Wouldn’t this cause harm to Wired? This goes beyond unprofessionalism. I don’t know if they were given an early copy (are they even a gaming website?) but wouldn’t most publishers avoid giving Wired early copies now?
I get it, she thinks she’s gone out the box and done something smart with the score to make a point and for clicks and has geared herself up for the hate she’ll end up getting and she tells everyone around her she’s got thick skin but really she gets a punch in the gut feeling when she sees comments on her weight and face and tells herself she’s successful and respected in her job - but isn’t this bad for the website? Ironically the game is actually really politically correct, with a trans character and a large cast of ethnic minorities. It’s also clearly been put together with a huge amount of hard work, care and passion, something these nutcases wouldn't know anything about.

I read the most brainless tweet about this game last night I find it so funny how upset people are about this game because of one human being. There's 8 Billion People on this planet and you care so much about one persons opinion like holy shit these people's brains must not work correctly.

The tweet went something like, "Realistically there is no way to engage with it while saying you don't approve of the author's views, especially when that author has public state that they consider engagement with their work as direct support of their views"

A journalist from Wired has given Hogwarts Legacy a score of 1/10 to deliberately thwart its success and hamper it's score on Metacritic/Opencritic.

I'm not going to tell Metacritic or Opencritic how to operate their business, but if I were them I would remove WIRED from their list of critics. Change their 1/10 to a regular user score, since that's essentially what it is. Remove their relevance completely going forward. Mess with the bull, get the horns, etc.
