PlayStation VR2 |OT| I heard it has a single cable. Is this true?

It's definitely visible in GT7 in daytime races, less so night time. Daytime races the roads are more grey than black and you can see it on them. Car interiors also have some slight mura. It's going to be less noticeable when there are lots of cars around or there's less open terrain in the middle distance. I've tested 3 different headsets at this point and they all had visible mura in GT7, one (defective) being worse than the other 2.

I really do think some people just have very limited sensitivity to it. Some people don't notice banding or DSE on TVs either. Wish I was the same.

Another key thing here is are you trying to focus close and look right at it or are you reporting how it looks when you are actively playing the game.

Cool list by Upload VR, goes to show how diverse the launch really was. Glad to see Demeo up there, wonder where TWD will land when they finish reviewing it. What do you guys think about the list?
Switchback lower than light brigade and moss 1&2? I saw that and stopped looking the list...

I had no idea what you guys were talking about initially then I did notice it at the beginning of RE8 in the snow before reaching the village. Like a screen door covering everything.
If I look for it I see it but if I'm just enjoying the game it doesn't exist.
No big whoop for me 🙂

That makes a big difference. Notice you are looking at it, it feels really close to you face. It really does seem a couple inches away. When you are playing, you literally "look past it" as you focus further away. Still visible if you are looking for but much harder to notice that way.

Has anyone else seen this weird purple spot-like reflection? Today is the first day I've noticed it. It's pretty distracting but I can't tell if its something in my environment causing it.

Honestly never saw it and I think it is the first time I heard something like this.

I played 1 hour and a half of Runner yesterday, and man that game is so cool!

As mentioned yesterday, controls feel a bit complex at first and the game is really challenging, so the first minutes can be a bit frustrating. But once you start to get the flow of the game and master the mechanics, everything clicks and it becomes so fun and exciting!

I'm a huge Sega fan and I have always loved this kind of pure arcade experiences that yells some bombastic synthwave at your face while throwing waves of ennemies at you, and Runner delivers just that, with quite some flair.

It's not the most visually impressive game, nor it is the one with the biggest amount of content, but if you used to love Sega, Capcom or Namco(t) games in arcade, it should be right up your alley. (and it's only 15 bucks)

Oh, and I also finally bought Demeo. Played only the tutorial but I know I'm already falling in love...

Runner is on my radar, your impressions paints a pretty good picture of the game. Might bite the bullet soon, I know my brother would like to play that, so perhaps will buy before the next time he comes to my place.
About Demeo, yeah... My overall GOTY for now. I always have a blast pkaying it with my friends. We finally started the Book V, what a charming table it is! As always, bard ftw lol

Does anyone else sweat like a fucker with this on? I read it had a fan, but can't see where to activate it.

Also those little ear pieces are shite. Might have to start using the proper headset instead. Was really into Horizon yesterday. Might pick up the flying game this week

I have an external fan on most of the time. The reviewers definitely oversold the fan in the headset to keep the lenses clear.

Yes i have it. Must be 20 threads on reddit about it, Seems every set has it and once you see it yer fooked. lol I notice it most on the Walking dead part 1. Its something to do with a reflection from your eyes.

How much worse are we talking about with the defective one? I'm wondering whether it's worth returning and hoping for better luck with a different headset.

I don't think what I'm seeing is particularly different to what you and many other people are reporting, but the amount of people who claim they barely see it makes me wonder if the level of Mura varies greatly between sets.

I think that's the point.. some people can't help but focus on it. For other people they're just happy to be in a virtual racecar.

When I play GT7 I can get to a point where I'm simply enjoying the game but I'm never completely unaware of the diffusion filter/mura and it can effect the immersion for a moment when it really sticks out. The experience is still overwhelmingly positive but I'd rather it not be there.

My non-defective headset is for sure in line with the average experience. It shows up in grey scenes (fog, etc), scenes with gentle lighting in a dark room, some uniform backgrounds, and more frequently in games with low contrast and/or muted colour pallets. It's a subtle uniform pattern that looks like film grain or static. Generally easy to ignore and sometimes absent entirely.

With the defective headset the pattern was less uniform and would appear more prominently outside of the conditions I mentioned. It was visible in darker scenes, and after testing realized it was because of a blotchy, more pronounced pattern on the left lens. If you test both eyes independently and see a similar level of noise, and it's essentially uniform, you're good.

That's what I meant to say. Since GT7 is 60 reprojected to 120, that shouldn't mean 90 fps should be the accepted minimum for all VR games.

Oh, well I guess if you go by that the headset is only capable of running at 90 or 120fps, maybe, but I would still count the framerate as 60fps for GT7. The reprojection afaik is just doubling frames with the ability to alter their positioning based on your head movement, that's my understanding. RE8 is also 60 reprojected to 120, and certainly does not feel like a 90 or 120fps. But when you use your head to look around by turning it, the movement is always very smooth, so that's what the reprojection is for as far as I understood it.

