The actual game itself doesn't look bad per se, but it's so obvious that the tone of the main character is unbelievably lame.
In fact, having re-watched the trailers, none of the other key characters seem bad either. It's literally just the protagonist dragging it down.

Yeah, they’ve really messed up with the voice acting/script on this one. Super annoying protagonist imo. The “cuff” seem annoying as well.
But on the other hand the entire premise is pretty poor. The whole ‘teenage girl from modern world enter mystical realm’ feels like something I’d see on the Disney Channel.
At least the magic/spells and movement looks neat though.

The fantasy setting and setup are intriguing until the main character opens her mouth. She just seems so full of herself and insufferable. To even attempt to relate is likely impossible.

The entire presentation of the game has been awkward and embarrassing since the announcement.... Somehow nothing fits together.
Maybe it's supposed to be exactly like that, but to me the whole thing looks like a nice tech demo that doesn't seem to have much more behind it.
Empty and strange world, generic monsters, the usual superpowers, an unpleasant protagonist who is just over it ...
So unless the game has some ace up its sleeve and breaks with this whole concept and, for example, comes into the real world with these superpowers and all this fantasy stuff at the beginning is just meant to mislead you, I think this is just going to be another nice looking but shallow 0815 game.

I dont know, maybe i am of the minority but to me it sounds like a change from the (( weight)) of responsibility, to enjoying it.
Like in the superheros where the heros are always carrying the weight of their super powers not enjoying it.
This is why i loved the first season of the Flash it was a nice change of tone to the genre.

Yeah I really don't like the vibes this game is giving me. Protagonist + how their character is written doesn't work for me.
And that is another game on the long list of games that don't look worth full price to me, but if it reviews well and the core gameplay and environments are better than expected it might be worth to look into well down the line during a big sale.

Isekai is borderline endemic, every few months a new Isekai something shows up.
It was just time for a AAA Isekai to happen.
Be grateful the protagonist is actually still a human being.
Weve had Isekai where the protagonist is a Spider(actually awesome story)

Atleast the gameplay looks reasonably good.
I do wonder if the game has Japanese voice acting.....im sure the lipsync is for English, but curiosity always gets the better of me.

Developers should add options where characters simply shut the fuck up.
It's so annoying. I don't want to hear Aloy talk about obvious shit over and over again. I don't want to hear Xenoblade characters garbage after every single battle, and I don't want to hear forspokens character talking to herself nonstop. Shits annoying and cringe.

Not sure why, any of the other versions you listed sounds more interesting and creative than Forspoken/modern teenage girl in fantasy world (although maybe not the ‘hot chick’ one).
I’d be happy to play as a vending machine or a spider as long as they’re less annoying.

The difference is, that in this game, tbe isekaied character will have some depth, unlike most anime mcs.
She may banter too much or whatever, but im sure writers made their best effort to depict what is a normal human being reappearing in a fantasy world. Which is cool by me.
Also, so many of you have a problem calling cringe every character that is not plain badass. Games have a place for normal imperfect characters too. Deal with it.

Nah, I watched my GF play through both Horizon games.
Alloy is... somewhat annoying in her "strong woman don't need nobody!" shtick. But otherwise fine.
At least she talks like a human being.
But this single-handedly killed any hope for me that I'll ever play Forspoken. Within less than 30 seconds.
Unless there's a mod or sth to shut up the main character, which is really damn unlikely.
