Tho competitive players already have strong grasps on that stuff or can pick them up very quickly going from game to game and they kinda have to go with upper-tier characters for tournament reasons.

Game looks reallly good, chun li design and face in this looks perfect, if anything id prefer capcom to thin down chun li thighs more, but that just me, i can live with the way the character been shown so far, love the design of luke and jamie , to me they look a lot better then the leaked marisa charachter which is it male is it female is it a tranny, size of biceps they look bigger then guiles, oh and love guiles look shown in sf6

Plus in the new famitsu magazine interview said depending how good google translate is it sounds like its gonna be 60fps on all machines, but they say they not making the game tailored to the specs of the ps4, but they doing it there best to get it out in a optimised state for each hardware, but sounds like the game graphically gets better the more the hardware can handle it, so for me prob play it on my gaming pc since that gonna look best, but will still get it on ps5 for siting room for when people round etc, plus like sf5 sound like there will be dlc for yrs to come after the game is out with season pass and character bundle and stages and updates every yr

Every time they say they're putting mechanics in the game to CHANGE THE GAME DRASTICALLY, but in reality only top level players really get to use most of those mechanics so the game feels almost identical to the last one.

This does look pretty nice though. It's interesting they've stuck with this cartoonish design instead of trying something totally different. They really reached the ceiling for this design style in 5, it's really weird that this doesn't look much better.
Top level players don’t only use the signature mechanics of each SF installment. You might be able to say this about SF3 but using focus attacks, and the V-system were pretty easy and gave really good rewards to even casual players.

Sf5 today didnt play like sf5 did when it first came out or when it was in beta, so a lot will change over time with sf6 as the developers adjust the game etc , but i like they not just copied exactly what sf4 or sf5 did, it makes the game fresh and not feel like a previous game just with updated graphics, plus can see it mixing the pro players up a bit as they adjust to the new style, although would have loved to see a leaked video of how ono had the game playing, when it said internerly the game wasnt well recieved and he was moved off the project and someone new put in charge to change the game to what we see today

The new logo is great. Really clever how they turned a Roman VI into an Arabic 6:

Also Jamie has the best new moveset since SF3 (only Zeku and Juri come close), his face only looks weird in one portrait.

Doesn't matter.
Too many mechanics all at once. It's daunting and off-putting for casuals.

(Also, double fuck simplified controls)

I have seen people mainly complain about Cammy wearing pants for once. The Chun Li criticisms are just silly and though. This game is clearly not as horny as SF5.

Imo her design is just insanely boring, it's the most generic '' yoga pants girl '' design imaginable.
I do find it annoying too that people are acting smug about it, I always hated the crowd obsessing about how Cammy '' NEEDS '' to wear pants.
Imo I just get annoyed by the hypocrisy and how people are allowed to sit around for years essentially screeching '' cover up you slutty whore '' at the top of their lungs ( even if framed less bad ).
But then if people even so much as ask for skimpier OPTIONS in games even these same people have a mental breakdown and it turns into a huge social media dogpile campaign...

If this design was revealed and no one made a big fuzz about '' yaaas pants omg finally '' then I wouldn't have cared much, I'd still think the design is shit tho.
But I can't help but to get really annoyed by it in the current state.

So I guess they went with the splatoon art style? Meh!

I mean, SFIV had ink/paint splash effects too and came out way before Splatoon. So who copied who here? 🤔

Doesn't matter.

It's not really THAT many mechanics, and they're simple to understand. Plus many of those mechanics are optional for casuals since they aren't necessarily interested in mastering the fighting mechanics. They just want to push buttons, see some cool stuff happen, and feel like a badass

To be fair the more i see the leaked roster the more its growing on me , even me complaining about cammy , the legging pants new one growing on me , and i no now they putting the leotard one in as alt costume, i wonder if they will do button press to take certain items off like sfv as cammy new design would look really good if the jacket was removed, as for others juri design looking great as well as djay, rashid, and few other , just hope capcom dont do a mortal kombat on us and before game comes out covers all the women

What else is there to cover up aside from a bit of midriff and some bare leg? Juri's really the only gal putting herself out there.

I agree, throwing a bunch of new mechanics all at once can be troupling and sounding more like they wanted the crownd for e-sports. It should be a balance, otherwise casuals and those with no interest on profissional will feel scared.

Oh yeah for sure. The way they drop this felt like it was to appease an e-sports audience. Hell, SF5 was the start for Capcom going e-sports. Fuck e-sports btw.

Problem is... who's streaming it, making YT videos about it and giving Capcom suggestions and pointing out "problems"? Exactly.
And I fear Capcom is forgetting that the majority of the playerbase are NOT wannabe pros.

Tongue-in-cheek but still waiting with bated breath to see Mika in this with her default, DLC or not.

That's not real, butt injections I assume

Nah, it's real. They've been doing workouts for years and stuff to grow 'em.

Plus when a lot of girls get fake butts, they tend to go from so small to so big you can easily tell they're injections or implants. Not the case with her.