GT7 actually renders the reflections while you're racing at 15 or maybe 30fps, you can definitely notice they're being rendering way less than 60fps. Either way, I think things would get really tough to handle in VR with slow framerates and having full motion, and agree 90 should be the minimum for anything that's not a AAA port where they're struggling to run it at more fps.

Interesting. I tested with each eye yesterday and it definitely seemed more pronounced in the left lense. Although my left eye is also my dominant one so maybe it's more noticeable because of that.

I don't because I usually play games without intense real life moviments, but I can understand people getting sweat when using it. Try using an external fan to help. The internal fan of the headset works as an exhaust and it is always on, I think.

Yeah, VR will make you sweat bad for more active games. Your head will sweat more because of the headset (for obvious reasons) for any games so a sweatband is highly recommended.

The PSVR2 does have a fan, but it's not meant to cool you off or anything, it's for preventing lens fogging.

Ehhh I got a bunch of people trying to get me to play elden ring (I've been waiting) so I popped it in over the weekend. But I'm not quite done basking in the glory of my psvr and everyone's asking "how's elden ring?!?!" and I'm thinking... it feels flat lol.
ER is one of those all or nothing kind of games - it really requires you to envelop yourself in the world. If you’re still in the VR honeymoon period (as I am), then I’d recommend putting it to one side for the time being. It’s what I’ve had to do with Hogwarts, even though it’s clearly a great game.

I'm feeling like I should shelve it. I'm making progress faster than I thought I would and feeling less feels. As if I'm rushing.

It's hard for anything on a tv to compete with RE8 at the moment.

That's the cromatic aberration that happens when the sceens are not completely aligned with the eyes. The farther from the sweet spot, the more pronounced it is, especially towards the sides of the image. I always spend some minutes to be sure to properly position and fix the headset before starting to play (it should always be quite low in the rear of the head, to be steady), steading it progressively as I approach the correct focus of white text. The sweet spot is quite small, so it's important to find it and to steady the headset on it.

It takes less than a minute now, just use the alignment in the menu to get it centered, then push the button to turn on the passthrough with the floating text and adjust it vertically a tiny bit to get that centered text perfect. That's it.

Really dumb all the text on the alignment screen is at the top/bottom and low resolution so you feel like you need to adjust it there, causing the center to be off. At least the passthrough feed is high resolution and with centered text, but if I only use that I almost always have the headset on slanted/off-center, so I do the eye alignment first.

I also like the tip mentioned to center the and tighten the headset while you're looking upward towards the ceiling, as that will put the most pressure on your face, so if you set that first it'll feel better than over or under-tightening it while looking level then having it move around too much when you look up and down.

Man, I need to learn to sit down and play a game all the way through in VR lol. I jump from game to game, world to world, Right now i'm playing Pavlov, Demeo, S&S:R, GT7, Star Wars, Runner, Moss Book 1, and Switchback. a little here, a little there. Normally im not like this, I play a game until I'm finished with it, but VR does something different.

You and me, I was just thinking about this yesterday. I usually play Demeo with my friends, but sometimes I do have so spare me time and play a few different games at same time basically lol. I think I will focus on Resident Evil Village... or Walking Dead... Maybe I should buy Moss and play that first, I don't know 😅

Can anyone confirm if the latest Light Brigade patch fixed the reported tracking issues?
And another silly question, does Light Brigade allow you to listen to music while playing? 😅
I came across that RE8 mutes Spotify (As does RE4 Remake). I understand the argument that it ruins the atmosphere, but come on, if I'm already on my fifth playthrough and I know the game by heart, let me listen to whatever the hell I want in the background.

I usually just put in the ear buds (or just one) and then put headphones on too. That way I get music and game audio.

Anyone play The Last Worker yet? Any impressions?

I really wish VR trailers were in vr on the store so we could get a feel for the game. Flat screen definitely doesn't translate.

I've got that on PCVR, It's pretty good too if you're looking for something more in the mould of Ace Combat than a sim.

Hasn't been updated in yonks on PC tho so maybe it'll get updated with some goodies from the PSVR2 version :messenger_grinning_sweat:
That's what I am hoping for. I hope the next Ace Combat will have full VR as well for the entire game, missed opportunity otherwise. My gut tells me they will.

OK Demeo is absolutely amazing. Visuals, gameplay, sound design, animations... everything is top notch.

Finished one campaign with randoms and that was such a blast! I am really impressed.
Yes, yes, yes! Demeo is fantastic, my favorite PSVR2 game so far and as I said before, it might ending up as my overall GOTY. I simply love everything about it :)

Last time I played (and finished a full run) I had basically no tracking problem at all. Though, I should add that before that the tracking had some issues but it wasn't that common for me.

Walkabout Mini Golf is confirmed, looking forward to that, supposed to be super fun.
Most people usually praise the game and say it is fun even for those who do not like it. I'm curious.

Looks like Gorn is out. Not sure if its a straight port of the PS4 version.
Lmao that came out of nowhere after a delay announced after the initial - official - release date. Bizarre. Must say this does not instill confidence in me about the port.
