Is this the new standard for narrative-heavy game remakes? “Citizen Kane 4K? Did they change the story? No? Then I’ll watch it for free on YouTube! Suck it up Welles!”.

For years people have been fine playing or replaying games that have been rereleased/ported/remastered and paying a premium for it.

But because this isn't a Nintendo product somehow it's a problem.

Since the mod deleted my reply for "trolling", let me rephrase my reply. Paying 80 euros for a game I played 4 years ago at 60 FPS just so I can see its graphic settings go from very low to ultra is idiotic.

Not everyone is rich as you, but nice stealth brag. In 10 years, I'm sure you'll agree with paying for patching your games to fix bugs and other issues right? SOunds ridiculous now? 10 years ago, this was also ridiculous.
The point wasn’t that I’m rich, which I’m not, but we all justify certain expenses subjectively and constantly bitching and moaning about the cost of this upgrade is obnoxious whenever we have more comparisons to look at. I’d much rather have a thread talking about the comparison than someone’s inability or unwillingness to afford a new product.

It's a bit disingenuous calling the original a PS4 game.

It's a PS3 game that got a minor bump on PS4.

It needs to look significantly better than TLOU2 to be impressive, not the first one. And it doesn't.
I chuckled when I saw that.

It certainly looks better, and I'm sure no one is surprised by that. But, I still don't feel like it looks THAT much better. Especially with how they've been talking up the whole "building it from the ground up" thing IMO.

If we can't complain then might as well eat dirt no? Imagine a world where we are not allowed to have issues with corporations. You might be ok with it. I'm not. An upgrade should be free for the same game. Hell, I would even consider 10 to 30 euros depending how old the game is. But this? It's scummy.

I don’t think you don’t have a right to complain, I’m just pointing out the complaints are stupid and redundant and tangential to a conversation around the before and after comparison.

At first it looked like a cash grab to me, but Naughty Dog has convinced me that this is a remake and it's going to look beautiful on PS5 on a 4K set. I'm not sure about $70 though. I think $60 or $50 is a better price if you already played the 1st one. If you have not played the 1st one then this is worth every penny
